    I love Godox lights. Suits my budget and have worked well for me. The AD200/AD200Pro are Godox's best selling lights for a reason. The power of almost 3 speedlights in one unit and so versatile. There are so many accessories and light units that work with them as a base. Portable and the bare bulb is great for when you need to put it in a modifier as the light spreads a lot better than with the fresnel head (the typical rectangular head). But yeah, I love the Godox stuff, especially the AD series. I have the AD 200 Pro and the AD600 BM (fully manual, no TTL and goes down to 1/256). I shoot outdoors quite a bit so I like having the power at my disposal. You'll love not being a slave to cords all over the floor when you get the AD300Pro. Cool stuff :)

    Thanks for mentioning the lowest power output for each device, it saved my money! Appreciate your work.

    I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for being real on what you feel comfortable with in terms of performance vs price point. I own 4 Godox strobes (2 - DP400III, 1 - DP600III and 1 - DP800III) and I love the quality of the lights. I always say that if it works well enough for what you want it to do, then you have the right product.

    I as well started with the smaller speed lights but for many years now still use godox studio strobes and have two of the ad200. I use them a lot on location shoots because of there output and portability. I’ve never had a reason to change to any other brand. I’m getting a 400iii godox studio strobe for studio work as that’s plenty for my needs. Nice video.

    As someone who' s still a beginner at studio photography, I found your video very informative. I was still thinking about which Godox lights I should buy for my small studio, and I think the SK400II is just what I need. Thank you for making this video.

    The AD200 is one of the best values/performance for battery flashes. The PRO vs Non pro is 1/256 or 1/128 range. I have too many lights. Lol. (2) MS300’s (2) AD200’s (2) AD400 PROS. I watch for the sales on Adorama and get deals. Paid $420 & 430 for the AD400’s so “not terrible”. They are on sale for $439 till end of Aug now.

    What you have prooved is you dont have to have the Catalac to get the job done. I have really got sucked into the Godox eco system and have started out just recently. The only ticket item on my studio strobes i insisted on having with all my lights was being able to stop them down to 1/256. Originally got some that stopped down to 1/64, but decided after watching many TH-cam videos to return them and pay a bit more. Very happy with Godox

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you whole-heartedly about being able to stop down to 1/256. I sure did not understand this when I started out. I love the option to search TH-cam videos to learn from other phoographers. We all learn from each other.

      @@gingersnapshots-ok in fact having a better understanding of the lighting options up front is paramount. Luckily I had the opportunity to return what I originally purchased within 30 days and go better. Started up with the Godox DP series to getting the Godox QT series which was 4 lights in total. 2of 400w and 2 of 600w. Also returned 2 of 3 Godox Continuous bi lights, a 60w and 150w for the same spec lights from Neewer and Amaran that are RGBWW for the same cost and kept my Godox RGBWW. Having 3 Continuous lights all rgb provides bukus of flexibility. Something I learned after the fact. Knowledge is definitely power.

    I own 8 of these some units are better than others. You are lucky to get 1 perfect unit. Be sure when you have big projects to bring an extra unit with you just in case one unit malfunctions.

      .... or in case you forget the cord. I did a headshot session on location and forgot the cord to my Sk400ii. Thankful I had my Ad200 small flash. It actually worked out better.

    adorama's Flashpoint and Godox sell for the same price across all sources.
    the 400ws plug in with LED modeling light is currently $220 for either 'brand'
    im torn between adding a couple of 300ws because im trying to go all bowens mount modifiers but i like the portability of the 200s. they require a speedmount though to use most of the modifiers i hope to use (and get rid of the shaft mounted umbrellas)...
    pretty good video. id like to have seen a bit more on the actual use / control panel of the monolights

      You just need the S2 bracket, if you haven't gotten it already. It has the Bowens mount slot to fit any Bowens mount modifier. I know it's one more thing to get but I promise you it's a great thing to have and you will get SO much use out of it.

    Yes pass the buff and go to Godox or Wescott. The Einstein is nice, but it is very plasticy. For the money, I would stay with the Godox or Wescott. Just a note. Godox when they first came out they were not that good, but they listened to the costumer and they improved their product.

    Hello, I found your vide very informative. Would you recommend the godox SK 400 ii for both product photography + continues light as key light for making TH-cam video ?
    I would appreciate your advise.
    Thank you.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can definitely use the SK400II for product photography. As for continuous light for videos - the only way to use it for videos is to use the modeling light. The modeling light has been bright enough for with this light. The newer version (SK400II V) has a LED light and is a little bit brighter. You could experiement with it. Godox makes a few continuous lights - I hope to try them soon. Currently, I am using a Raleno video light (PLV-C80) with a bowens mount - in a 36 ince softbox. I also use a flat panel Raleno LED light for my desktop set up. I hope that helps. :)

    You don't shoot in high-speed sync because the SK400II and 300 don't offer high speed sync. The AD200 Pro does offer HS sync.

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! I am able to shoot HSS with my SK400II and 300 (1/400 is all I have ever needed). I have been using my AD200Pro for the most part, and I rarely need to go above 1/250 for my SS. I did just go out to my studio to test it before replying - You have to select the SYNC button on the trigger (Godox X-Pro trigger) until you can see the lighting bolt with and H - it will appear near the symbol for the battery power level.

      Also, what I understand - the trigger settings override the light.

    Nice vidio. I using Godox aswal, but the smallest lights, i try do the home studio, just missing proper backdrop, what cheap i can use/made or buy ? Don't wanna spend last money for something what not gonna work properly. Any backdrop advice for beginner please?

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I am sorry I didn't see your message until today. A lot of photographers use backdrop paper (Savage Paper). I have a roll of white. The paper works good but also rips and creases. Another option is Kate backdrop on Amazon. They are cloth material and not the cheap vinyl. They are not as good in quality as other backdeop companies. Realistic designs that are good - Baby Dream Backdrops, Intuition Backdrops by Becky Gregory, Fanncy Fabric Props.
      Backdrops definitely matter but lighting and camera matters more.
      I would start out with a couple colors or patterns that can be used in a variety of setups. I have solid white, gray, and black. I also have a white brick design and a wooden backdrop.

    Does the Godox 400 strobe also do continuous light? I am have trouble understanding how i am going to use it. I want to buy a light that fills the shadows and lights up my space .

    • @gingersnapshots-ok
      @gingersnapshots-ok  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am so sorry that I missed your comment until today. Are you looking for a light for photography or video?
      The Godox 400 is a stobe light that flashes. There is a flash tube light and a modeling light. The modeling light is continuous but is significantly less in power. Godox does make a continuous light that can be used for photography or video. I prefer a strobe light for photography.

      @@gingersnapshots-ok i used to have alien bees then shifted to elinchrome but elincromes are not as heavy duty so i ended up destroying around 8 units. Shifted to godox so far they perform well except for those faulty units. I have 2 bad units, one was repaired the other one has a minor issue.

    • @RonnelCuison
      @RonnelCuison ปีที่แล้ว

      I shoot on location, I do food and ads, so over the years elinchrome and alien bees break down, most of them are casings or build quality. I can't use them anymore they crack open and can't hold modifiers. Some has problems on the buttons and knobs. Sk400s are built to last in terms of casing.
