We're back with another classic jmcrofts tournament! This time we played Killer Instinct (KI 2013) and it was a lot of fun! There was toxicity, raging, hisako, and some MAJOR eyedol nonsense in grand finals. Hope you enjoy the Combo Breaker action!

I did so good on my first set, then got steam rolled by Poast, then Munin was just really good at zoning.
And yeah, some of my combos were meant to be short, but most were because I wasn’t used to the new Series X controller and I fat fingered my inputs.
But all-in-all, my opponents were just a level above me.
Still had a blast though.
And yeah, not a fan of the OG Sabrewulf in this game. Must be based on KI 2 and not KI 1. But the white I had to go for.
And I had a feeling Audials would take this tournament after playing him in practice rounds the week before. He wrecked me lol
"I dont know why Sarsippius is ending these combos so short" that man was scarred from that NASTY counter breaker a couple rounds before lol

Soul Calibur 6 is so fun and easy to pickup, would be a perfect choice for jmcup
My man JM came out like "I'm so mean I make medicine sick" after the BM. You love to see it
I really like KI's approach to life bars where instead of fighting in rounds, you just have 2 life bars to deplete. Seems fairer than the usual way games do things.
I agree, stocks based fighters make for more hype and dominant gameplay than rounds based ones. I wish Guilty Gear was stocks based - it'd be perfect to me then.
I'd like to see a Tekken JMCup. That game is super hype

What I appreciate about KI is that it looks great on a 2014 Samsung TV. 😂 I guess they "optimized" the tech they had. Think of older games running on CRT TVs 😂
JMcroft would you make Sailor Moon S the next JMCup tournament game? Or is it kinda unviable due to the netcode or emulation? Cuz idk if there was a good netcode solution for the game, the last thing i know is they are using fightcade/GGPO to play it (but i also dont know if its stable or not)
But for what i know for sure is the game is totally broken and might be fun to watch how all the player figure out and execute the best broken character/mechanic to win the JMCup

There are two games that i could never get into because i was really late to the party. Killer instinct and sould calibur. Wish they keep making more of those.

I love how much you love this game this game is amazing all I played back in 2013 lol PS my friend would be so mad at how you use Kim wu lol she can basically use her dragon dash as a special cancel and mix up the opponent or even be used after a dp for extra damage or recapture but can be counter broken so use wisely
There's a discord group playing Persona 4 Arena on a PS3 emulator. Now I know that's a rough proposition, but it would be cool if possible.

JM would you try the new "ressurected" game after the developer add rollback to their game in your next JMCup tournament? Maybe like GGAC+R or KOF2K2UM? It would be fun to see some of them in the JMCup
Maybe kof um could attract your latin america fans to join in, also ggac+r is a great game with lot of active community (maybe could also attract the overseas fans)

How active is the discord? I'm considering subscribing to support our boy but would like to know if things are accessible from a UK standpoint with good (wired) internet! I'd also love to play some KI with folks even if the tourney is already over
The discord is very active and there's several regulars in the JMcups who are from europe so as long as you're wired it wouldn't be a problem. As an example both players in the grand finals of this cup were from europe
