U are good at selling stuff top boy fella As soon as i bought a Redsea250 reefer i cut the sump out and fitted a clarisea 3000 brilliant bit of kit Still lets a bit of detritus through I have no leaks Any roller kit is good Best idea 💡 ever for the sump
Exactly what I did. Redsea reefer 250 cut out the filter sock chamber and put sk 3000 in. The rolls are a pain to change tho, I do like the look of this unit..
Hmm...I don’t see how this would work for those of us with a Bean animal drain/siphonic drain line that runs inch or so below sumps water level in crash chamber. Surprised they didn’t make a compact design with a side intake midway up the unit like the Clarisea or Klir.
I see that it has 1 entrance and 2 exit lines. If the roller mat was placed above the sump and both exit lines were placed to connect from the roller mat to the sump is it possible to have it completed out of the water?
These roller mats seem to be the newest "Thang!"but I have heard that some roll the mat forward after a certain amount of time despite being clean. What say you all on this? Doc BC
Bulk Reef Supply I bet that Red Sea dream sump with their filter roller built in or a Geos Reef sump with their filter roller built in is pretty epic. Been wanting to put one in on one of our tanks just don’t have room for them unless I do a lot of modifications.
There are a handful of sumps out there that you can get with a fleece roller built-in, but they come at a higher price than adding a fleece roller to your existing sump. In some cases, like Geo or Royal Exclusive, a lot more! I am really considering using this in my Sapphire sump from Trigger, rather than getting a whole new Platinum sump (which is there version with a built-in fleece roller). Ultimately just gives more reefers, including those who made their own DIY sump, a way to incorporate a fleece roller without breaking the bank. :)
The more adds for stuff like this I see, the more people I think of who are running stuff like this, are stripping their tank completely of nutrients and wonder why they can’t keep coral alive. Nitrates and phosphates are GOOD as long as they’re within an acceptable range. Zero nitrates and phosphates will starve your corals to death and upset the bacterial balance in a reef tank, often resulting in cyano or dinoflagellate outbreaks.
Fair enough, but when used as a tool, rollermats can be ultra valuable. We agree that you can go overboard on filtration, however. Gotta find that right balance! 🙂
Bulk Reef Supply I could definitely see it being useful if you’re a reefer with a “high import, high export” style of reefing. As you noted it’s a tool and has a specific purpose and value. It’s up to us to implement tools as needed with the understanding of what each tool not only will do on its own, but what impact it’ll have when implemented with other tools.
Not a fan of having to tear the whole thing apart to replace the filter roll, be nice if they offset the inlet. Also the build material looks like that cheap brittle plastic.
A fair point. Changing filter socks is definitely less expensive, but just a little more work. Not the end of the world if you have more time than money like a lot of us 😉
It may be more expensive that filter socks, but those have to be cleaned too, wether your hand washing them. Throwing them in a washing machine with bleach, and the time it takes. Time is money and the more time you spend enjoying your tank and not cleaning it.. the better
Looks like a hazard and something I’d rather not deal with.... When dealing with something mechanical it’s only a matter of time before it breaks. Great video but no Thanks.

Best purchase I've ever made! Roll last forever, no nasty socks, just perfectly clean, clear water
I love mine! It’s the best design out there. It’s well made not like the other small ones that snap together and are made cheaply.
Thomas finally got me. Your adds payed off. I just ordered it. I was just on the phone with BRS for a pump and not I have new roller mat.
Just trying to help reefers find the gear that fits their needs! Glad I could help :D
0:40 That random peppermint shrimp on the filter sock.

so u have cut the cup holders right?
Hamza Hamid yes

we need this for fresh water aquarium maybe a little smaller though
It's like toilet paper for your tank!
Pretty much! 😆
can i use it with red sea 250 sump? please advice
Does that with a
Trigger 39 sump

Did you figure out a way?
Will this work in a waterbox marine x 35?
When will these be back in stock?
We've got a bunch ordered and now we're just waiting for them to be delivered from Germany. Soon! :)
I see that it has 1 entrance and 2 exit lines. If the roller mat was placed above the sump and both exit lines were placed to connect from the roller mat to the sump is it possible to have it completed out of the water?
The water exits out the bottom, so you'll need to have it slightly submerged in the sump.
These roller mats seem to be the newest "Thang!"but I have heard that some roll the mat forward after a certain amount of time despite being clean. What say you all on this? Doc BC
This one has a float switch, so the only way that it'll advance forward is if the fleece is dirty and the water level in the roller mat raises
Anybody know if it will fit in the rectangular space used to hold the filter socks in eshopp's sumps?
#RedSea needs to make one to fit into their sumos without modification! Is this better than the Clarisea?
Better is always relative, but we most typically use the Theiling around the BRS office. Super simple, easy to use, and easy to install 🙂

Is the fleece biodegradable?
Rarely, It's usually polyester based and if it was they would be using it as a selling feature, but they don't list what they make them from anywhere.
Fleece is not biodegradable
@@BRStv shouldn't that be included in the review?
The only issue with all these devices is they don't marry with most sumps ....consumers want this product married to a sump for a cleaner setup
Exactly. I wish Red Sea and/or Waterbox either came out with a version with a rollermat or a version that was more compatible.

I've seen them and even those look like an after thought and the price is rediculous....idk why it's not one big floss panel then fuge then return
Sadly these look to be discontinued.

i like it but... I'm not liking adding the cost of fleece to the budget. 😅 this hobby ain't for me

Lost me at 500gph
Fair enough. If you need a roller mat rated for higher flow rates, check out the Klir. They have a 7" model that can handle upwards of 1800 GPH
I'll stick with cleaning a filter sock instead of helping fill the environment with even more waste.
Composting...try it.
@@Matt-dc8lp So how do you compost polyester?
bigbowlowrong replied: "Do you even know what fleece is?😆" but i guess after looking into it after posting, realized he didn't...
It is not brs360 it is his 360

I'm afraid of anything mechanical, I walk everywhere, churn my own butter, and never trust my dishwasher to be left alone.
If you want, you could turn up that dreadful music and completely drownout what he's saying.
