It was definitely the number one. I couldn’t stop laughing for five minutes.
It'd be great to actually be shown the clips,maybe shut up and show us. Can't stand this format I'm out.
One of my favorites happened when Drew before a game mentions that Africa is a big country, which everyone corrects him on immediately and teases him about at several times in the episode. Like one time in Scenes from a Hat when the topic is something like Unusual Book Titles, Colin mimics picking up a book titled, “The Differences Between Continents and Countries.” I also liked the episode where Ryan apparently forgot how to whistle and everybody tries to teach him how to whistle in the end.

Not sure of his competitors to be honest, arguably.
Chip is very talented, he was incredible in Nashville. But Wayne is seriously incomparable. He's insanely good.
Chip, Brad, and Jeff weren't slouched.
I'm of the opinion things never 'went wrong' on Whose Line. Some of the greatest moments in the show happened when things didn't go exactly to script.
Helps that the only "scripted" part is the cards

Yeah, I imagine improv "going wrong" as being not funny at all or mortal injury.
My wife, my Mother and I nearly all died watching the Richard Simmons segment. My two young boys came in to the living room and had no idea what was happening and I couldn't talk properly to explain to them right at that moment, apparently I said "please guys, please" according to my eldest son years later. I'm posting this link to him so he may enjoy this with us and why we were a total mess at that time. This show and The Drew Carey Show were our lives in the 90's.
The Richard Simmons is the most hilarious bit of the show 🤣 🤣 🤣
I wont lie. Richard Simmons owned the show for that segment. That was so damn funny.
The way that the cast will grab something and run with it for a whole episode (or longer) is amazing.

Watched pretty much every episode twice. Wrong name in bed is still my favorite.
I can’t even breathe when I watch the show because I go into fits of uncontrollable laughter. Ever have a bad day? Watch an episode and things will change! 😂🤣
You know Drew lost it when he takes off his glasses because he was laughing so hard!
In another hysterical one, one of the tables with the two glasses of water and a water jug gets thrown off when someone falls into it, spilling the water everywhere. When the game is finished, the ones that still had their water were going "Ahh! More water? Sure!"

Wrong name in bed still makes me laugh and I've watched it probably close to 100 times. I'm not kidding.
The most hilarious for me were......
1- Tarzan Sound Effects
2- Pregnant Baby, Colin putting Baby back in his belly in Sound effects game
3- kaboom sounds effects
4- Colin " Come " from scene from the hat
5- Colin acting like a chicken going to the bathroom in the scene from the Hat,that had me laughing big time
it's such a travesty that the complete series of this show isn't released on DVD and Blu-ray. This show is Comedy gold and should always be remembered for generations to come. I've watched this show since I was a teenager back in 1998. And I still love this show to this day. So good.

When you've got literally EVERYONE doubled over in laughter, you've hit comedy GOLD. Exhibit A: The Richard Simmons/Living Scenery segment.
And the time Ryan's head broke that neon light on the desk? I eagerly anticipate that moment whenever I watch that game of Party Quirks. Scary at first but funny when looking back on it.
Whose line is truly a gift from god. The amount of fun laughter this show brings is priceless. I still watch these same old clips and get the same laugh all these years later. Awesome.

Can you make a list of running gags from Whose Line? My favorites are "Africa is a country", "Meow", and "Nice pants". XD
There's also one during a game of Superheroes. Wayne is usually the last one who comes in and gives the solution to the problem. In this one game, he accidentally knocked his wedding ring off his finger and forgot to give a solution. Colin even ended the game saying "I don't know if we solved the problem.".

There was an episode where they sang the Hoedown and I think it was with Brad Sherwood and he ended his line with 'I shot myself alive' and proceeded to break down. X'D I will never forget that line.

I love this show, it is my number one favorite show of all time and some of the best and most hilarious improv ever. Great list but you forgot the one when Drew mistakes Africa for the country
I loved the one with Robin Williams for the entire episode.

for #7, you said Ryan wasn't giving Colin anything to work with, but that's because the producers didn't give Ryan anything to work with! He even said at his chair about putting him in a place where there's absolutely no sound to make because I think it was like the North Pole or Antarctica or something like that

I would argue that taking something unexpected and incorporating it into the show is the definition of successful improv comedy
22:00 The setup for this one was in the middle of the Arctic... Not a place known for abundant life and sounds.
#21: Which is why in the previous taping of Greatest Hits where Colin says "We'll be right back to Humpty Dumpty!", Ryan cracks up on it.
Everyone on this show is brilliant, but Colin... Colin is the absolute BEST! I've never cried laughing so much than when Colin does his thing.

Richard Simmons part was funny but at the same time, I felt he was getting too uncomfortably close and personal with the cast like making Ryan want to kiss him and all that.

You know what makes Comedy better? DESCRIBING & OVEREXPLAINING THE FUNNY STUFF BEFORE AND INSTEAD OF SHOWING IT! Then using a variation of “Off the rails” about every 30 seconds.
If WM ever did a video on Abbott & Costello’s “Who’s On First?”, Rebecca’s voice over would be 1 minute of “… so then he goes OFF THE RAILS and describes the first baseman’s name as being ‘Who’ which leads Abbott to DERAIL the bit by asking if he was the one playing first base leading to a huge misunderstanding about the player names with wordplay confusing the name “Who” with a question inquiring as to the identity of the player. It’s hilarity that goes OFF THE RAILS!”with about 10 seconds of video of the actual famous routine.
