- Quick Tutorial on how to use the Boss RC-3 Loop Station. This is just for you to learn how to record loops since there is really no manual out there to explain it. Send me an email if you have any questions.
Such a great no nonsense guide!
This is the best tutorial video I've come across for the rc-3. Thank you so much for this bro.
Saved me hours of frustration thanks
Thanks for showing WHAT to do rather than 15 minutes of why you might want to. Very helpful to just get straight into it.
I haven't bought the Boss yet, but this video gives me an idea what I'm in for....not bad at all, in fact very simple to use....
Thank you. I could not figure out how to delete a song until I saw this video. Very helpful!
This was extremely helpful. Thank you. I had to go through 4 other videos of bullshit before I got to this one, which actually SHOWED you how to record and store your samples. Let this be a lesson to those other so-called "tutorials": Instead of just talking endlessly to hear your own voice, how about you show what the product really does the way this video did? Just saying'...
Frank, thank you for the informative demo. I'm a electronic bonehead when it comes to these things, but I saw it demo'd at the Winter NAMM in Anaheim, so I got one a couple of years ago. After not understanding the manual, I gave up on it and it sat in the closet. After deciding to almost sell it, I thought I would look for a new demo. When I used the word Tutorial I came upon your video. Now it's in constant use. Thanks again.
Helpful. Straight to the point. It’s late. I’m tired. Thank you very much!!!
Best video on description of how to use " tap tempo". Thanks.
Thank you Malcom. I wish I spent more time on this. Like you I was so confused on how to work it. I wish they had given more instruction.
most helpful for a complete beginner contemplating buying one
Thanks for this. I wasn't looking forward to actually reading that manual with the tiny letters!
Bought this right now.
Your tutorial helped me a lot to make the first steps.
Thank you.
THANK YOU THANK YOU.. so I just bought one coz I felt like a guitar and singing is too plain for me now so I wanted to challenge myself with this..AND it will be great help for my harmonies ❤️❤️
Very good demo, I just bought one of these today. This will save me some time, thanks for posting.
Thanks for this tutorial - it's basic, but basic is what I need to get started. Very useful.
Very good. I just bought this thing and now I know the basics, and I can figure out the rest. Great job and thank you.
The best tutorial video posted. You made if very fast and very easy. Making wise the simple is not easy.
Brilliant beginers tutorial. Well explained in simple terms. Thank you very much.
Thanks 🙂 that was ALOT better than searching for the instruction manual 😄
Thank you very much you made everything very clear. Take care. Mike.
Hey m very thankful to you for this. M planning to buy RC 3, and I was searching for such simple tutorial and I found this :)
quite literally the best video ever
...finally an informative tutorial that's helpful .....including someone that knows how to speak English .....thx much for posting ....cheers "
i couldnt figure out how to save it.. hit write twice! thanks man!
Thanks much ... cleared up a lot ...
Cool Thanks. Also thanks for keeping it quick and straight forward.
Very helpful thank you. I am a see and do gal & this got me started. Thanks again.
Thanks for that demo on the basics of the RC3. The first six demos on You tube told me nothing useful at all! I had the RC2 previously which as well as being a lot simpler to use worked in a totally different way. I found the manual fro the RC3 pretty useless in getting you up and running apart from being printed in microscopic type size...
Thanks!
Thank you for the quick response Frank, i'll give those conversion cables a look, my only doubt now is if it'll power up the mic using one of those... best regards!
You could also record WITH drums, for a solid tempo, and then just turn down the rhythm volume (if you don’t want to hear it). : )
That will be very helpful to know because I plan on adding the drums after the rhythm guitar (now that we have a drummer)
This was very helpful. I have been trying to save a loop.
Great tutorial. Simple, to the point. Helped me.
Hi Fender Fan. Thank you so much for the nice words. It is a cool little machine isn't it? I use it all the time to test writing music. I love how it just keeps looping and looping so you can try different things.
Frank, Thanks for sharing the basic tutorial. I appreciate it. Stan
Thanks for posting this! I just got mine, and this was extremely helpful in getting started,
Amazingly concise and helpful tutorial. Thanks!!
Great video. Thanks. Just got one to help with my practicing!
Good beginners tutorial, I wish I could have seen the red recording light with it. Thanks again.
thanks for taking the time to make this lesson , saved me hours :)
Good beginners intro. Thanks. Very helpful.
thx im very gratefull that you explain how it realy works thx for sharing!
greetings from Holland!
Very clear tutorial, thanks! :)
Thankyou very much indeed.
May I add for the benefit of others that if you want to hook up a microphone make sure you get a XLR to mono jack. Got mine today and fiddled for a long time with a stereo cable before I was put right with a call to Guitar Center.
This is really helpful - thank you so much
Thanks so much! Great vid, straight to the point :)
best tutorial yet, thank you
Thank you for making this mate! Legend!
This was awesome, thank you for the help! Very straightforward.
Thanks for this! Yours is the best video for this pedal
Thanks, very useful for begginers
thank you very simple alot was explained now i get how to use it. picked one of these up 15 dollars at a gradge sale
wow! sweet deal haha
Thanks a lot for your great video tutorial on the rc3 !!!
Cheers!
Thanks, very nice demo. Are there any other really good loop stations on the market that's easier to understand?
thanks for the tutorial, of we have a saved track. can we delete it the same way as shown or how can we select the desired track ( if we had multiple tracks saved)? thanks again.
This is a nice intro thanks!
The only other thing I might add is that it appears that there is a setting for autostart. i.e. the loop starts when you start playing. That would presumably help with matching the timing at the beginning.
Anyway... nice tutorial for beginners like me.
Thanks for the great instruction.
super helpful = just bought one used - ty!
Thanks for your video. Just wondering how would you record using a loop pedal? Because on most tutorial videos including yours the output is plugged into speakers. So say you're using a Boss RC-30 with two inputs (mic and guitar) and you want to record the whole performance... would you have to put a mic on the speaker or something? Sorry not the best with the tech stuff haha
thanks a lot, very easy to understand.
thank you rocker . i bought RC 3 today and you helped to find the point of start with that. do you thinking i need to connect to usb for update software or no? thx a lot from japan
Thanks so much I really needed this
Exactly what i was looking for, thanks.
Thank you for getting right to the point. Very informative. I didn't have to listen to some as...hole playing guitar for 20 mins bf he starts talking
Thanks that was very helpful !
Thank you very much that video was most helpful😊
Great help. Thank you!
Great explanation! Thank you.
That was very helpful, thanks!
Thank you so much for this intro. Timing and sync are critical. Can you clarify if the Boss RC-3 allows for an initial phrasing longer than a 4-beat measure? And if so, how do I set the length of my initial loop phrase? Thanks!
Super helpful thanks man.
thanks. I finally understand this pedal.
Great stuff! Any chance you can do one where you connect it to the PC and get the tunes off and on via USB?
You can use a mixer or you can find a cable that plugs into your MIC and then converts to a 1/4 inch guitar like cable. I don't really use acoustic instruments other than the guitar and my guitar has a cable output so I can hook it directly into the loop station
Good tutorial! Tyvm.
Thank you, man! Very helpful video
That helped me !..thanks a lot !
Thank you for the lesson
don't worry, it was helpfull ! Thanks
Is there any way to delete individual overdubs? Like not just the last one?
Big help, thanks!
Thanx bud good tutorial
thank you it was helpful
Great stuff! Thanks.
Hi, not that I know of. I think this one is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Basically the hard part is getting that first loop recorded right. i like to start playing a verse of two and then tap my foot on the pedal on the third repetition and then tap my foot on the last note of the loop. The other option is to record to Garage Band and then loop it with the tool they have. That is pretty easy but its harder because you have to do all the work on the computer
there is a munual but small text lol..so everything helps ..clear concise no stupid rocking tack in the background many thanx
When you press twice to stop, will it go from the beginning of the loop, or where you stopped when you start it again?
There is no mic jack so you need to use a converter cable that will take the mic cable and convert it to guitar. I don't really use the loop station for vocals just for the background tracks and then record the vocals using Garage Band
can you play an mp3 via the aux in to use backing track without converting it to a wav or somthing?
Hy !! Does it erase the whole loop work when you switch it off or ot has an internal memory ? Greath tutorial, thanks.
mine keeps the loops in memory even after it is turned off
Yup, doesn’t erase (once you’ve saved it).
Mine does erase.. what model do you guys have?
Thanks so much for this
Ok, got this the other day and have been trying to set it up with my MicroKorg Synthesizer. I've connected the Microkorg from the headphone jack to the RC-3 with a short standard guitar/pedal cable via input A. I've then connected the some PC speakers into output A, but I'm only getting a sound from one speaker. If I remove the pedal and connect directly from the speakers into the synth I get both speakers working again. What i'm I doing wrong?
The A input and output are Mono. That basicaly means the sound wil be only played from 1 place. If you have guitar amp or just 1 big amplifier it doesn´t really matter but when you have multiple speaker it will play from just 1. If you plug it into the B input and output both speakers should play. Hope it helps and actually works since I don´t own RC-3 and I´m more or less speculating.
Thanks for the reply! I sorted it out the other day, ended up getting an RC30 and some extra cables for the synth to allow stereo and using this one for the guitar. The mono/stereo cable thing seems obvious now, but I've never set up any audio equipment like this before so it's never really occurred to me.
Thank you for the video! And would you know if I can plug a xlr mic (like the behringer C1) directly in the rc-3, so I can loop acoustic instruments?
Well done. Concise. Some point out the camera angle blocking the lights, but I just took you at your word. Ha. Does anyone know how to use the USB port? It looks unusual.
Awesome. Thank you!!
nice video dude
very helpful thanks
Can I save the loop while it’s sill being played
And.. can I switch to other phrase just after saving before clicking stop?
Thank you
Is it possible to use multiple instruments? Or an instrument and a microphone?
