Great talk. Can be summarised in a sentence: "Every time a group of people DECIDE to decentralise the web, they are, de facto, going towards centralisation." Decentralisation just happens through genuine adoption of specific protocols, it is not humanly engineered. :)
i'll press the one social metadata standard button (binary thumbs up option). Is the antidote to egos and charismatic leaders turning the standards process over to machines? Even if everyone could have their own vote or fork, it is hard to imagine some kind of natural equilibrium evolving.
