In 2008 or 2010 David didn't score in semifinal or final. He was pivotal in both championships, off course. But, those guys were too much talented and determined.

David Villa was missed against Chelsea in 2012. If he wasn't injured he would have smoked Chelsea out. As Messi attracted the defenders the space will be there for him to exploit and cause overheated damage

They wouldn't have believed in him at Real Madrid. By that time the spanish national team wasn't winning trophies and it was very difficult for spanish players to be on the starting lineup. Spanish players didn't have the star power to be trusted by default. They got rid of Morientes really fast even when he always performed great in Real Madrid, for example.
