Thanks for the fair review, Julia. We Argentinians tend to be exaggerated about safety because 30 years ago the safety levels were insanely high (people left their street doors open without keys). We always compare our situation with our best eras so we are never satisfied about it lol.
Buenos Aires is nicknamed: "Paris of America", and it's no coincidence: In mid-19th century Paris was demolished and rebuilt as we know it today, shortly after Buenos Aires was also demolished and rebuilt in the likeness of Paris, with its architectural styles of that time: beaux arts/academicism-art nouveau/deco, with the layout of large avenues/boulevards/ diagonals, and proliferation of parks, like Paris
Looks like you got a bit too much rain. I would say best seasons to visit Buenos Aires are in fact spring and fall. So not too hot and not too cold but still sunny.
Buenos Aires tiene un aire a Paris, Madrid, Milan, New York, pero se diferencia en que Madrid no tiene semejanza con Paris, ni Paris con New York, los porteños tenemos una ensalada de frutas deliciosas.

The best time to visit is actually from mid-September to the end of November, in other words, in spring. There's a lot of sunny days, the Jacaranda trees are in full bloom and even though it's warm, it's usually between 18- 28 C, which makes it perfect to walk around the city, drink a nice coffee or mate, but also enjoy the sun and a nice ice cream in the afternoon. As you very well point out, being a person who has travelled extensively myself, Buenos Aires is SAFE. If you listen to Argentinians, you'll be horrified, but it's just the hyperbolic nature of the people there. I have lived in northern Europe and I currently live in the US and I feel safer in Buenos Aires than certain parts of Italy, Madrid and don't even get me started on US cities...
Nope, the best times to visit BA are Spring or Autumn, Summer is too hot and stuffy, too humid. The best plan would be to visit BA at the end of Spring and then, just before Summer starts, pay a visit to the Atlantic coast where you'll find beaches, sea, beautiful cities (Pinamar, Mar del Plata) and fresh nights.

2 things 1) You should inform yourself well, the Argentine peso these months is gaining value against the dollar, it is not devaluing, you are stating that the opposite is happening, you are managing to confuse people 2) You talk about the insecurity in South America, that you have a panic attack, for being European I am surprised that you do not know the situation in Europe, about the insecurity in the main capitals like Paris or London due to uncontrolled immigration, do you perhaps live within a bubble or a remote European town? If you are going to give an opinion about a country, first inform yourself

Quite interesting! ❤
looks an amazing mix of culture and attractions.

Hi great blog. We are heading to BA next October. The dance show looked great - where was that please!

Thanks god we are far from anywhere ..
Isn’t that foreign credit cards are charged nearly the same as the blue dollar rate now? Cash sounds old news?
Close to blue rate if you use Visa.
Beautiful chaos. People mad for living
