Thanks for this. Love the channel and especially these design build implement fixes.

Yes, my cap plugs on the steering tower did the same thing, hard one day and melting the next. Trust me, if you don't catch it right away the mice move in. Interesting setup you have there for making up parts...definitely would come in handy.

I have found the best filament to use now is the prusa polycarbonate filled with carbon fiber. Yes you do need a hardened nozzle with the stuff is extremely strong, high heat tolerant, dimensionally stable and you don't need a heated chamber

Been there. Both door handles stopped working at same time from 2 different problems and had to take turret cover off to get back
    inside.

Oh, now that would suck. Since I have the roof rack, my only option would be to cut my way through the crawl through door from the habitat.

Finding plugs that actually fit is difficult!
I replaced all my latches with BearClaw hot rod stuff. I can't believe you have your 3D printer with you.

The printer lives in the crawl through when it’s not in use.

East coast heat and humidity can ruin old plastic and rubber.

I replaced all my clips with these little Mazda clips. I still have some extra.

@@nathanmeyer3855 do you remember for which Mazda those clips were for and did you have to modify them?

Does it get hot inside that column? I've seen hole plugs, grommets, etc go from being rubbery and pliable one day, to breaking down and dissolving the next when the plasticizers used in the rubber hit a breaking point from heat.

I 100% think it was a temperature issue. The column doesn’t get much heat normally, but the cab got smoking hot a few days, before I made some sun shades.
