How is Mach 6 compared to Saucony Kinvara 14? I really enjoy every ride with Kinvara 14 lightweight and feel fast. I am looking for a better durability and still Snappy fast lightweight shoes replacement. Aside Asics Novablast 4 as option cause i would like to keep a running shoes as walking shoes once retired their day. The Minimalist traditional running shoes still my personal eyes of beholder, Mach 6 have done it right. Yeah i do have a Rincon 3 as my casual walking shoes now. Nice design which never get out-fashioned.
Just got the Gaviota 5 and I am enjoying them. Now looking for something that would allow me to pick up the pace for race day but still offer some stability. Can't wait to try these!!
Curious for mach 6, rebel 4, speed 4, + 1 other plated performance trainer comparison- Specifically, how plated / vs unplated stiffness aids in the performance and experience.
This shoe really is narrow. Whenever I try a shoe that's described as narrow by reviewers I end up finding it to be fine. This is the first one where I just couldn't handle it. I tried US 11.5 and 12 and even in the 12 my big toe could be seen poking through where the toe box tapers. The midsole felt fantastic in store, which means little, but first impressions were good. In contrast I also tried the Rebel V4 which had almost too much width, but the midsole felt awful. Again, just in store. It felt almost like negative drop and just felt dead. It felt nothing like I was expecting.
@@RainbowCharade I didn't end up getting a chance to try the wide. I did try the standard width again with very thin socks. It felt a touch better, but was still too narrow. The salesperson was of he impression that the wide may be too wide and I wasn't as impressed by the overall feel this time either. I also would have had to get them delivered and I'm sick of returning shoes. And because I'm sick of returning shoes I've developed a bad habit of getting stuff delivered, trying it and thinking it may feel better on the run and then quickly realising that... nah it's the pretty much what it felt like running up and down the hallway. Long story short, I bought the Speed 4 and they've been great.
the mach 5 was ridiculously wide in the toe box which i liked, compared to most other hoka shoes. I hope they havent gone over the top in this version and made it too narrow
I have very similar feel about Mach 6, except that I find it a little firm-ish, so definitely not a shoe when your legs are beat up. Other than that, very SNAPPY and nimble shoe. The lightness is arguably its biggest selling points. Not even the foam (foam is better in, say, Endorphin Speed, for the same purpose), even though it's good, but the weight. Your legs just want to move fast.
Matt, what do you know about instep size and the influence on the width of a shoe? Because on paper, My feet both measure an E width (left foot measured a high D but pretty close to E), but my feet aren’t necessarily large. So I can fit in most narrow lasts. For example, The puma velocity nitro 3 fits me fine and that shoe is definitely considered narrow by most.
I had mach 5 and had 1200km on it, i feel it to be responsive and fast, but I personally don't like the design and i hate how squishy it sounded on tiles or hardwood because of the foam
Are they soft enough for an easy day shoe? I like soft but not mushy (like the Nimbus, More V4, Bondi etc.) I enjoyed the Triumph and to a certain extent the Pegasus
Definitely! The scf on the Mach 6 gives a similar bounce to the dual density of peba of the rocket x2 - obviously not as responsive but for interval training it does a great job.
The eva foam is entirely supercritical this time so much more bouncy than previous models where the supercritical was just on the underfoot There is wide options too (I would go half size up in any situation)
The Mach 6 is not? Oh no, I thought because of the little higher stack + little softer than Noosa Tri 16 (according to tests) it should have a better shock absorption for my 90kg midfoot striker (i try to) with meniscus problems.
Just my opinion... The hoka cielo x is.. particularly as like you I'm 90kg plus. Its the best shoe iv tested from hoka and you can use it for the same runs as mach 6
I just love how much you love running shoes
Checked the official website.
Yes, Mach 6 has a WIDE version.
Looking forward to this new Mach 6 (I LOVE the Mach 5!😁)
Awesome Vlog on the Mach 6, just wondering how this shoe would go against the Puma Deviate Nitro 2's?
I’ve never heard anyone say “I wish this Hoka running shoe was narrower”. Hoka…”this shoe is too wide”.
Gaviota 5 and Stinson 7 are probably the only ones that fit slightly wider
I always have to size up half a size with Hokas due to my wide forefoot
For me there is no such things as too narrow! 😂
This is absolutely not too narrow and I like a wide toebox. The upper is great with give in the right places.
The Mach 5 was / is an excellent shoe. Many shoetubers rated it as one of the best daily trainers of 2023.

Hoka offers this shoe in a wide fit. Only one colourway option (black).
I’m curious how you’d compare it to the New Balance Rebel.
I too am curious on a Rebel V4 / Mach 6 comparison
I had to return my size 9 UK and exchange for the size 9 wide fit.
Strange sizings by Hoka !! Never before bought a wide fit. Good shoe though.

Same experience with the width. Mach 5 was ok for me, Mach 6 too narrow even one size up. Ordered the wide version and it's much better.
Did you try the wide yet??

It comes in wide but with limited color options.

So this is better than Saucony Endorphin Speed 4?
Two different concepts . The speed has a plate this doesn’t . I have the Mach 6 and it my favourite running trainer of all time time so far .
End. Speed is 40 euros more expensive. A bit better and a bit more expensive.
I had mach 5 and had 1200km on it, i feel it to be responsive and fast, but I personally don't like the design and i hate how squishy it sounded on tiles or hardwood because of the foam
Matt, did you ever get mileage on this one. I ask because I chew through shoes as well as I am a heel striker like you .
WIDE version available 😉

I have Nimbus 25 and the Mach 6 is much firmer. The M6 also a little bit firmer than the Mach 5 in my opinion.
Good training companion for the Rocket X2?
Definitely! The scf on the Mach 6 gives a similar bounce to the dual density of peba of the rocket x2 - obviously not as responsive but for interval training it does a great job.
Is this a later color way? Do you know when it will be released ?

Is the toe box the same as machine 5? I fit pretty good on mach 5. What are your thoughts about Mach X
Mach 6 or the Saucony Ride 17 as a one daily trainer for everything?
New Balance Rebel V4
@@karls8989People have reported that reb v4 loses its pop very very quickly. Like under 50 miles 😬
@@karls8989 too wide and soft i suppose
at 0:46 "men size 9 coming at 7.4oz and women size 8 coming at 7.6oz"?
Ok, one of these numbers must be incorrect...
M10: 8.2oz, W8: 6.7oz (This is from the HOKA tech sheet)
I feel like this shoe isnt that bouncy and soft... And not that forgiving on the legs
