- The FJ40s burning oil like no other. About a quart every 100 miles or so. I needed to locate a motor to swap in while I figure out what to do with the 2F in the 40. In walks this little number from FB marketplace. The seller is a builder out of Colorado who does engine swaps. Lucky me, the owner of this pristine 1984 FJ60 wanted some more power. And I just wanted to quit burning oil… so I bought the engine sight unseen and luckily my Aunt Tami let me store it at her place in Utah.

Skyrockets in flight! Afternoon delight. Thanks for the entertainment
Outta sight my man.’b
The materials to make that probably cost more than a hoist. Then again it wouldn't have been near as entertaining. Thank you for risking your life for us!
Always happy to show the most difficult path 😆
The loading was so funny...and...we love you too 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks koko
For the record, and as an Egyptian, you guys did an amazing job.
High praise from the best builders around! Appreciate the feedback 😆
Wow that was close, i’m glad Went well. Fantastic show as always👍👏👏👏🤩
Easy does it 😆
I'm glad you're back...hope the motor works out.
Me too buddy. Me too.
I watch shows where they have every imaginable tool... seeing that squat rack as an engine hoist is so relatable for us home DIY'ers 😂
It worked man! That’s all that matters in the end.
Awesome score with the engine! Good luck with the swap.
I’ll need all the positive thoughts and prayers baby.
That's a LOT of effort just to avoid Ben using the engine crane again ;)
My cousin straight up said he has a friend down the street with a fork lift 😆
Another great video Ben. Your camera girl rocks too. Thx for sharing. Good luck with that motor. I'm still fighting with my stuck distributor that I need to rotate to time it.
Keep up the fight! It’s worth it when it kicks over.
I remember watching you dropping the first motor I watch every every episode and this episode was very entertaining just like all your others you two always put a smile on my face
Just trying to show the struggle, appreciate you watching it man.
I love you too big boy 😘
😆 you’ll always be one of my favorite scots.
We love you too…😂
You knew what I meant… 😆
Reminds me of a Three Stooges movie.
Excellent comparison!
Please don't hit me in the nuts 😆
Right?! That’s a valid request.
Awesome, your 2f has a oil cooler!
Gonna run this one. Should help!
Great engine. Did the seller happen to mention why it was pulled? Very cool.
The owners of the FJ60 wanted more power. So the brought it to the builder for a v8 swap. The builder, tossed it on Fb for cheap and I managed to snag it. It was a runner the whole time.
You could’ve added a ratchet strap around the platform base to prevent splaying. Curious if a strap could do that.
Not a bad idea.
(This is the engineer cousin), I’ve been thinking about it and I know why it splayed out now. The weight of the engine was just fine, but when we ratcheted it down to the platform the extra compression was what caused the screws to fail
Ah. Engineer stuff.
@@tomdraper1107 I’ll need to see your math. 😏
Luckily you don’t need my math, because I have none 😆
Hey I love videos and I saw you have a part that I need for my fj40 and would love to buy it from you please
What is it you need?
@@projectwrongway9127 I need the ac bracket that you got on the new engine
What would really love to buy it from you please
@@jervoncorbie283 you have an email for contact?
@projectwrongway9127 yes I do
Never seen a 2f with a egr and oil cooler
It’s for an 84’ FJ60 with all the smog trash.
Must be a US thing haha you won’t need that in the 40
I’m always happy to yank it off.
How many Land Cruisers have you now lol
4 ish… but two of them will be my runners.
What are you going to do with the old engine? Does it just need a rebuild? Looking for a 2F myself.
Just needs a rebuild, I have a friend who is interested in it at the moment.
@@projectwrongway9127 If it falls through let me know
He’s claimed it bro, otherwise it’d be up for grabs.
