Hi mate. I’m a professional tiler. I have learnt so much from you with plumbing. Thank you. I use kerakol adhesive as it lasts 4 hours in the bucket. Pot life. And around 24 mins open time, when trowelled onto a surface. Intricate work I mix up small batches by hand and keep the bucket covered with a damp towel as much as possible. 6mm trowel with those tiles and I would of floated the wall with rapid set the day before and not try to use the tile mix to lay the tiles. You can see the issues with the tile adhesive pushing through the tiles especially with clips. Your first row of tiles you installed off your Batton I would of troweled a small amount of rapid set , enough for 1 row onto the wall. Back butter tiles flat around 1mm and wait 5 mins. Lay the first row and get a coffee etc. half hour later you know have firm tiles to run off. Especially as these are at angles off the Batton. I wouldn’t use clips with these tiles. They can cause more issues. Realy only needed on large format tiles etc. Your troweled mix was to wet and was also collapsing causing you more issues as I’m sure you were aware. You did amazing but if you do the above in future you will hardly have any adhesive to clean off the tile and grout lines in preparation for grout. Hope that helps james. Love your videos. They have improved my plumbing massively. I’ve just started a channel. Oxfordshire pro tiling. I’ve made a star ceiling video which you might like to see. I need to learn how to edit etc. Keep up the great work mate. Loved the video with your dad. Heartfelt 👍
All of what you just said is why I say "Call a professional tile man." I think laying tile might be the only thing that can compound mistakes better than laying tongue and groove flooring.😂 And be harder to correct, once it becomes really obvious 4 or 5 courses down the line.😮
Kudos for the entire job, James! I used to work for a general contractor and am a homeowner, so I can do frame and trim carpentry, electrical wiring, and residential plumbing. My tiling experience consists of telling people, "Pick a color palette and call a tile man. I know a guy that does good work." I learned a lot, that hopefully I will not have to put to practical use. 😂
You keep saying you're not a professional tiler, but you look like a pro to me. Amazing work. Just caught up with all of this series and looking forward to it continuing!
Great job..... I normally try to show my wife your videos. It I will not be showing her these ones on the bathroom..... "oh Dan they look nice" is how it all starts in our house before I have a few weeks or months of swearing while I try to do the job lol
When we've tiled walls we've always dragged the adhesive across the wall, this is because it's less likely the tile will sag. you can see on your first row where the far right tile sags. None the less that looks great, don't think I'll ever do anything as complicated!
Nice job. Wherever I go - hotels, bathrooms, kitchens, etc I look at tiles and the work never looks great and I assume it's the pro's who have done the job. I do my own tiling, takes me ages but I get the results I'm looking for.. (much like everything else I do DIY)
What would you change? The price?😀 Only joking just to say I've long since learnt when pricing a full job is to price on what tiles the customer wants, especially if mosaics of feature walls are concerned 👍As you pointed out mate so many tilers are gona watch this with there own views on how this particular job should be carried out and we all have our own ways of doing things. I'm just glad it's you doing the job and not me 😀
I'm not sure he did but back buttering or just a spread is so worth the time and effort! Should be fine anyway but a back buttered tile onto a troweled out wall makes for superior adhesion👍
I like the tiles, but I couldn't cope with all the faffing. I think you meant lens distortion instead of chromatic aberrations. As a photographer CA is nightmare on cheaper lens, but I'm sure you haven't got any on your video footage. Great work
its not chromatic aberration distorting the laser, it's just lens distortion.- chromatic aberration is when the RGB splits and ghosts the image. yeah I'm that dick in the comments!
I've never seen a 3d tile effect before. When you had them laid out on the carpet. It really looks like you are sitting next to a pile of 3d boxes. It is an amazing illusion.
Mate I’m a bathroom fitter / tiler Why didn’t you put bath in first??? I always always put bath in get it levelled and make sure it’s 100% sealed in ! Then tile on top of bath, and it’s sealed in there again, Seems to me tiling first and then installing bath afterwards is more agro, and why haven’t you bothered to cut in the bits of tiles against the door frame ? Come on don’t get lazy, As always as a pro watching others do it I can see things you do that ain’t helping yourself but I’m sure you would like that when I’m doing pipe work! I started buying them clips and wedges about 10 yrs ago I see them on a big commercial flooring job ! Game changer for me and I started using them on big format floor tiles to start with, but to be honest use them on most jobs , if something makes it easier for you and helps you do a better job then it’s a no brainier ! End result looked good , well done! Shame people don’t really understand when they go and buy tiles how much extra work something like this is!!! Nothing like quoting for a job expecting it to be straight forward and then you get there and it something like this or a herringbone 🤦🏻♂️
TH-cam getting rid of the dislike button is possibly the dumbest thing they've ever done. Idiots!

Brilliant job James, it's a finnish to be proud of. Thanks for sharing.
Well done Jimmy! Hope you had a beer or two after that mare of a job, I admired your patience
You keep saying you're not a professional tiler, but you look like a pro to me. Amazing work. Just caught up with all of this series and looking forward to it continuing!
Nice video! I hope the tilling community can now learn how to tiling properly.
What a transformation with the white grout.
Yeah that's always the bit that brings it together....and shows if you've got anything wrong!
Looks amazing James! Love the 3D effect! Looking forward to the next vid 👊🏻
Great job..... I normally try to show my wife your videos. It I will not be showing her these ones on the bathroom..... "oh Dan they look nice" is how it all starts in our house before I have a few weeks or months of swearing while I try to do the job lol
I must say, it looks amaizing, fantastic job.
Well done you, go have a beer!
Lol
Great work, I always enjoy your videos thankyou.
Thanks very much brooooo
Been looking forward for this video James 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video James. It looked like you enjoyed shaking the tile protector 😂😂👍👍
Amazing job James as always and the handy tip/methods, but especially the comedy during tile
Good Saturday morning to you sir and your family
Hi James
In the beginning you mention a previous video of the adjacent wall - I cant seem to find that video, has it disappeared ?
Amazing work, looks perfect 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice tiles. Wouldn’t want to look at them for too long after a night out on the razz. The room would spin for sure 😂
Top Job James.. thanks for giving us some pointers ..
Loved it😎😎👍👍 Hurry up with the bath install, ours is in the sitting room waiting for you me how to fit it!
How long in real days/time has this total bathroom taken so far
Nice job mate. If you did a full bathroom instillation would you do the tiling your self or do you have a tiler that you use?
Hello, good stuff. Did you use a smaller trowel for that bottom bit around the taps?
When we've tiled walls we've always dragged the adhesive across the wall, this is because it's less likely the tile will sag. you can see on your first row where the far right tile sags.
None the less that looks great, don't think I'll ever do anything as complicated!
Brilliant job mate using the tiles I sell every day at Topps Tiles 👍
Where did you get those tiles from? Think they look pretty sick!!
Love your grouting song. How it didn’t make number one I’ll never know.
Beautiful job!!
Man I'm a tiler/bathroom fitter by trade and that is a very difficult job, well done mate 👍
Damn this guys is hilarious 😂parts of this video where his being silly got me laughing so loud, my wife thinks I'm bonkers🤣
Sou Brasileiro adorei seu trabalho parabéns
Nice job. Wherever I go - hotels, bathrooms, kitchens, etc I look at tiles and the work never looks great and I assume it's the pro's who have done the job. I do my own tiling, takes me ages but I get the results I'm looking for.. (much like everything else I do DIY)
Probably on a price for the job and just needs to be passable. Sad really but reality
Looks great, love the effect

We use that grout spray all the time we don’t spray the tile I just work vertical and horizontal on the grout lines want atleast about 4-5 coats
They look absolutely brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Did you put any adhesive on the back of those tiles ??
I'm not sure he did but back buttering or just a spread is so worth the time and effort! Should be fine anyway but a back buttered tile onto a troweled out wall makes for superior adhesion👍
Yep all back buttered. Most important bit!
What laser level do you have
He said Bosch
Its a great job well executed but im just not sure of the finised look tbh...
Nice tiling. Is this your gaff or a customer’s?
The bottom tile on the right against the door frame killed me on the inside 😂
Why are you using a tile levelling system on a perfectly flat substrate.
Haha think I laugh more at your vids than any other 😂
You been on the sun bed with your t-shirt on?!
Ken from huds tilling would of done that in half the time and less faffing about 😂😂😂 very good effort james 💪💪💪
Wheres the video for tiling the other Wall?
Showing off now 😜
Just a tip !
I use baby wipes to clean off the powdery grout of the tiles !! 🧐
I like the tiles, but I couldn't cope with all the faffing. I think you meant lens distortion instead of chromatic aberrations. As a photographer CA is nightmare on cheaper lens, but I'm sure you haven't got any on your video footage. Great work
This is where geometry class from GCSE Maths comes into play.
I tiled a bathroom floor with 3d tiles. It made me feel dizzy. Had to go home and drink some home brew afterwards.
Haha, that made me laugh out loud
its not chromatic aberration distorting the laser, it's just lens distortion.- chromatic aberration is when the RGB splits and ghosts the image.
yeah I'm that dick in the comments!
Spectacular!!!!!
Mate, if you dont want your tiles to sag and slide, trowel your adhesive on horizontally, not vertically 😉
Soooo... I'm gonna try this as a splashback in my kitchen... pray for me 🤣
Great work
Cheers!
I've never seen a 3d tile effect before. When you had them laid out on the carpet. It really looks like you are sitting next to a pile of 3d boxes. It is an amazing illusion.
Maybe starting from the top of the bath would of prevented the slipping of tiles aha
aha another one who doesn’t listen aha

There’s another video where he’s created some levelled battening for bath so he can put it afterwards.
Saves tiling while stood in it, great idea IMO.
Note to self avoid 3D tiles , just guna push are lass past em 🤣
Please do....or buy 3d tiles/service revolver/bottle of whiskey...
You’re not a tiler
So you said in an earlier upload
Now you are?
Nah I’m not. Hate tiling and tiles!
You'll never be on Top Of The Pops........Great tiling though )
Maybe as a presenter...
Phuck that, it looks so hard I'm not even going to watch it 😁
James tilers should not be plumbing and plumbers should not be tiling
Looks the bollocks mate. Hate tiling.
