Well, what can you say but - DAAAAANG! You guys made out fantastically!!! I want a nice area to search in, but desert just doesn't get you all the rings and bottles just sitting in your scoop! Great video!
one question please...I am doing beach hunting at the mediterranean sea .....what is your suggestion to me ;..whites beach hunter 300 or something else;......I want a detector for wet and dry sand....I am working the last six years with Tesoro lobo.BIG respect from me
If your not going in the water, a Minelab Sovereign is a great inexpensive detector, i have ne and love it, a friend of mine swings a whites DFX on the same salt water beaches and does very well also, you can get either lne used for around 300 euros. Good luck.
That Hudson Valley Railroad lead seal, must be real old because I have never heard of it and I'm living just over the Mtn. from the Hudson Valley Region. .Also, I have worked on a railroad for over 20 odd years, on the Hudson Valley line. Great Finds !!!
+Roy Coll - Someone must have worked on the RR and tossed these into the water 100+ years ago. Each one has NYC HRRR on one side and then the name of an upstate town on the other. So far I have see Schenectady, Rome, & Utica on the other side. If you google Hudson River Railroad, there is a history. I typed in Hudson Valley before and that was mistake, its actually Hudson River Railroad and not Hudson Valley.
ur finds were outstanding, including the little seahorse, is the water just very corrosive in salt? When u mentioned the pier that explained all the broken glass coming up in ur scoop. Not a good place to be barefooted but sure lots of excellent finds, thanks for sharing...
+Dylan T - Are you kidding??? Half the fun of finding stuff is letting your buddy know as soon as you find it ;-) Mike has returned the favor many times!!!
+DetectorComparisons it definitely must be! It's all exciting(: I think maybe cutting a bit of the audio parts out wouldn't be too bad of an idea though. I suppose everyone enjoys different types of videos.
Wow nice diamond stone dammmm, if I was there I would have been digging many more targets I use to did between 50-60 an hour wow. You guys need to dig more targets then will see even more good targets. But still nice finds for 3 hours. Good work!!!
I have watched all the vids from your hot spot. I can't believe how many gold rings you guys pulled out of there. I wish I could find an area like that here in Montreal.. awesome finds!!!!
I sure enjoy your videos - l think you folks passed into expert level quite some time ago. One think l thought l might suggest for some of those wicked fishing hooks you put in your diving bag on other videos. Throw some corks in your bag and use them to stick the hook points in, might save you getting stuck. Please keep churning out videos - this old coot looks forward to new ones.
Very cool gold and diamond ring, lead seals, bottles, buffalo nickel, silver quarter and military silver rings! Unbelievable seahorse!!! Wow.Big congrats on your 14 kt gold rings. AMAZING HUNT Carter & Mike.
MIKE, MIKE, MIKE LOL LOL LOL I also bought the same scoop thinking with the smaller holes in the rear all of the small to tiny targets would stay in the scoop. Boy oh boy I am in for a bad surprise watching this video. GL HH & God bless
Coral/crust can grow even on 24K gold bars. Only if they have been in the water long enough though. Sunken treasure like 200+ years old will have has coral/crust on it. Great finds, keep @ it and HH !!
+MUDSWAT - you are correct about coral crust being able to grow on anything including pure gold. What is happening here is different; the other metals in the gold corrode and the green crust forms. 10K gold is only about 41.7% pure so this corrosive water is attacking the other metals. Even 14K is only about 58% pure and some of the 14K rings found here have had green spots. The 18K rings have all come out with no corrosion but they are discolored. I've been salt water hunting for long time and I have never seen the conditions so harsh.
Great finds! But, where are the diving videos? You haven't diving for a long time! Can you go back to diving please? I know you're back at this hot spot all over. :)
You probably did not see the description of the video, I'll post it again here:"What was once an old beach is now a dump site loaded with glass and Iron. You'll see red fragments and glass in virtually every scoop, even with the good stuff!"If we were to remove glass, our pouch would be filled in the first 20 minutes....
I love all the haters....my 12 year old son says.....daddy I thought you were suppose to get rid of all the trash you find....lol. Time to grow up 12 yr old. Your videos are great some people just don't get how guys are competitive and like to one up each other....keep on saying Mike....means you are doing well. Great stuff
Nice find but lets hope that no sharks come after you thinking you are an injured fish because you are constantly shaking your scoop in the water and its early in the morning.
Some great finds from a great spot. However, wasn't impressed with the glass you kept throwing back, neither was my 12 year old son. His response was "I thought we were supposed to take the trash with us." Bit of a let-down.
I know why he did that. You would have to have a wheel barrel or two to carry away all of the glass. I also hunt in a area that was either a dump, pier, or cinder dump. Some sort of good shoes is mandatory to wade in the water. I find lots of coins. People see me in the water and ask if it's safe? I show them the amount of glass in each scoop. Soooo to remove all the glass is impossible.
Darren, If you read the description of the video, its pretty clear; I'll paste it here again...."What was once an old beach is now a dump site loaded with glass and Iron. You'll see red fragments and glass in virtually every scoop, even with the good stuff!" Thousands of pounds of glass around this dock/swim site is no exaggeration.
Glass.... does nothing. It's made of sand. How about you and your son go pick up trash that really is harming the waters, like insane amount of plastics harming our ecosystems. Instead of using the proclaimed emotions of your son to shame a man for not picking up some harmless glass while enjoying his hobby.
Carry little zip lock baggies with you next time, so when you find something small like that, put it in the baggie and then it will be safe in your mesh pouch. These small baggies are sometimes called Jeweler's bags. You can find them at craft stores. I have a bunch, but I use mine for small beads in my beading tool box. Here's a picture of what I mean, they are inexpensive. They will help to protect your smaller delicate finds. almosteverythingandmore.com/store1/images/products/en202.jpg
I'm actually using a fine mesh bag now for the small stuff; the same one I use for diving. I do have the small plastic baggies and I use them when land detecting. Thanks
DetectorComparisons OK, I think this might have been the first video of yours I've seen and it is pretty recent, so I thought you have not thought of small baggies yet.
We remove all trash such as lead, batteries, etc. But when hunting in a bottle dump we don't remove glass. Let me post the video description here...... TAKE NOTE: This is not a swim beach and has not been for over 60 years. It is a BOTTLE DUMP SITE. Every scoop has glass in it from small slivers to large pieces. We take out the poisons like lead and batteries but the glass stays in this bottle dump site.
Please quit throwing broken glass and trash metal back into the water! It's pretty easy to bring along a floating container to dispose of this stuff with..
You must have missed the description of the video. I'll post it again here "What was once an old beach is now a dump site loaded with glass and Iron. You'll see red fragments and glass in virtually every scoop, even with the good stuff!"
Actually I did see the description for this video; just because it's already a dump site doesn't mean it's okay to throw the trash back into the water. If you already have your hands on it, do the good thing for the earth and just put the trash in a container and dispose of it on the way out. If this site is so good to you (which I have seen to be true) then I would think you would want to give back a little.
Let me make sure I'm understanding you Kelly, So you think we should, while digging in a bottle dump site, remove less than 1/10 of 1% of whats actually there (thats if we were to go everyday for the next 10 years) so we can help save planet earth from glass which came from sand to begin with..... As an FYI, we who water detect remove thousands of pounds of poison every year from the waterways by retrieving lead sinkers, old batteries and other debris...... We can sit home an critique about the environment but instead we actually make a difference while out there enjoying our hobby.
Fred, too bad people like yourself judge before they read. I suggest you read the description again; this is a bottle dump site where there are thousands of pounds of broken glass so you will get glass in virtually every scoop. We are not going to fill our bags with glass in the first 15 minutes of hunting so back into the dump site it all goes. We remove hundreds of pounds of poison every year in lead sinkers, batteries, etc from the water but removing glass from a dump site..... no.
I've loved watching your videos but am rather disappointed with this one as you are seen throwing numerous pieces of Glass back into the water. While I realize that we can't take all the trash we find with us when we hunt, those were small pieces and in my opinion should have been kept and taken with you..... keep up with your videos though they're awesome!
Great stuff
Well, what can you say but - DAAAAANG! You guys made out fantastically!!! I want a nice area to search in, but desert just doesn't get you all the rings and bottles just sitting in your scoop! Great video!
What a spot! You guys have a nice honey hole there. I like that finds pouch, where can i get one? Good luck on our next hunt.
+ProCali Adventures - I got mine from Gold Digger 908 595 9933

damn ill never ever complain of my local beach again ... lol ... gtz on finds HH !
Can I ask where you got your mesh bag from?
Awesome spot! I'm jealous. One problem though, you should pick up all the glass you find. People could get BADLY cut.
Glass is just SAND... it will break down to its natural state....
Those glass bottles are so cool. It's pretty funny they just come up in the scoop.
That Hudson Valley Railroad lead seal, must be real old because I have never heard of it and I'm living just over the Mtn. from the Hudson Valley Region. .Also, I have worked on a railroad for over 20 odd years, on the Hudson Valley line. Great Finds !!!

Most Railroad Memorabilia has a Monetary value, ' So, don't deep six it..
Very nice hunt congrats on all your finds.
Another Great hunt... You guys are killing it out there. Congrats
Hey Mike! Mike, hey mike, mike mike, mike.
ur finds were outstanding, including the little seahorse, is the water just very corrosive in salt? When u mentioned the pier that explained all the broken glass coming up in ur scoop. Not a good place to be barefooted but sure lots of excellent finds, thanks for sharing...
+John Saldivar - I think it is more than the salt because we have found stuff at other beaches nearby and have never seen the conditions so harsh.
What pouch is that please? I need something that drains but seals shut. Sounds easy to find but it isn't
"hey mike hey mike hey mike"
Leave Mike alone!
+Dylan T - Are you kidding??? Half the fun of finding stuff is letting your buddy know as soon as you find it ;-) Mike has returned the favor many times!!!

Corrosive water? How you know that?
Very nice finds..
Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike. What day is it?
you guys are killing it!!
I like the Han dale you have on your scoop.
Where did you get it?
There are called Raptor handles made by detectorpro. You could buy them from any major dealer
Do you have to go back to the hot spot again?
We plan on going back until is slows down. This place is still producing...
Wow nice diamond stone dammmm, if I was there I would have been digging many more targets I use to did between 50-60 an hour wow. You guys need to dig more targets then will see even more good targets. But still nice finds for 3 hours. Good work!!!

What a great idea with the cork!
Very cool gold and diamond ring, lead seals, bottles, buffalo nickel, silver quarter and military silver rings! Unbelievable seahorse!!! Wow.Big congrats on your 14 kt gold rings. AMAZING HUNT Carter & Mike.
You guys are inspiring. Great video and fun too watch.
very good haul thanks for the video, salt water?
+Jim Grisham - Yes, salt water. This place keeps producing and we're heading back down again this weekend.
where did you get your scoop?
MIKE, MIKE, MIKE LOL LOL LOL
I also bought the same scoop thinking with the smaller holes in the rear all of the small to tiny targets would stay in the scoop. Boy oh boy I am in for a bad surprise watching this video.
GL HH & God bless
WOW, gold ring cleaned up nice ... Good Job !
awesome hunt, and dang that opal ring clean up nice and pretty
What a fantastic hunt! Congrats!
Awesome hunt!!👍🏻🌴😎
enjoyed the video thumbs up great spot
Was the broke one a diamond?

was the stone in the broken ring a real diamond?
Yes, it was small but real. The ring was badly banged up but not a mark on the stone
Do you still use your Cz21 anymore or do you still prefer the Xcal. over it?
In salt water, the Excal and CTX do better than the CZ21. In fresh water the CZ21 is fantastic. Most of my hunting is in salt water.
Thanks for the info. Great videos!
Nice Video!
wowsers nice honey hole you guys got there great finds
Wow, very nice finds. Are you from up north? I'm from down, looks like I need to get a water machine. Great video.
+Tennessee Gem - Hunting the NJ, NY CT and MA beaches.
Great hunt and beautiful finds. congrats. GL&HH
What are you filming with? Gopro?
Yes
cool finds! :)
Nice hunt thanks for sharing.
Don’t bother Mike with every single thing you find
hey Mike!
Okay, fair enough, my apologies. A shame that what was once a swimming beach has been reduced to this....a dump. Great finds all the same.
great hunt thanks for share

Nice man well done I also subbed and liked your video
Like your videos. All except seeing you dump the broken glass back in the water! PLEASE take the trash with you!
" Hey Mike ! "
Woaw that opal ring!!
That was amazing!
I mean you haven't been diving for 5 months already!
Nice find but lets hope that no sharks come after you thinking you are an injured fish because you are constantly shaking your scoop in the water and its early in the morning.

Unless you are a detector in garbage areas you most likely will not understand how much junk you dig up. It is impossible to cary out.

Instead of using the proclaimed emotions of your son to shame a man for not picking up some harmless glass while enjoying his hobby.
Glass is just sand.... it will break down eventually.... just like sea glass the water and currents pound it back to nothing...
Hello I'm in KIPRIS there are many places to discover here. Could you please send me a detector, please.🙏🙏
Looks like CC camp ring. Conservation Corps before WWII put men to working on roads and planting trees etc...look it up

So sad that happens in such a beautiful place.
Agreed.
Hate to see you throw all that broken glass back in the water.
One of the problems when you're digging in a glass dump site..... every scoop has glass.
No telling what 's in the water then, marine life must be acclimated to it.
You are relittering the water why can't you carrie a bag to put the trash in and help clean it up
We remove all trash such as lead, batteries, etc. But when hunting in a bottle dump we don't remove glass. Let me post the video description here...... Very good rings e coins
Sooo cool
whats this hay mick are you to freinds
Very good friends for many years. Otherwise he would not put up with me LOL.
Be a good example clean up the glass you fined
Be thorough and read the video description....

Dropping glass back in the water? Won't use you for my home school training. You have not been trained properly.
