Hello Helen and Dave.
I àm watching you from France near britanny.
So you are comming to France in july?😉
Hello Gaetan, always good to hear from you. Sworn to secrecy regarding our overseas trip 😂😊 stay tuned & watch this space and thank you for your support. Cheers, Helen & Dave
What a beautiful garden you have! In your future reviews please can you add whether or not facilities such as pubs and cafes are in walking distance for us motorhomers who don’t want to move once set up due to difficulties finding parking for huge vehicles. Thanks
Thanks for watching, will certainly do our best to call them out. We do try and fit these sorts of things in but we also forget to do it too. lol. Thanks again, Helen & Dave
Caravanning on a bank holiday? Neine Danke…we concluded our visitation last week in Shropshire on leaving day it” heavens opened” all day…the day before leaving was sunny…i regretted not taking down the “AirShield “ before departure day…
Yeah, good to avoid busy weekends. It’s not been the best start to the summer, we feel like we have to keep an eye on the weather constantly. Safe travels, Helen and Dave 👍
Enjoyable watch Dave & Helen Stunning garden, top marks to you both, Gail loves Coco 🦜. He looks very content in his luxury garden room. Gail had a budgie growing up, seven of them over the years and all called Joey ! 😂😂. Your cabinet door looks the business. May I suggest bonding a second panel to the inside to create a smooth internal finish. It would make it more sturdy and also eliminate the need to pack out the hinge. Catch you on your travels and all the best to you both from two Cestrefeldian’s 😀😀
Hi Rob & Gail, hope you've both had a lovely BH weekend. Co Co is no trouble at all, he talks a lot but he also makes a blinking mess lol. My parents (Dave) called their bungalow in Caister Cestrefeld, as you know I am from Chesterfield myself, a Spirerite at heart. Helen also suggested back to back hardboard, I hate it when she's right lol. Take care both and happy travels, Helen & Dave
Watching from Norwich. We are actually motorhome owners, but love your vlogs. Especially the campsite reviews and your knowledge.
Morning Kevin, thanks very much for watching the channel and you’re just up the road in lovely Norfolk. Lots of Motorhomers watch us and we watch loads of Motorhome channels too. We’re all chasing the same thing just in a different unit 👍👍. We hope you’re enjoying your adventures, stay tuned, Helen & Dave 👍👍
We are watching this on Sunday morning after an eight mile run in the rain , it was lovely to watch such a lovely garden in the sunshine we could feel ourselves warming up. Off to Church next where we’ll put a word for Helen’s shoulders . X best wishes Helen and Martin .
Hello H&M, hope you've adapted back to the UK weather, sounds like a very energetic start to the day. Thanks for putting a word in for Helen, she is delighted to know that so many people are thinking about her. She will be a new woman after her operations and can't wait to get some level of normality back into her life. Take care both. Helen & Dave
Hiya both... We have just come back from Lincoln Farm Park in Oxfordshire. Left you a comment and tagged you and thanked you for 2 of our purchases... Weather was OK ish
Hi Dan, good to hear from you and thanks for leaving a comment. Hope you’re happy with your purchases and that you had a good stay at Lincoln Park Farm. Where is our Summer? Can’t believe the amount of rain we are having. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave 👍
Watching from Morvich C&MC near the Isle of Skye. Look's a lovely sun trap garden you have👍
Hi Folks, we love Morvich and the Kyle of Localsh area, Skye, Plockton is lovely. Bet you have better weather than us too 😂 Enjoy the rest of your stay. Helen & Dave
Hi you two, great video again. Watching from Lincolnshire and I have to say the Bank Holiday weather was great. Don't worry about smells from the fridge, running on gas, it's just dust etc. I'm just wondering about your trip overseas! Could it be the IOW? Enjoy your time ;))
Hi Stew, glad you’ve had great weather and by the sound of it a smashing weekend 👍 I’ve told Helen, same ref: fridge smell thanks for the reassurance 👍 Overseas trip is highly classified info at this stage but we know you’ll be tuned in. Watch this space! ATB, Helen and Dave 😊
Hi folks. Good luck with 'crossing the water' . If you are going where we think you are we can't reccomend highly enough The Garlic Farm. And don;t leave without trying their garlic ice cream. It's DELISH !
Hi Graham, really can’t think where you mean 😳 but thanks for the heads up and more importantly thanks for watching. Take care, Helen & Dave
Great vlog-once again.
Smashing job done on the garden, it looks terrific, anytime you’re not in the van a relaxing break in the garden beacons! 😁
Watching you from Braithwaite and weather has been a bit mixed but not to worry just have accept it 🥴.
We’re coming down your way to the broads in July so hopefully weather will be nice and sunny 🤞.
Going overseas??….Isle of Wight perchance? 😉
Cheers for now and enjoy.
Hi Dino, thanks for your lovely message, think the weather is much the same in most parts of the country. Good to be away though. Sworn to secrecy on the overseas trip so stay tuned 😂👍 best wishes, Helen and Dave 👍
Hello Helen and Dave, we have just got back from Kendal camc site, it was a gunpowder factory 1857 till 1935, weather was ok on the Friday, lovely and sunny on Saturday, rain Sunday, ok Monday and we more or less missed the rain this morning (Tuesday) departure day, Rob Wise has done a video of this site, enjoy your hot tub 🛀, 👍.
Hi Buster Boy, sounds like you did pretty well with the weather compared with many 👍 We’ve watched Rob & Gail’s video from here and must say the site and the area looks lovely. Safe travels, Helen & Dave 👍
Love the cupboard .. great job. So looking forward to your trips away.. hopefully going abroad to find the hot sun will help your shoulders Helen ..🙏🏼 lovely garden by the way. Can I ask Helen where did you get your lovely T shirt.?
Hi Donna, thanks so much. Helen reckons the T shirt was from Sainsburys about 3 years ago 😂 She buys em, puts em in the wardrobe for a couple of years before wearing them and then tells me she’s had em for years!!!! Take care, Helen & Dave 😊
Morning Helen & Dave: Excellent as always. We went on a CAMC site this weekend with two of our four granddaughters for the first time. Site was called Blackshaw Moor in Leek. Saturday was glorious, Sunday was heavy showers. Wifi or any signal was woeful. I little disappointed to say the least.
Hi Paul, always good to hear from you. Time away with grandchildren is always nice (as is going away without them lol). Can't believe the amount of rain we are getting currently, no doubt if the weather had been better you would have been able to do more outdoor stuff with the kids. Our grandchildren and us to be fair would be pretty lost without wifi/4G availability which in our opinion must be a given on all sites, it's the world we live in now and is as important as electricity and water we think. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Re. Shoulder replacements: I'm so sorry to hear about the tosh that the surgeon told you. Unlike hips and knees, shoulders are not weight bearing (unless Helen is planning to become a professional weight lifter) and therefore replacement shoulders can last much longer. I had my first shoulder replaced Sep 2000 and the other one done in February 2004, and both are absolutely fine. I've taken the occasional tumble (I have 8 joint replacements) since then, and my shoulders are still fine. Please consider going for a second opinion and having one shoulder replaced privately. Yes surgery is painful but it's short-lived. Life's too short to live in pain. Sending hugs to you both. Hayley x
Thank you so much for your message Hayley, it's very reassuring to read this and something that I did wonder about.
I'm delighted that you have have contacted me and also managed well for so long, with so many replacements, you've obviously had your fair share of pain & stress and I can only imagine what you've been through.
You're quite right, life is too short to live in pain and I've never experienced pain like this. Thanks again and my best wishes to you. Helen x
Catching up after an unexpected journey. We were not far away but with friends and having a great time. Went away for the weekend and we were away for 10 days so now catching up.
The unexpected trips are always the best we find ha ha. Hope you had a good trip. Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave. Love your garden. Watching from Nottingham as not away this bank holiday due to weather and other half having tickets for Take That.
Brilliant job on the cupboard door and hope it solves the expensive problem of broken mirrors!!
Cheers Terry
Hi Terry, thanks, Helen loves the garden. Don't have to worry about breaking the mirror anymore lol. Hope Take That was good, we saw them a number of years ago and they were superb. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Greetings from N.I. When you said you were going overseas I thought you were coming to N.I. and I could get you to do a homer in my garden..LOL Garden is stunning that could grace the Chelsea show and win. Regards Robert & Carolyn.
Hi Robert & Carolyn, good to hear from you. We clearly have more subscribers in N.I. Than we first thought. You must be the 5th message from N.I. Today. If you lived closer I could send Dave around, he’s always looking for more to do 😂😂. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Helen & Dave, we're catching up with you both on this showery Monday morning here in Kettering. We were booked to go away this bank holiday at a place you recommended, Sandy Gulls Caravan Park, and were excited to hitch up and drive to your neck of the woods last Friday. But on my way home from work on the Wednesday before my beloved Range Rover Sport decided to break its crankshaft! So no car for the time being, which means no trip to Sandy Gulls! But we will recover very soon and re-book. All the best to you both,
Kev n Kay
Hi Kev & Kay, really sorry to hear about the Range Rover and hope that your repair bill will not be too big! We loved Sandy Gulls, very peaceful place. Take care, Helen & Dave
Hi again, you have my sympathy regarding waiting lists for operations. I needed a new knee 15 months ago and could barely walk back then. I too was quoted 18 months (with luck and a following wind) and couldn’t see any way of coping for so long so took the private option. By my reckoning I would still be waiting even now and dread to think what state I would have been in? They call this “elective surgery” don’t they? Can’t imagine anyone does this just for the fun of it myself but hey ho.
You mention using your onboard shower and we feel exactly the same but note you often visit sites without grey drainage at the pitch. Do you still manage to use your shower using a waste “hog”? By my calculations we would have to empty it at least once a day which means we always look for fully serviced pitches. This is fine but it does limit our choices of locations.
Best wishes, Michael.
Hi Michael, hope you’re well, interesting to hear about your own experiences with NHS v Private, very frustrating but hope you’re doing well. With regards to showering, we do go full service at every opportunity these days but you’re right, waste master & Aqua roll duty is given to Dave so we can have our daily shower in the van on normal standard pitches! ATB, Helen and Dave 😊
Hi Dave & Helen watching from a very wet Crewe in Cheshire. We tend not to go away bank Holidays because traffic is normally manic. Our next trip is a week in Pwllheli the day after the Touring Car at Oulton Park. I will be doing some Kayaking as the coast round Pwllheli is beautiful.
Hi Neil, good judge, we let the working families have the space they need at bank holiday time too. Sounds like you're in for a good trip to Pwllheli, hope you have a great time, Helen & Dave
Hello Helen, Dave and Bella. I'm watching from a wet Inverness ( we are the ones that went to wells a few weeks ago on your recommendation)
What a beautiful garden you both have....and I am also a lover of Buddha 😊
Your adventures sound wonderful and I'm intrigued to hear where you're going over the water.
We are planning Holland in September - never been abroad in our van and haven't been abroad since my recovery...so, very much hoping we go ahead! Keep up the good work guys
Hi Sharon, hope you enjoyed your stay in Wells. (Think you had better weather) Glad you like the garden and the vids. We’re sworn to secrecy on the overseas trip but it’s not Holland (which we hear has some fab caravan sites) Take care, Helen & Dave
Hi guys, we are in Algarve Portugal at mo, 7 week tour, into Spain next week, last rain we saw was in UK 3 weeks ago, hope weather gets better for you, 30d yesterday, best thing you will do caravaning on the continent, we be love it ☀️☀️☀️
Not jealous at all Rob, in fact we're quite enjoying sipping drinks in the rain!!! Seriously, glad to hear the sun is shining where you are and it sounds like you're making the most of it too good on ya. Safe travels back to the Blighty when the time comes (don't forget your brolly). Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave, great informative video.
We're on a short break in glorious Shropshire on a very nice CL.
You should venture over to Shropshire, you won't be disappointed! The scenery is as good as anywhere in the UK. 👍
Hi Philip, thanks for the heads up on Shropshire, it sound’s idyllic and will have to investigate further for sure. Hope the weather hasn’t been too bad for you. Thanks again, Helen & Dave 👍
Hello. Great video great job on door I'll be checking ours as its the same. Your garden is fabulous love the water feature. We're at home this wkend Somerset nxt for us. Thankyou. Xxx
Hello Alison & Keith, didn't think it would be too long before you're away again. Somerset sounds good, you will need to drink scrumpy, it's mandatory. lol. Can't beat the sound of running water from the water feature and it's a lot cheaper to run than Helen's new water feature!!! Cheers, Helen & Dave
Your garden looks so lovely and neat, great apprentice obviously well supervised. Ours is currently a work in progress, my apprentice is building a fence. We’re in the Polden hills in Somerset with wonderful views towards the Mendips. For various reasons we’ve yet to get away this year so looking forward to going to Moreton in Marsh in a couple of weeks. Weather here was glorious yesterday Saturday, today is overcast but thunderstorms forecast
Sandra, I am a good apprentice but Helen is a strict supervisor, always demanding more and more. Goodness knows why I'm not a 32'' waist! It sounds like you live in an idyllic location, hope your apprentice is cracking on and fingers crossed that the summer kicks in proper before too long. Helen & Dave
Watching from Australia. The caravanning in UK is very different from our vanning here.
I was just thinking that that wire you have exiting the door may have been the cause of your mirror breaking. Glass doesn't like to bend so if it opened then slammed back on the wire it could have broken that corner off.
All the best to Helen
Hi David, lovely to hear from you from Australia, we have quite a few subscribers from down under, which is fabulous. I e watched a nu
Bet if TH-cam channels from there and the caravans look vey well equipped all terrain type vehicles and look really strong too. Wild/beach camping must be amazing. I’m very sure it was a dodgy catch in our case but loads of people have said their cupboard mirror has been broken too. Stay tuned, great to hear from you. Helen & Dave
We are just down the road from you in Scratby? You’re not wrong it’s totally chucking down …. Left motorhome at home this weekend tho as staying in a static …. Oh well trip to Lathams to spend some money xx
Hi Ali, the sun is trying hard to breakthrough now. Bet Lathams car park has some big puddles in it! Always an interesting look around there though. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Watching from home in Barton under Needwood on the Staffs/Derbyshire border. We are off to a site near Much Wenlock in Shropshire this week. Lots of great garden ideas gleaned from this weeks vlog. Looking forward to your french trip review. We are off to the Vendee via Portsmouth/Caen later in the year. Driven over there a lot but this will the first time towing.
Hi Neil, thanks very much indeed. Hope the weather is not too bad for you. Looking forward to our adventures and hope you have a lovely time on your travels too. ATB, Helen & Dave
Beautiful garden. I am watching from home in Stalham Norfolk.
Hi Andrea, just up the road, we were at Meales Garden Centre centre the other day 😂 Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and Helen. Hope you get your op soon Helen . Watching from a soaking wet Edinburgh. We’re away to the Penrith area soon.
Hi Alan, it seems like the whole country is getting it, although the soon is shining now we keep getting sharp showers! Enjoy the rest of your stay. Helen and Dave
Hi Helen dave n Bella, we are watching from brecon beacons in our fantastic swift challenger ,love the hot tub ,love your vids ,keep em coming ,thanks
Hi Mike, lovely, hope you’re having a great time and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Watching this from Bucklegrove caravan near Cheddar lovely site with a really good bar and grill weather yesterday was gorgeous even caught the sun today very wet
We went to Shepton Mallet prison oldest in the England opened in 1624 and the Krays spent some time there as well and we are from Worcester England
Thanks
Lee
Hi Lee, sounds like you’ve made the best of the weather. Let’s hope summer kicks in good and proper soon! ATB Helen and Dave 👍
Hi, took your advice from a previous vlog and visited Naburn Lock and had a great time. They have demolished the facility block so had to use our own. The new block should be open in July
Hi Stephen, glad to hear you had a good time. We really enjoyed Naburn Lock too. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Cheers, Helen & Dave 👍
I’m praying for a good result on your arm Helen..
Thank you so much, that means a lot. Take care 👍
Hi Helen & Dave good to see you both, loving the new hot tub great addition to your amazing garden. You did a good job with the bedroom cupboard door, maybe paint the inside white same as the outside, quick fix and im sure you have a bit of paint left so wont cost you anything either lol.
We are away at Chatsworth Camc site just for the weekend, saturday was lovely we went to the house and gardens warm and sunny then today we were going to have a walk out but we have torrential rain with thunder & lightning so we are just chilling in the van, going home tomorrow 🙄
We live in Cheshire, next weekend we are off to Eye Kettlby for a week, cant wait, look after each other and see you soon xx
Hi Julie, thanks, hope you’re well and despite the weather it sounds like you’re making the most of your time at Chatsworth. By the time you get to EKL let’s hope we’re all basking in hot sunshine. Best wishes, Helen and Dave 👍
Hi Helen and Dave wow sounds like you are going to be having a busy summer! The garden looks absolutely lovely well done ours is very boggy from all the rain over here in West Midlands!
Hope you get your op soon Helen it’s amazing how the dates always move isn’t it my wife is waiting for a knee replacement and had a very similar situation to you
I don’t blame you modifying the caravan door as you have it was a poor piece of design and it looks great now and you know it will be much safer
Happy caravanning to you both all the best Daniel
Hi Daniel, thanks as always, hope all is well with you. We're really looking forward to our summer tour. a few stops in Norfolk, then into Suffolk before heading south and eventually we get to board our ferry. Hope your good lady gets her op soon and all goes well. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave
We tend not to go away for bank holidays leave the pitches available for the folk who as you said are still working or need school holidays retirement has its advantages
Home is in Yorkshire 17 mile from York excellent job with the cupboard door know it’s a job done right when you do it yourself a dealer promised our friends a new front locker door on a faulty 2023 CV he assured them it was a new one little did the dealer know our friend had written his name secretly hidden can you imagine his face when he showed him his name on the supposedly new door 🤞for not a long wait for your operation Helen but Dave is learning all new skills 😀
Hi Shiela, we love York and had a great stay last year at Naburn lock. Agree bank holidays at home work well for us too. Cheeky dealer!!! Bet his face was a picture 😂 Helen cannot wait for her op and says thanks for your good wishes. ATB, Helen and Dave
Hi, we're away until Wednesday at Burford CAMC. Three weather has been mixed, but quite warm when the sun is out. 😊
Hi Claire, thanks for watching. Hope you’ve had a good stay at Burford. That seems to be the sort of weather we have had today. Hope you can get plenty of sun before you leave. Safe travels, Helen & Dave 👍
My goodness you are going to be busy during your summer .
Looking forward to all your site reviews 👍
Watching from the best county 😀
Yay! Can’t beat Norfolk 👍 Yes we have some great plans, just hope we get a summer! Thanks, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave absolutely stunning garden 😍, can I ask were you got the outdoor cage for your African Grey, ?. We have an African Grey who comes in the caravan with us all the time and she loves the attention lol. We live in Northern Ireland and we are at a fantastic site in kilkeel county down .
Hi Lynn, Co Co occasionally comes with us and he really enjoys it, he loves being in the car. I've just trawled my e-mails but cannot find the supplier of the cage. It's actually a cage that is often used to store gas bottles etc. We got it fro the manufacturer direct and we paid around £700 four years ago but it's a great cage. I'll keep checking and will come back if I find it. Cheers, Helen &Dave
Watching this vlog from Donkey Creek at the tourfest northwest with the addys, caravan logger caravan nut and hey ho let’s tow, had a great weekend, gorgeous garden by the way 👍
Hi Paul, wonderful, hope you’ve all had a good time together. Cheers for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
We are at clumber park for 5 days to do some biking
Great Harry, hope you're having a good time. This is somewhere we have yet to visit but fancy a look at Clumber Park before too long. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Just up the road from me
Just about to purchase our first (2nd hand caravan) at 60 years old! Will deffo watch all your videos again as we have absolutely no idea what we are doing and hopefully trust the dealer is honest x
Hi Bessie, many congratulations, best thing we ever did and we’re sure you going to have some fun adventures. Thanks for watching the channel, take it steady and you’ll be fine. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Hello we sold our camper last weekend as we had bought a caravan. We are not away in it this weekend as we are in Side Turkey for 14 nights 31 degrees yesterday 👍😃
Hi Simon, well I know where I would rather be, even in 31 degrees of scorching sunshine. Hope you enjoy your caravan and the rest of your holiday. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Watching from the van in Cambrils Spain, nice to see the grass is getting a watering 😂 at home, would it be the Waveney river centre you made reference too, I drove down solo and couldn’t accept the stress towing down there although we store the van just down the road at Aldeby
Hi Les, bet you're drinking a cervesa as I send this. Yes, it's the Waveney River Centre. Had a drive there today and the last two miles is totally single track but there are two routes in, one is SLIGHTLY better than the other. When we got to the site there were several vans there the same size of ours but we met 3 cars on that single track and I'm not sure I fancy it either. Shame, because it's really lovely here. We took our boat there some years ago and it's looking really nice today (despite the thunder storm). Enjoy the rest of your stay. Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen. Love the video. I’m just wondering who looks after your parrot when you are away?
Hi Jackie, he gets a better holiday/life than we do. We book him in to a parrot hotel on the Norfolk Broads, he has many feathered friends there, gets to fly in the biggest aviary you have ever seen and watches more TV there than he does at home. It also costs more than our trips away!! lol. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Helen. Could your shoulder problem be a repetative strain injury? Caused either by hitting Dave from the wrong angle or opening his beer bottles in a rush.
Unfortunately not, I have severe osteoarthritis for which the only cure is to have both shoulders replaced. Then I can hit Dave 😊👍
Great vlog again and wow what a fantastic garden you have. Sorry to hear that there is such a long waiting list Helen. I was the same waiting for a total hip replacement but my Consultant also did private work at The Nuffield and I was put on his list for a short notice cancellation and only waited 3 weeks. Had it done at the Nuffield as an NHS patient. Xx
Hi Mather, that would be a dream come true for me. Hope you’re now feeling like a new woman and enjoying life. Best wishes, Helen and Dave 👍
Watching from Wymondham, South norfolk! Not away this season yet as without tow car at the moment! May half term is usually out favourite time to get away so feeling rather sad it's not to be this time round. 😢
Hello Amy, thanks for watching and we hope you get sorted with a new tow car soon. Hope it's not still raining where you are, the soon is trying to show it's face now over here on the coast. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
On your recommendation we are at Fields End water but in the paddock and on grass/ Astro turf, very nice place.
Hope you’re having a nice stay there and it’s not too wet! Happy holidays, Helen and Dave
Were at Stanwell farm in finningham Suffolk a CL 5 van site and it's been pouring down.
Hi Pete, such a shame that it's been another BH washout. Hope you've managed to make the best of it and thanks very much for watching. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave
Great watching we are in Suffolk but just been to Volkswagen in Lowestoft today to buy new tow car
Hi Colin, we’re just home from Lowestoft, Pakefield actually. Hope you managed to sort a new car. Thanks for watching. Helen and Dave 👍
Watching from Ireland love your videos
Thank you so much Catherine, great to hear from you and we appreciate your support. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 👍
That is crazy only a 10 yr life then do it again. Daylight robbery.
Agreed, you can't help but feel you are being conned!
The family are at Carsington Water Club Campsite
Hi John, Hope you're all having a great time and the weather is being kind. This place get's mentioned to us a lot, we need to investigate! Safe travels, Helen & Dave
We are watching you sitting in our caravan on the Isle of Wight, are you coming to see us in July?
Hi Paul, Isle of Wight, now that sounds like an idea, wonder if our ferry would drop us off there for a few days ha ha. Watch this space and stay tuned! Best wishes, Helen & Dave
We are at Somers wood on Friday and we are from Nuneaton in Warwickshire
We have a stay at Somers Wood later in the year, never been before but it looks lovely. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Maybe try some vinyl sticky plastic on the back of the mirror door to finish it off❤
Hi Angela, that’s exactly what we need to do, will investigate it. Thanks Helen & Dave
Was the broken mirror of toughened glass?
Hi Grant, thanks for watching, I was under the impression it was toughened but clearly it wasn’t. It’s in the bin now 👍 Cheers, Helen & Dave
Willowbank in Formby… lovely and sunny
Brilliant! Hope you’ve had a great time 👍
Hi Helen & Dave, good to see you’re both well.
Great vlog and looking forward to seeing the upcoming ones too… especially the overseas in July. Are you going to vlog the journey over to where you’re going?
We’re currently at home in rainy Manchester… typical North West Bank Holiday!!
Hi Adam, thanks as always, yes we will be filming our trips away, it's the main reason we go lol. I used to live in a rainy Manchester (Middleton) but like most places of the `uk, it looks so much nicer when the sun shines. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave what a small world!! I know Middleton well, we live on the border of Whitefield going into Bury. Enjoy the rest of your weekend away.
Hi Dave. What a beautiful garden.
Ah, cheers Greg, just need some nice weather so we can enjoy it! it's bucketing down lol.
Watching from sunny Sussex we were in Caister over the Bank Holiday and sad that it rained all the time we were there. Ah well.
Your garden is beautiful and looking forward to you’re Isle of Wight trip we were going to do it but the ferry fares put us off
Hi Laraine, reckon we may have had the worst of it over here on the Norfolk coast but it’s a bit better now. Where in Caister did you stay? Hope you had a good time and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
We were at The Grange so not strictly Caister but we went to the village and we were looking out for you 😀
Dave just put another bit of of hardboard back to back so you have the same finish on the inside as well and you will have no need to use packaging bits the it will be stiffer. Use a good adhesive 👍🏻
Good idea Christopher, annoyingly, that's what Helen suggested in the first place!!!!! I hate it when she's right lol. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Hiya, lovely to see you both again on the video. Just watching from our second home in sandbach, great to hear you are travelling south soon, drop by for a glass of viz or two when you are down this way 👍👌
Hi Jonathan, thanks very much for watching. We are looking forward to our trip South and hopefully with some better weather too. Thanks for the offer, where is your first home lol ? Cheers, Helen and Dave
Huddersfield in West Yorkshire is our other home c location.👍 if you are ever up that way 👌🥰
Watching from Harlow !! lol
Thanks for watching, Cheers, Helen & Dave
Morning Helen and Dave,
Lovely vlog and what a stunning peaceful garden well done to you both 👏.
Great job on the cupboard door, maybe you could just paint the inside white.
Sounds like we are in for some great upcoming trips 😁
We are like you avoid bank Holidays, too busy.
We are watching from a miserable wet Wakefield with thunderstorms due 😮.
Looking forward to our Scottish trip in 4 weeks 😊.
Hope Helen gets the op sooner rather than later 🙏.
Paul and Joanne 👍 ❤️.
PS sorry to ask Dave but will you be cheering Leeds on this aft 🙃, good luck next season
Morning Paul & Joanne and thanks for tuning in this Sunday morning. The sun is breaking through now, yes!!!! Difficult question you have posed me there but the truth is, I think Daniel Faroe is a good manager, got Norwich promoted twice in during his tenure at Carrow Road so would like to see hime do it, if only to prove to the Norwich management/board that they made a bad decision in letting him go. Hope you enjoy Scotland and by then the summer is firmly in place. Cheers, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave
Thanks for the reply,
🤞
Let's hope summer is coming.
Was worried you might block me for asking 😂.
Take care .
@@Meggy6571 don't be silly, it's only a game (come on you Reds). Catch you in the next one and good luck to Leeds.
Hi Dave we at club feast in Staffordshire very wet but really enjoyed
Nice one, did you see Jason Donavon and Dan Trudgian? Hope you had a great time, shame about the weather. Helen & Dave

Fantastic! Hope you've had a great weekend. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Nice job on the cupboard door. Garden looking good too. Well done. 👏
Cheers Lesley, hope you’ve enjoyed your trips away. See you soon 👍
Hi Dave and Helen, sadly you never replied to my email, also sadly we never managed to get the caravan that we were looking at, however we have managed to upgrade to a 4 birth with fixed single beds, a Compass Kensington 574, and thankfully it has a motor mover fitted, and we pick it up on the 7th June, happy days ahead, been away at Chequers caravan park Folkestone, a lovely quiet little site since Thursday and go home Tuesday so 5 nights this trip, all the best and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, apologies we haven’t responded to your email, it may have slipped through the net or even into the junk folder but as you can imagine with over ten thousand subscribers and over 90 thousand other viewers a month and with Helen practically out of action I really do have a lot to deal with so I hope you’re not offended that I haven’t got back to you!! However it sounds like you’ve managed to make a good decision for yourself and we do hope that you have many happy trips away in your new caravan when you get it. Happy travels, Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDaveWould it be possible to get replacement stickers from you for the new van door, thanks muchly Neil
@@mentalneil hi Neil, yes, of course.
If you could just email us your address again please. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi, we are watching from Barcelona where we live. A lovely sunny day here. We camp in Norfolk every year so we know it well and love travelling around with you. Good luck with the shoulders Helen and thank you both for the interesting videos. Suzanne and Garry.
Hi Suzanne & Garry, wow, living where you do must be amazing. We used to spend a lot of time in Southern Spain and we love the culture and the climate! Thanks for your best wishes, I’m sure once my shouldered are made of plastic I’ll be like a new girl. Stay tuned and thank you again. Helen & Dave
Hello Dave & Helen from Florida. It’s hot and humid here, nearly 33c with 60% humidity. Beautiful sunny day here today even though I’m inside in the A/C. Enjoy your bank holiday, it’s our Memorial Day 3-day weekend honoring those members of the armed services who gave and lost their lives for the US.
Hi Marianne, lovely to hear from you from sunny Florida (not at all jealous 😡😂) We’ve never been to the USA but we can tell you live in an amazing part of the world. Respect to the service personnel who gave their lives for your country. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. PS the sun made it to Norfolk UK today and the Mercury reached a sizzling 18c 👍 Best wishes, Helen & Dave
In Northern Ireland to rain later
Hi Christina, you're the second person from Northern Ireland that's been in touch today and it's great to hear from you and thanks for watching. Most parts of the UK seem to be getting rain although it's trying to brighten up in `Norfolk just now. Take care, Helen & Dave
Great Video, Dave is a good gardener. Watching from Suffolk, it's raining here too.
Cheers Tom, great catching up with you earlier 👍
A very sunny 89 degrees 96% humidity SW Florida USA
Virginia!!!!! now that's what we need here in Blighty, mind you, the humidity might not make it so comfortable. Bet you would love to be in a cool wet place like England, come on, admit it, you would lol. Hope you're comfortable. Take care, Helen & Dave
@HelenandDave I enjoy your travels so much. I'd rather be anywhere except paralyzed in this bed with stage 4 cancer. You are my enjoyment and all the beautiful places you go. TY....Helen I love your parrot 🦜 and garden ♥️
@@virginiawestcot3111 we cannot begin to imagine how life must be for you right now and we are glad that our channel brings a little light into your life. We always look for your comments and we send you our love and best wishes. Helen & Dave
Great job with the cupboard door Dave and the garden is looking terrific. Hope you get your operation soon Helen. Here’s to some sunshine 👍
Cheers both 👍
Morning Dave and Helen ,
Hope you are both fit and well, absolutely love your vlogs, find them very informative .I am about to embark on my first trip in my very first caravan at the age of 69,life in the old dog yet hey .I would like to run the caravan fridge while towing ,is that possible.Would really welcome your advice ,
Kind regards
Keith
Hi Keith, well done you, we think you’re gonna love it. The best advice on the fridge is. If you can, plug it into the mains, 24 hours before you go, to get it nice and cold before setting off. Once you hook up to the car and switch the fridge over to battery (car battery) that will hold the temperature but not chill it anymore than it is. DO NOT travel with fridge switched to gas! If you can’t chill down using mains in advance then we would recommend using a few ice packs or bags of ice 24 hours before and if you then transfer cold food into it when hooking up to the car that should be fine. Hope that helps, happy travels, Helen & Dave
Brilliant, thank you ever so much, great advice ,will go down the ice pack road me thinks, probs put everything in a cool box till I get to site .
Thanks again
Keith .
What at stunningly beautiful garden and hot tub (wife loved it thanks)
Ah Cheers Paul, glad she liked it and thanks very much as always for your support. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Do you cut back your salvia hot lips it's lovely ❤
Hi Diane, only very slightly. It fitted in my handbag when I got it. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
@HelenandDave I didn't and I lost half lol , hope your feeling better you don't look so pained in the eyes , love your caravan adventures ❤️
The willows milldenhall
Hope it was good Paul.
Wow that garden! Wouldn't want to go away!😅 Top marks! to you both!
Thanks Paul, it keeps us that busy that we feel like we need a holiday when we’ve done it 😂😂
At home in Hemsby
Good judge Linda 😊👍
Fields end water
Hope you’re enjoying your stay. We enjoyed it there 👍
Hi ya Dave and Helen.
Sorry to hear about the waiting time for your shoulder Helen.😒
Wow love your garden, thought we had a big garden.
Been to Eye Kettleby twice this year, just booked 10 days for next year. Love Norfolk I want to vlog (Nothing to do with caravanning, other hobby). the poppy line this year.l
Got a busy time this year, one month 20 days away. Treepiece in Norfolk and Loughborough.
One thing we discovered was covering our caravan. We always cover it but this year we didn't, never again, in the corner at the back the floor got damp, never had that problem when covered. Plus how filthy it got. We put it up September/October don't take it on the road with the salt. Just thought it might be of interest for you.
Stay safe guys and happy caravanning.
Thumbs up thumped 👍
.... Pete and Su....
Hi Pete & Su, thanks very much. We loved EKL and can see the attraction! The Poppy Line is a regular haunt for us, we like Weybourne station very much. Interesting feedback on the cover but sorry to learn of your misfortune. So many people feedback that they think covers are a waste of time but we agree with you! Enjoy your travels. Helen & Dave 👍
Hello Helen & Dave, been watching you vlogs for a while now, Nikki and I have never commented before but you both give us a good laugh 😂 ATM were just on our last night Old Oaks Touring Park Glastonbury absolutely stunning site, weather was hit and a miss... Thank you both for all the hard work 👍🏻
Hi there Alex, great to hear from you and Nikki and thanks so much for watching the channel. We’ve had a lot of people recommend Old Oaks to us as a great site to visit, so we’ve got it on our list. The weather so far this summer has been pretty awful so we hope it’s not put too much of a damper on your stay. Stay tuned and safe travels to you. Cheers, Helen & Dave
What a fabulous garden, not showing you ours but we are very envious. The cupboard door looks really great, very arty. Love the bubble tub too and the gorgeous parrot. I could go on but we are just leaving a CCC site in the Malvern area and I’m hoping we aren’t bogged in on our grass pitch with all this rain we’ve had last night. Take care both and we hope Helen’s operation comes round soon, I’ve had both knees replaced and it’s been life changing. BFN :)
Hi guys, good to hear from you and we hope the weather hasn’t put too much of a damper on your weekend. Hope you got out safely too. Safe travels, Helen and Dave 👍
Watching from Braidwood, NSW, Australia. Cold weather (nearly winter here) and no, we aren't away in our caravan. Next trip is July to a very cold place near Tamworth, NSW. Love your channel. Thank you.
Hay Dot, good to hear from you again. It must be evening in Australia by now, can't imagine it being cold there, strange! Hope you have a nice trip in July and thanks for watching us, we really appreciate it. Safe travels. Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, watching from Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Unfortunately not away in our caravan. Our eldest is studying for her GCSEs and we promised her we wouldn't go away until they are done! Roll on late June.
Looking forward to your overseas trip. Thank you for another great video.
Hi Jo, good to hear from you, especially from my (Dave) home town 👍 Born at Scarsdale Hospital, lived in Hollingwood before moving into the old grammar school house on Sheffield Road. Not great weather just now so maybe late June will be scorching 👍😊 Thanks for watching, Helen and Dave 👍
Lovely garden both, always gives such a relaxing atmosphere to be in. The hot tub is something we invested in 3 years ago and was such a great addition, relaxing and such a help towards my neck issues and restless legs which it certainly helps reducing. We’re away in Portugal this bank holiday weekend celebrating our friends 50th birthday, miss the caravan as we’d normally be away, but having a fabulous time in the glorious 28 degrees sunshine. We live in Ross on Wye in Herefordshire, which is a lovely area just like where you live. Great update video both and sorry about the shoulders Helen, it must be frustrating for you, my neck flares and limits me which I get frustrated with and drive Nikki nuts as I can’t keep still normally so I end up getting under her feet. 😂😂 Your plans sounds great and looking forward to coming along with you on the trips away, and the trip abroad as that’s what we’re planning with our caravan, with our Westie so really will be great seeing how you get on with the jabs etc. The new mirror cabinet looks great well done Dave. 😀😀 Tris and Nikki
Hi Tris & Nikki, always good to hear from you and you’re definitely in the right place this weekend. The hot tub therapy in a peaceful setting does work wonders for Helen and me. Safe travels, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi 🖐 Watching from Mid Norfolk, Walnut tree farm (you went there recently) is just across the field from us and yes its pouring with rain 🌨 We are fair weather campers and like you don't have to go at weekends. Beautiful garden and really enjoy watching your vlogs. Rae x
Hi Rae, yes, we really enjoyed Walnut Tree Farm. The weather is rubbish and must say, caravanning/camping isn't much fun when it's like this. Thanks for watching the channel and please stay tuned. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Just down the road, got back from Chatsworth, off to Secret Gardens then Red Kite before a CL near Old Buckenham at end of July, meaning most of June and July away.
Dave, maybe you should get a portable hot tub for Helen for your travels, I know it would be a few Aquarolls to fill and empty, a wood burner could heat it and you could have a fire pit next to it to toast the marshmallows while relaxing ( with a cool box full of Ghost Ship the other side for your own therapy). Gives you something to do in your free time too😂😂
Hope you’ve both had a good trip and it sounds like you have a busy schedule of trips too, nice 👍 Please don’t put ideas in Helen’s head, I’m struggling to cope with the heavy demands she puts on me now. I’m thinking of going back to work for a rest 😂😂 Safe travels, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen,
Great to hear all your news and plans and we both think the gardener has been doing a tremendous job in the garden 😉
We are on our third and final night at Sheep's Meadow CL in Suffolk. Our first time here on a working farm.
Mixed bag of weather but three beautiful evenings.
Went to Southwold today and popped into the Adam's store to stock up on supplies. We thought of you Dave as we passed the Ghost Ship shelf 😊
Enjoy the hot tub Helen and make sure the pool boy keeps it nice and clean for you 😉
Best wishes from us both
David & Rachel 🥂
Hi David & Rachel, did you say you walked past the Ghost Ship shelf??? That’s something I’ve never managed to do 😂 Hope you’re enjoying Sheep’s Meadow, these CL’s are often some of the best stays. Helen is enjoying the hot tub but I am far too busy to enjoy it myself. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and thanks as always for watching. Helen, Bella, Co Co and the pool boy/gardener 👍😊
You have some lovely Buddha and Budai statues in the garden, making everything very serene. A hot tub is a must for anyone. Good job with the mirror/door, looks nice. Well done on using the word 'funky', haven't heard that since 1974, next you'll be using 'super' hahaha!!!! Enjoy the rain x
Ah Bry, lovely to hear from you our friend. Yes, thought the Buddha and Budai statues would be right up your street. They are very funky & super additions to the garden and with the sound of running water and serene music it makes for a great place to meditate 🧘 Hope you’re well. Helen & Dave
Oh Dave, I really feel for you sometimes, the Dog doesn't listen to you, now it seems the Parrot doesn't listen to you and you get blamed for all the whoopsies. Welcome to the Club Brother! 🤣🤣🤣 Love to you both Squash
Hi Squash, at last, someone who recognises my plight and by the sound of it is in a similar boat lol. Hope you're well and thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Hello Dave and Helen I hope Helen gets sorted sooner than later we where at Powfoot in Dumfries it was beautiful Friday and Saturday it was a lovely site and very clean i liked the pebble mirrors hope you enjoy over the water 👍😭Have a nice time Paul
Thanks Paul, great to hear from you, will have a look at Powfoot, always like to checkout new sites. It’s a long way from us but might be an interesting stop off on our next Scotland trip. We get lots of compliments on the pebble mirrors, thanks 👍 Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Greetings from South Yorkshire. and I'm at home relaxing in my snoody watching you both. Hope Helen's shoulders get better soon and ready for the summer hols. I'll look forward to seeing the 'over the water' video as well as any others you put together. Happy Caravanning :-)
Hi Chris, many thanks for watching and your good wishes for Helen. Hope the weather hasn’t been too bad for you. Stay tuned, Helen and Dave 👍
Morning Helen & Dave
Lovely garden. Watching the video in the caravan at Poston Mill Hereford. We’ve had good weather, rained all last night but very sunny this morning.
Travelling back to Dorset tomorrow on a Bank holiday Monday unfortunately, got to be at work on Tuesday morning.
Hi Barry, thanks, the apprentice gardener is getting better!! Hope you've had a lovely stay and at least you have some sunshine, it makes all of the difference. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
