Nice video. I'm trying to do this on my 2011 using Alfa on a laptop. I got remote start set to "present" but I've searched everywhere and I do not see any menu option for hood pin switch. I also don't see anywhere to copy the PIN. So I had to give up for the night. Hoping to find some answers somewhere.
Pin is located in the “rfhub - radio frequency hub” and the hood pin stuff is in the “body control module” there’s a search in the functions list type “hood” and you will see it.
@@speedybmc for the 13 Durango it looks like that has a “WIN / WCM - wireless control module” and the “hood pin” your looking for would be connected to the “TIPM C4 - LIGHT GRAY (FRONT_END_MODULE) 16 WAY” the pin is #3 is the one you need.
I have a 2023 Chrysler 300 with an “auto” headlamp switch. I want to change it to an older switch with an actual “off” position Can you change settings for this with alpha obd because straight switch swap doesn’t work
Hello. I have Fiat Freemont (Dodge Journey) 2013. I tried to activate remote start and pc connects to body computer (I have status connected) but when I click start button to program this function AlfaObd says: "no data receive dr ECU/interface or data corrupted". Did anyone have such problem?
Did you find the issue I'm having the same issue but once a guy helped me when he was connected he reset the module I've done the same but doesn't work for me
No, unfortunately it’s specific to every car. You may find it in your original owners manual or you’ll have to read the pin with alfaOBD + obdlink max+. Because nobody wants to pay a dealership $500 for a pin.
You can use your orginal rfhub. I added remote start to my 14 se charger. Added the hood switch pin, read my pincode, enabled remote start in the BCM, then connected to the rfhub and “reset/replace” and BAM WORKED. After that of it still doesn’t work would have to drive for like 5-10min and then try to remote start.
Nice thank you. I got a 2011 ram a couple weeks ago and the VIN and the remote says it has remote start. But the remote start button doesnt work. I think its a cheap generic remote because it doesn't have the dodge emblem on the back. I'm gunna try seeing if i can get this remote start to work on this key
The manual transmission ram trucks even the laramie didn't come with remote start for safety reasons. I really want to know if this will work for my 2014 laramie ram 3500 with a manual trans
A group I’m in on Facebook says this will work on all 2009-current rams unless you have the base model that still uses a metal key? How can I confirm this? I have a 2010 big horn. Literally has every option except remote start and leather seats lol
If you have a key fob that doesn't have the auto start button like mine didn't, i just bought one from Amazon that had it for 40 bucks Canadian, got alpha obd and the mx+ obd link. I didn't have the good switch either so just ran a wire from pin 11 from the bcm under the dash on the drivers side straight to ground and now i have auto start
@@dashtyATG last week I got my promaster 5 digit key pin printed from the dealer. I am using the yellow connector and it ask me to enter the pin but it is showing as invalid pin.
Yes it’s adding factory remote start to the vehicle. Would have to add the hood latch or bypass it with a 100k ohm resistor grounded to the pin in the “body control module”!
@@Dubb45 thanks man. So I just follow these steps all the way up until I get the pincode, then back out of it, and go through the steps for whatever it is I need the pincode for. Right?
I belive you have to drive your truck for like am hour or so, @BoostedMotorsports has a video. Also you need to by pass the hood latch sensor if u don't have that, u can easily bypass with a resistor(closing the circuit.) After that just do what this guy did and it should work
Also if u have a lower end trim it won't work, you will have to add the harness, you can check if u have it by locking it and check if the tailgate handle locks and unlocks with the key. Goodluck

Can you make video with this wire with 100k ohm resistor? How to connect it?
Would love to see that too
That's really amazing video thank you so much for sharing your acknowledge.
Would that be the same for Chrysler's jeep as well?
Do you have a step-by-step guide to taking the Dodge Journey 3.6 gearbox out of safe mode?
Wait so if my car didn’t come with remote start I can do this to make remote start work?
Can I program win module with this?
If I get the remote start key fob for my 2011 could I do this to get remote start?
Yes you can.
Many thanks, video help, remote works. 😊

@@dashtyATG I had to update my interface (I have one on STN1170) then it works great
How do i update my interface?
I have downloaded it from the producer site of my interface (Viaken).
it's 1k resistor not 100k
Didn't work on 2013 Dodge caravan. I did all that, but it won't work.😢😢
Can't find information about finding exact wire... I've got everything accept understanding which wire is coming from “C1/A” pin #11
Body control module - connector C1 “A” - pin #11
If you look at the module it’s self it’s labeled with the letter “A” below the connector.
@@Dubb45 thanks unfortunately I got understanding that’s not possible to add new key fob to police pursuit Charger :(
Hi,
Is the PIN code from the OBD, 1234 or 0000?
No, unfortunately it’s specific to every car. You may find it in your original owners manual or you’ll have to read the pin with alfaOBD + obdlink max+. Because nobody wants to pay a dealership $500 for a pin.
If I install a oem remote start do I get the pin from old. Put new hub in than reflash and replace?

Where do I get the pin and what is it for?
Will this work on a 2018 renegade? No additional hardware/harnesses required?
Similar process. Will have to add the hood switch or bypass it by adding a resistor grounded to “Body control module - C4 - pin# 8”
Please let me know if you have done it I'll be appreciated
You need the key with the remote start button on it or it works if you press lock button 3 times ?
You need the key with the remote start button, alfaobd can program the key as well.

ever figure out ? Wana know for my 16 2500 g56 manual
On a 2012 ram 2500 outdoorsman do you know if i need anything other then the keys? Do i need the win module or an antenna?
There is a Facebook forum “Ram alfaobd” look for the member “John Lance” he sells the kits to get you going for those models.
I have gone through these steps but do I need the fob with the remote start button? Or will it still work without that one?
You need the key with the remote start button to turn it on.
Did it end up working?
Are you sure ya just can’t hit the lock button 3 times cause that how my truck is set up somehow. No button separate on fob for remote start
