Going back and re-watching some of your videos to really get a grasp of the devastation... the lava flow in this video is awesome.

That's my friend's Gary N.'s house on Luana St. I used to go and visit him and his family there many times. I used to live just a few blocks away in Leilani Estates back in the 1990's.

This is one of the first videos of yours I ever saw, Scott. I had just found out about the eruption a few weeks after and was just looking for more info. After the USGS videos, yours came up. Seeing the devastation was one thing, but the pain in your voice when you said “so sad, so amazing” made it real. It kind of hooked me on. You gave a human touch to it that others couldn’t. I watched a bunch in one sitting. Then kept coming back day after day. You can relate to people in a unique way, almost baring your soul and giving 100%. My problem was that I got carried away with watching natural calamities of all kinds. There were a few of them that happened that year and a few things at work. I just had to put a full-stop, even though I really missed your voice. I knew I would be back. Funny how I came back to watching you in the middle of another calamity of sorts. I guess everything happens for a reason. I am staying this time for good. I am watching everything twice and more. I am clicking on those each of those ads a few times too. Not sure if it counts if I click on the same add multiple times, but sure hope so. Hope to help you as much as you’re helping me!

Thanks for the videos. Everyone all the over the world has been watching and praying. Bless you guys! I’m sorry for what you are all going through. We appreciate the live footage as it keeps it very real to those who aren’t there facing this event in person. Much respect. From Texas

You're right about 'all over the world.' Watching this channel and some of the other channels put up by residents have more of an impact than news ever has. I don't know any of these people but I feel like I do and hope for the best.

Love the sound of the A'a! So sad to see all this loss of beautiful homes, property, and land! Just going back and looking at all your vids from beginning to date! Today is August 1, 2018...

As you said, amazing and so sad at the same time. I believe this is the first video of yours I found after seeing Jeremiah's incredible drone shots on MSM and wanting to find out more about the event. Your unique style of personal narrative set the videos you made apart from the others in such a way that I began looking forward to seeing them as often as you posted them. So I've just been tagging along ever since for this past year, learning so much more about Hawaii and growing to care about awesome people (and even a couple of pups) I didn't know existed before. What an amazing thing that is. Mahalo nui loa Scott, God bless. :)

So I just shared a pic I took off this video with a link to your channel. I hope you don't mind. It wasn't fot monies or anything. I shared the pic and your channel info on Instagram, Twitter, FB, tumblr, and Snapchap. Hope this provides more traffic to your channel. You're doing an awesome job with content. It's like I am there witnessing it in person. For the sake of the islanders, the economy, and especially those with homes still threatened, this doesn't end up being a long drawn out eruption as the USGS is thinking it will be. Cheers dude.

That lava is called an "a-a" (Ah-Ah) flow. This happens when a "Pahoehoe" flow gets very thick and if moves over the top like a a bulldozer track.
