I know exactly what they need to do. Advertise Ingress through Pokémon. A lot of people are getting bored with Pokémon and want a new challenge. That is why I started playing Ingress.
Same story, I knew about Ingress through Pokemon GO like 7 years back and have been playing ever since.

Wife and I started back in 2014 or 15, we played casually with Saturday events and one anomaly. Then we stopped in 2018. And just now picked it back up.
We started again because we travel across America in an RV and thought it would be cool to hack new places and try some longer links.
We hope it doesn't end.

I have been playing since 2014 and I think Niantic has had worse lows than now with ingress. It's far from dead.

For someone who has played both Pokemon GO and Ingress for years, it's definitely Niantics best game. Niantic doesn't even give 1% to Ingress compared to Pokemon GO. It can actually grow a lot bigger if Naintic wants.
@@Splend1dGamer Definatly it makes the best use of the environment takes you to places you would never normally go with the missions and it’s pure tactical team pvp
@@honeybadger9425 yes. Pokemon go may have made me walk but ingress made me walk, made me part of a global community, made me travel to so many new cities i would have never travelled otherwise.
@@Splend1dGamer Ingress is such a unique game compared to pokemon go. And as somebody who played pokemon go first and now plays ingress I can say ingress is better. Maybe because I am getting older im not sure. But I enjoy the ingress gameplay more. For being a 11 year old game.
@@cyan4455 Yeah it’s defiantly more grown up and makes you think and plan ahead. Plus gives you a real sense of PvP which you don’t really get from any other gps game fairly often you might see other team coming out and about and get chatting etc
I think after Amazon buys Niantic they will introduce product advertising into the game the way that they have with Pokemon Go as an additional revenue source. Its not an ideal way to go but at least the game will go on and maybe get marketed better.

i like the game but It didn't find me (how it should be). I googled for games like pokemon go. I think they could add so many features that would make the game more attractive, like monthly seasons where you and you or a team claims as much portals for a month or 2 weeks. I started just 2 days and I am still motivated to play. But I dont see my self playing it for more than a moth because it really lacks innovation
There are quarterly events like Pokémon GO but still there are lot of empty days where the only motivation can be your personal goals in Ingress. A bigger player base can make the game interesting for everyone if Niantic promotes the game a bit more.

It's ok man. Ingress community is small but strong, believe in it, it should save our game.
They should make it so you can get small amount of the premium currency by watching ads. And in pokemon go you should also be able to get premium currency by watching ads. So niantic can generate a little bit more revenue
I don't think ads are a good way for niantic games. They kind of ruin the user experience but that's just my opinion. We can just hope ingress can get more sponsorships like Lawson and Circle-K in the past and more and more people support the game by getting the membership.
The price went up because the price of EVERYTHING is going up!!! It doesn't matter what your paying for, all products.....digital or non digital will be going up because of inflation. :-(
Still, it was a huge jump. I know many people that unsubscribed because of it. If they give more inventory space, it will be worth it again.
@@Splend1dGamer Yeah, the inventory space is my biggest issue when it comes to playing the game. I wish they'd give 2 or 3 times more than what they offer.
Thx for the update, despite it having that grim overhead. Was there an actual legit reason why all the Niantic employees were let go a few weeks back? Anyone know?
From Reddit and other online sources, mainly because their revenue dipped after pandemic and pretty much all new projects like nba failed, so to balance revenue and expenses they let go off a high number of their employees.
@Splend1dGamer thanks for the info. It's a shame for sure. Because these Niantic games encourage (despite still staying hooked to the phone/a screen) getting out in the world, exercise, and socialization face to face. I've met quite a number of friends in-game, and meeting them out on the street is just a bonus!
Yes, exercise, travel, make new friends, i experienced it all with ingress and Pokemon GO. But in the long run, Naintic will prioritise only Pokemon GO because it makes a lot of money.
The subscription nearly doubled in my region. The only value for me was the extra invetory space , that did not change, So i cancelled my subscription.

I play in Brazil, and this prices are not practicable here. Too much expensive, we already have a very little number of players and it is decreasing.

I hope the same but niantic's obsession with pokemon go and ignoring their og game is scary.
I stopped my subscription. Its not up to us as players to pay to play. If they need money they should start bringing in ideas like pokemon. Like advertising
