After watching your review I headed on over to bass pro and check those nice boats out. I had my heart set on the 17 but with all the upgrades I added it’s started to get a little pricey for me. So I went ahead and ordered the Mako 15 So I can get into Into some skinny water, thanks for the review.
I have not seen the mako 15, I just recently got to see the 17 and it is a nice boat. Your right the prices can be pretty high. Im glad your getting a good setup.
My husband and I bought a Mako 19ft skiff 2021, with 115 motor, but we also have a trolling motor, that due to the Mako we bought, with at trolling motor we only need 8 inches of water, you don't need horse power, it is all about the boat and what, you want to get out of it, Mako is built from fiberglass, Bass boats, do have some wood build into them.
Your exactly right. I like the way you said that. When I’m looking at boats I think about what I need. I don’t need anything more than that. You got a great boat in the skiff.
I have a 2017 Mako 19 pro skiff w/Mecury 90hp. The boat works well inshore, offshore, and in shallow water. This is what i have done to mine to make it even better. Jack plate and power pole is a must. When you hull shot out of skinny water say 2ft, the back end dips down alot!!!! Tilting the motor does no good, you need the jack plate!!! Also never run on a full 27 gallon tank if you plan on fishing the flats or anything skinny, thats just extra weight and affects your hull shot and with the jack plate you can cruze over very skinny water, that is until you come off of plane then you might be stuck!! Buy the jack plate when you first get the boat and try to have then throw in the install for free if you can. Also get the brackets for the power pole that mount to the jack plate. My next purchase is another power pole. Other than that its is a great boat...
I really like them and have rented several for those family outings out on the lake. Usually a little undersized but I've had alot of fun jumping in the lake and just floating around. They are practically unsinkable too. I had to hit a wave from a monster yacht and it went over the front and had about a foot on the front and it lifted the boat motor out of the water. It was a freak wave and the boat drained off and it was like it never happened.
That is an amazing point. I personally don't mind working on stuff if it breaks down, but alot of people love that warranty and not have to worry about it.
Been shopping, Fishing and hunting long enough to know that Anyone that plugs BASS PRO……. Yeah, do your own research , people. Bass pro is where ya shop if you have more money than brains .
Someone PLEASE tell me why in the hell "MAKO" is designing boats without a FRONT AND REAR DECK SEAT. No one wants to STAND UP FOR 8 HOURS and fish. Come on, guys.
