I had a jet ski sink on me once, luckily I had made it back close to the beach before it went completely under. Had I been out twenty or thirty miles I would've been screwed! Bilge pump people, install a bilge pump!
I was wondering why. You don’t put a bilge pump with a float in it .🤷 I put one in mine and it saved my JetSki and me I was 80 kilometres from home when I hit a log on the river . Keep safe on the water 🇦🇺🇺🇸😃👍
I've had a float before on my seadoo and I use them on my boat but on the ski there is so much movement flying through waves that my float previously got stuck and drained my battery so I switched it out and since I'm not sleeping overnight like I do on my boat I just prefer to manually be able to pump it out, also I really Like to check for water periodically by turning it on while out on the water, Pretty cool yours came in handy!!!!
I installed the factory seadoo bilge on my 19 GTX 300ltd. I want to rip that thing out because it’s always running and kills the speakers/battery and it barely pumps water out. Super slow rate. What model pump is that?
Thanks for letting me know. I just got a 2021 gtx ltd. Was looking in to the bilge pump. Do you think it could be put on a switch? Hard to believe it doesn't have a float or solid state water switch in it at all. Sounds like a badly designed part. Thx
@@ZJMK605 I’m sure you can wire a float switch to it. However, the sheer lack of volume the pump pumps, is totally not worth the time. Even as a peace of mind. Kind of a gross way to compare it but I can pee faster than the factory pump can displace water. Hope that puts it into perspective lol. 😂
no, mine actually only blew out carbon dust when I flushed it for 90 seconds, I cleaned the dust off so I could see how bad it is and it has not come back. I now only flush for 30 seconds and have 130hrs total and 40hrs of riding since I cleaned off the carbon dust. The carbon seal is easy to replace so If it starts blowing dust again I will replace it. So far I have never had a drop of water in my hull and I put the sump pump in just in case that carbon seal starts to leak
So that’s good news, I have 56 hours on my 2019 and just noticed the line. I am installing bilge this week. 2019’s had a bad carbon ring from Mexico, so keep and eye out.
P.s my transducer puck keeps leaking, I’m going with putty, will post on my channel later this week and see how it does. I have sealed that puck several times. I have seen folks use silicone, but I can dig the putty out pretty easily…can’t figure out why it keeps leaking. I go about two trips and it’s out….
@@SushiByTheSea interesting, I had mine leak once from the oring so I lubricated the oring with some marine grease and now I keep fluid about halfway up the hose and so far so good, I tell everyone to never flush more than 30 seconds, it gets to hot and thats what wears away the carbon. I am gonna install a 25 watt vhf radio this week. My 6 watt handheld only has a 5 mile range and I've been running 60 miles out to san clemente island. I am goona put a 12v cigarette adapter on it and just run it from a portable power source

why doesn't seadoo install from factory. Should not be common problems.
Cut the end of the zip ties, u have a bad day and reach in zip ties will cut you open . Cut it flush.
Question why we have to install bilge pump? The original don’t
Thanks
its just an extra addition for safety, I do long ocean trips and if the impeller seal were to fail I can empty out the water.
@@mashdatrashvideos2831 thanks you 👍

Go with a aftermarket name brand bilge pump, heard that seadoos stock bilge pumps don’t flow enough and are over priced compared to aftermarket.
Hey, that black line against the hull is from the carbon fiber ring, have you had a failure yet?
