    I love the Alder ceiling in the kitchen to help distinguish it from the rest of the space. Nice touch!

    Phenomenal - thanks for sharing. My $.02 - incorporate (tasteful) acoustic/sound deadening....thick drapes, decorative foam panels, etc. - your space has a LOT of echoes and sound reflections. You'll be surprised how much more comfortable that space can become if you help address those hard surfaces everywhere. Well done!!!

      @oldworldgardenfarms2749  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it. You make a great point, and we actually do not have any of our floor area rugs and wall coverings or drapery installed yet and yes, they will certainly help for sure. We actually kept a lot of "stuff" out for the walk through but you are correct that when they are in the sound is really much softer.

    Wow! Really awesome. As uncultured as it is I would love to know the ballpark on the cost of the structure (filtration, solar, paint, etc.). Curious the range something like this would cost to build.

    I love this so much. The grounds are to die for. I love the side door entering directly into the pantry - that is genius. I have to say it was so funny when he’s showing the hallway leading to the secondary bedrooms, he said plenty width of the hallway as we get older for wheelchair. But he’s planning on being in a wheelchair lol.

    All homes should be built to accommodate the elderly and disabled. This will be better for everyone.
    Large wide doorways and hallways make using a cane, walker or wheel chair much easier.
    Bathrooms or wet rooms need to have flat floors and no shower hump or pan. A flat floor allows for easy access and drains need to provided.
    Easy to use lever door and faucet handles are easier for the elderly to grip and open.
    Main floors should include a master bedroom, restroom, shower, laundry and wide walk in closet with few steps to enter.
    Homes should be designed with aging in place in mind.

    nice looking place, wouldnt have the stained concrete floors with those deep groves personally but to each his/her own. nice open design, fireplace is WOW, the loft is a great spot for arcade games and a pool table for sure. color selction outside is very good, i like the alderwood inside and the metal ceilings, thats a nice touch. personally would need 4 bdrms and a gigantic master closet for her, lol. your laundry room is awesome and the extra half bath is a nice bonus. overall great lookin home, with plenty of space to entertain and relax. great job! 👍

    Gorgeous job, well thought out. Now we need to know the costs of all the cool details. How much for the floor and acid wash, how much for the radiant heat, what's the monthly cost on the radiant, the mini splits, etc. Might need its own video. ;-)

    • @oldworldgardenfarms2749
      @oldworldgardenfarms2749  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you Brad! The floor and on demand hot water heating system are actually quite inexpensive when compared to purchasing a furnace and duct work. Well under 10K for unit and tubing, which also doubles as our hot water heater. As for the mini splits, they also are about half the cost of traditional air. I think a video on those might be a perfect way to give more info, we will get working on it!

    It appears you did conventional framing vs post & beam or steel. I’ve considered that since you get the best of both traditional and barndomium.
    The stained floor, door and cabinet style, door trim, corrugated ceiling, zone AC system, metal exterior, rain harvesting, age in place floor level is already on our list.

    • @oldworldgardenfarms2749
