- We built a log futon for our cabin. We learned a lot along the way, made a few mistakes, but in the end it turned out pretty nice.

Absolutely amazing job guys you can always fall back on and making cabin furniture now as a hobby and for extra money😊 4 main supplies I keep in my garage and in my trucks is Dawn, duct tape ,crazy glue and white vinegar .

😂😂👍Yes, that’s about what they would cost! We have $300 in the mattress and 75 for the tenon cutter. But after making one we see why they are so expensive, it’s a LOT of work😂😁

Hi Jim! We had to go to Florida for a couple weeks to help our son. His house got flooded in that last hurricane. Got enough done that they can move back in and finish the rest a little at a time. We are definitely ready for some time off🤣🤣🤣

Thank you! We are a little behind😊 We took 2 weeks off to go to Florida to help our son repair flood damage from the last hurricane. It has been raining almost every day since we got back. We are still working, but haven’t filmed as much due to the rain. We will probably post another video on Friday.

@@jcfp290551 Hi, that would be an awesome place for a cabin!😊We live in Arkansas, so we don’t get a lot of snow. Our weather is kind of crazy in the winter. It can be 70 degrees Fahrenheit one day and 15 degrees a couple days later. But mostly we have fairly mild winters. We never expected to build a cabin, but you get some crazy ideas when cooped up during Covid! 😂😂😁
@@natureartgirl I was surprised when you guys were eating noodles with pesto!! I grew up eating that, my dad used to make pesto, and from him I learned how to do it. It is my favorite sauce to eat with pasta. My father had the original recipe, which comes from the province of Genova in Italy.
@@jcfp290551 Yes, it’s one of our favorites too! I love to cook…when I’m not building a cabin🤣🤣🤣 We like to try all kinds of cuisine, but Italian and Mexican are favorites for sure. Lances great grandparents are from Italy, so it may be in his blood🤣🤣

Cinda, are your hummingbirds still around. You still have a feeder out for them. Futon looks amazing
Hi Tom. No, they left in late October I think. It was warm a lot longer than normal this year. The feeders are empty so they won’t crack if it freezes. Just thought they were pretty 😂😂
@@natureartgirl Thanks Cinda. Our hummingbirds left northern Ontario just after Labor Day. We had a warmer than normal fall as well. Winter is here now. Snow is on the ground, to stay till at least the end of March. Merry Christmas.
@@Tomhohenadel It was 65 degrees Fahrenheit here today. We were working in short sleeves part of the day! It’s been really weird weather this year.
Lance did you and Cinda work as builders you guys do a excellent job also are you guys going to do a small end table to match the futon
We were given a little end table, so we are going to use that for now. But we bought some bar stools that we are going to modify to make some little bedside tables. Should have them done pretty soon. 😊👍

Thank you! It is a beautiful area😊 It is just west of Hot Springs. We are about 4 miles from lake Ouachita. It is a beautiful lake that has a lot of little islands that you can camp on. It is almost all national forest around it. 😊👍

Where do you get your logs from are they locally sourced? Or do you dry them yourself
We cut them ourselves. Most were smaller pieces we had left over from building our cabin.
