Log Cabin Build part 36. Pouring Concrete pad for hot tub, landscaping around the cabin and clean up

- This week we poured the concrete pad for the hot tub. We also brought in dirt for the landscaping and gravel for the walkways. Lance did a lot of cleanup of old logs and leftover wood.

Wonderful to get to the clearing up, tidying up, planting and landscaping stage. The place looks wonderful and it will be a wonderful place to chill and relax. Missed the dogs but obviously saw their mischievous presence in the hot tub pad. Well done to the two of you - a great team producing wonderful work together. Blessings for Christmas and New Year.

Lance, it amazes me the uniform size of the logs on your cabin
We have a lot of pines here on this property of varying sizes and age. So we took a rope with knots tied to the circumference we wanted and checked them for that and straightness. 😁
I like the steps you put in the cement pad. Kids love to put their hands in wet cement.

Yes, it was! Right when we got back from Florida. We sure couldn’t pour concrete in this weather, it’s crazy!!🤣🤣 Things definitely haven’t gone as we expected this year, but that’s life😊 Still planning to get together, hopefully things will settle down a little soon. Thanks! Yes the weather is not so cold here. Although last week it got down to 3 degrees Fahrenheit and today it is about 63 degrees! We are barefoot on the front porch having breakfast 😂😂

wow i think it like December there and wearing short selves T-shirts ,I'm guess it don't get to cold there , where i live few days ago it was -15'F. me i like snow winter weather . i have a friend lives mountain of Utah i was there like a month ago there was like 4 feet or more of snow . my friend told me on avg every winter he get over 300 inches of snow , sometimes over 400 inches . it really is so beautiful up there all the snow on trees . i been thinking moving up there last few years
Yes, the snow is beautiful! We don’t get much here. Usually only once or twice a year. But the weather in general is really nice here. Spring is amazing with all the dogwoods and azaleas blooming!

It doesn't work the old saying: "take it or leave it", in this conditions is "take it or... take it!!" lol, lol, after 30 years living here, I'm use to it!! Wow, yeah you definitely have us beat in the cold department 😂🥶 It’s usually not bad here, but that winter storm really hammered us. It was 3 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday morning with 40 mph wind gusts all night. We hardly ever get that cold here. It knocked out the power about half the day.
@@natureartgirl In that area, do you have tornadoes or any of those strong winds? We just have fun with those temperatures of -25 to -30. Piece of cake compared with a tornadoe!! lol
Yes an occasional tornado. But not as often as Kansas or Oklahoma. -25 or -30 is too cold😂😂😂

pour concrete on top of top soil and leaves?
There was a few leaves, but the ground there is hard as a rock. It is mostly rock. We had to dig big holes with the backhoe and fill with good dirt just to plant our bushes. This was just to sit a hot tub on, not a foundation.
