Pity there aren't too many in the West with that capacity. I am seeing fear mongering on a grand scale based on nonsensical notions that the Russians are poised to take over Europe, whilst of course China is poised to take over what is left of the world. This kind of irrational paranoia makes a peaceful, cooperative world an impossible dream. I vote for peace, and it is high time we all held our leaders to account for their militaristic attitudes. Bottom line - no one wins from war.
Very sad that older Russians fall for everything that the Russian government spins out. The younger people have a more logical, rational, practical way of working things out.
Great guy, everything 100% on point. He nailed the real reasons former Warsaw Pact members ran to Europe and NATO, icluding Ukraine. Neither the USSR, nor the Russian Federation ever had anything prosper for them, while Europe rose in prosperity after WW2 with help of the US. Cheers from central Europe.
Russia is a former Warsaw Pact member. It was denied NATO membership. Sweden used to be a neutral country. Finland was never part of the Warsaw Pact either. One of the conditions for German reunification was that NATO would not expand one inch east beyond East Germany. The Budapest memorandum stated that Ukraine would get to keep the Soviet navy in the Black Sea and Russia would keep the nuclear weapons. Also, Russia would guarantee Ukraine's independence. Russia is still providing gas to the Ukraine. The Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe. Before 2014 it was the second poorest after the Kosovo. During the 1990s, the Russian economy was almost nonexistent, and what was there was mostly controlled by gangsters. During the 2000s, that changed for the better. With the 2020s, the economy is declining again. In 2010, the Euro almost went bankrupt.
@davidwuhrer6704 The Warsaw Pact Headcommand was under Soviet Russian command and sovietrussian troops were stationed in every member state. The warsaw pact members were puppets of the Kremlin. The Kremlin is one of the main reasons NATO exist. How the heck can the idiotic corrupt Kremlin be a NATO member, if it is it's main antagonist.
True: instead of building soft power, Russia relied on hard power, as it has done so many times in the past. My guess is, it didn’t even try. The difference between the EU and Russia is plainly visible: you queue to be accepted into the EU, while you pray not to end up on Russia’s menu.
I don't think Russia had a problem with Ukraine joining the EU which is an economic cooperation, their issue was build up of nato bases and nukes right on their border.
@ They are well aware that NATO, as a coalition of nations, will never launch an attack on Russia-primarily because such a decision would require unanimous agreement among all member states. In fact, Russia's aggresive behavior is the very reason NATO was formed. NATO’s defense expenditures steadily declined over the years until Russia’s annexation of Crimea. This behavior isn’t about the EU or NATO; it’s rooted in the mindset of an expansionist empire.
@@tofeelornottofeel5446 This was the issue and it was very big issue. I believe it was actually main factor for the war and not potential NATO bases near the border(which are now in Finland and Sweden anyway).

НАТО это угроза для России, как бы вы не хотели убедить нас в обратном. Мы не идиоты.
Agreed. NATO is a defence alliance not an attack alliance. Having said that Putin needs to leave Ukraine before NATO is forced to defend Ukraine.
Why would NATO defend a non NATO country? The American people will not get involved in a war with Russia over European countries that want to settle old scores with Russia.
@@charlesyoung2530 what old scores? Russia literally invaded Ukraine
@@charlesyoung2530 Russia is the one trying to settle old scores. Europe is the reactive part...

You are so russophobic
Good to see there are some people in russia with critical thinking who dont fall in propoganda
wish I could find more people like this in the UK that dont fall for our government's propaganda
I hope that young man stays safe! People like him should be leading Russia!
Guy has brains and balls!! 😂
People around the world just want ✌️ PEACE,
Very sad that older Russians fall for everything that the Russian government spins out. The younger people have a more logical, rational, practical way of working things out.
Some seek authority as a means to fix the problems of their nation. Even in the US, hence Trump.
Well, education matters. Those old folks were brainwashed since birth.
Shame the 600lb Americans aren't quite so clear headed
@Mr.Morden and then things got worse.
I find that weird. Older people have been lied to many times during their lives, why have they not become more sceptical?
@@tofeelornottofeel5446Putin stopped EU application via puppet government though. Which later led to the uprising that Russian trolls blame the CIA for.
Imagine how unpopular a neighbour russia must be for Ukraine to sever historical ties and try their luck with countries far away and without historical ties. And if it is so simple as to bribe a few protesters and give cake to people to make them overthrow a government im sure russia would've done that too. Other than trying for media monopoly and quite obviously attempting to make Ukraine into another Belarus.
@@tofeelornottofeel5446There have never been NATO nuclear weapons in Eastern Europe, it's lies and fearmongering.

I'm impressed with many of the young people interviewed on this channel. You'd be hard pressed to find many in North America with this level of insight.
Well, from the info in the top left and his idealism, I figure he's a law student. Not all young people in the US are law students specializing in international law. However, I'd expect a comparable level of understanding, even if they don't draw the exact same conclusions, from US 25-year olds studying international law. :P
