      @@Saveyourbs Well I own a Chevy and it’s been a great truck last few years. Here are some things to keep in mind. Safety on new Tundra is more than likely 5 stars with standard safety equipment where as Chevy is a 4 star rating with optional safety equipment. With Chevy you can get a V8 Tundra is only V6 TT. Chevy has auto 4X4 Tundra does not. It’s much easier to access a Silverado truck bed with the bumper steps but with Tundra you have to have optional power step if you go with higher trims. Tundras entire back window on crew max goes all the way down and has optional panoramic sunroof. Chevy has a much better remote start system set up from the key fob where eventually with Tundra you will need a subscription for. Tundra has reliability and longevity on their side even with the new model year and has a better fit and finish over all. Chevys new interior in March of this year is leaps better than current set up where as Tundras interior in the 2022 is really nice with the optional 14 inch screen. Odds are likely Chevys infotainment system with be more user friendly and less annoying to use. The seats I think may be more comfortable in the Tundra and I’ve heard the ride quality is smooth and excellent compared to competition in the Tundra. Chevys isn’t bad at all as I own it and enjoy driving it. Hope that helps with your decision.

      @@josephkraft5640 thanks for all the info. As far as my current truck anything above LT is an improvement. Also I’m like you I’m not into getting off road anymore. Just want some luxury and comfort. My main issue is that I like all of them. Every truck is offering something that I like and they all look good to me. I have until next month to decide. We’ll see.

    Another good video. Over $60k sounds crazy, but it's on the level with new trucks these days. I'm confused by the spray liner over a composite bed, seems like a unnecessary expense🤷‍♂

    • @jeremycook9852
      @jeremycook9852 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The composite bed is really slippery. Adding a spray in liner will aid in that. The composite's benefit is that it will never rust.

    • @bryanangelov
      @bryanangelov 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I saw it in person and it feels nice, but I doubt it will last. I still think that a bed mat is a better option to protect yourself for slipping. The dealership was charging about $600 for the spay liner and a decent bed mat can be bought for $100 - $150.

      Having a 2010 Toyota Taco with the same bed over 10 years, depending on the user's needs most would be better off without the overpriced spray-in liner and use a fitted rubber mat (cheaper). I prefer the bed not having the liner so it is easier to remove, and clean the payload area is filled with mulch, topsoil, etc.

    The 1400lb payload is confusing seeing as a 4x4 Maverick XL offers 1500lbs of payload.

    • @SliderFury1
      @SliderFury1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Maverick is a MUCH lighter vehicle though. You could overload this Tundra to 1500 lbs and it'll still drive just fine, but a Maverick will be squirrelly at 80-90% of its max payload.
      I know someone who's Ram had a payload of 1338, loaded it up with 2,500 lbs of bricks for a short drive. Handled it fine. Certainly not the safest thing to do but the fact is that the truck was able to handle it. This Tundra could likely so the same. Put 2500 lbs in the bed of a Maverick and the rear axel will snap like a twig.

    Thumbs up on the presentation - Unfortunately, the main reason to upgrade my 17 year old, 2005 Tundra is has a 1575 LB. payload rating . The truck runs great for its age. Sadly, a 1400 LB. payload rating is a bit low for anyone considering a slide-in camper. Long story, cut short - Toyota seems to have ceded the truck camper market segment to the domestic big three.

    • @SliderFury1
      @SliderFury1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I mean, Toyota has never had anything that directly competes with the big three's HD trucks so I think rather than continuing to sit toward the top end of half-ton capability but being behind in features and accoutrements, they followed the market and geared the new Tundra more towards luxury and style, like most half-tons are these days.
      Unfortunately, in my opinion, they didn't do a very good job, and Ford/GM half-tons now beat them handily in overall capability, and Ram still beats them on features, ride quality (at least with the air suspension) and style (both interior and exterior).

      Exactly and the same that would buy the 2017 TRD Tacoma Sport that I just traded and got 32k$ for turn around and buy it for $36,500 and finance it for 7 years. Just bought my fully optioned SR5 Crew Cab for 58k with just as much or even more than the platinum I did not build I got lucky! oh and sunroofs are useless in a pick up truck mine did not have that option thankfully. so my point is this Toyota don’t make no junk I could have bought any truck I wanted but at the end of the day I spend my money wisely and at 2.49% interest for 60 months at 401.00$ and just like the last truck pay off early I’m winning and even though big business is in the hands of crooked politicians that tried to overthrow our government Toyota still supporting the insurgents in the GOP I love camping and I love pulling my trailer with the best equipment my money can buy.

    Curious about the new Tundra's composite (i.e. plastic) cargo bed. Since it's not exposed metal, does it need a bed liner?

    • @agentcovert
      @agentcovert 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It seems people say its slippery when wet..so people are using a rubber mat made for it or a spray in bed liner..I would have to slip and fall a few times before I would do anything about the bed that possibly could be slippery when wet..like maybe don't stand in the bed when wet if it was truly that bad..lol or buy better shoes maybe..lol..I think it's just the Stealership trying to get an extra $600 from you..
