Ignore the rankings. Purdue was #1 for a while. Great. The most important thing in my opinion was the fact that these freshman are back to playing with confidence. I was worried that they might come down to earth in BIG play; however, Smith is managing the game like a senior, and Loyer is making clutch shots. With the NPoY on this team, all they really need is Gillis and Morton to find their offensive game.

Lifelong Purdue fan (not an inconsiderable number of years!), and I agree they should probably be number two in AP this week. But after watching Houston play yesterday, I think they'd beat us 7 of 10 times. They're a legit 1.
PSU was in charge of ticket sales, 90+% of fans were PSU fans, and even the Public Address announcer was from PSU. I'd argue this environment was even more hostile on this specific date for Purdue than if they had played at PSU... so yes, it should be considered a road game for Purdue.
They're also a fluke-steal (Ohio State) and a bad call (Nebraska) away from having 3 losses. For Purdue, it's all about 3pt%. If >40%, they're going to win. If not, it's a toss-up.
@@hosehead3179 Which is my point. If Purdue can hit 3s, he can't get doubled and tripled with every possession because you have to respect the perimeter players and won't be able to catch up with the swing and skip passes to contest the open looks. As a defense, you're not going to trade 65% 2s for 50% 3s over the course of an entire game. The math doesn't work, which opens up the court to give him the opportunity to get to his left shoulder. Edey is always going to get played physically, but he gives as good (or better) than he gets. He's a monster. Three keys to success for Purdue: 1. >40% 3-point average 2. Edey NOT in foul trouble (hasn't been a problem once this year) 3. >75% from the line. ...but what I do know.
yet Nick Nurse wants him on Team Canada with 11 NBA players for 2023 world cup!Great hands, good footwork, improved tremendously last couple years .Can make NBA, but probably get more playing time in Europe or Asia. Either way will be making lots of money after college for not being skilled, lol.Hopefully he`ll see the not skilled part because if you know him he`s a bulldog and likes to get motivated.

Braden Smith reminds me so much of Andrew Nembhard, especially out of the pnr. Had one bad game but he’s as steady as they come. From an illini fan 🔸🔹
He’s great example of Painter noting the HS ratings mean little

That kid plays his heart out every game. Can’t always count on him to score but you can count on 💯 effort.
U gotta send bodies at Edey and pray that fletcher and the other guards have an off night shooting 😂
Purdue has 5 quad 1 wins ( should be 6 because that was a road game) Houston has 2 quad 1 wins. Purdue should be 2 behind Kansas if not still first

Purdue is a shit-shot away from being unbeaten

ZACH EDEY .. CBB 🏀 NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR FRONTRUNNER ..
Will TO and rob eat their words about Purdue “not having a bucket getter” after that fletcher loyer performance at OSU?
Purdue's been breaking my heart since 1969!
BTFU! 🚂 ⬆️
That title!!! 😂😂😂 A MUCH NEEDED win?!?! Come on, man! They're 15-1.
Rather win than lose after your first loss
Edey is tall thats all , not skilled .
