This is the most informative video on eyelid surgery and techniques that I have ever come across. I had eyelid surgery many years ago and never been happy with how they turned out... the doctor did not give any options on techniques or explained his process... basically did not individualize the surgery to my needs. He used the suture technique... and it's very obvious i've had eyelid surgery... as an East Asian I don't have deep set eyes and this technique is very fake looking ... the surgery lines can be seen on my eyelids when I half close my eyes or look down. My eyelids are very puffy/swollen and this was done years ago... it looks like he stuffed the fat into my eyelids, making them appear larger than they should. Can revision be done to thin them out? Plus my left eye ... crease is bigger than my right and he obviously did TWO cuts instead of one smooth one across. I can tell where he cut, stopped and started again :(
my question for Dr. Buonassisi is does he ever had patient requested 11-12 crease shape? another words, 11 mm outside fold, 12 mm middle/center n 11 mm inside fold or 12 mm all around the lid? I had my double eyelids surgery done two months ago. it was suture technique with 9 mm outside fold, 10 mm middle/center n 9 mm inside fold. my doctor said loads of excess skins and fats were removed as well. my eyes seem to resampled small to medium crease on your vdo. is it too soon to say that I don't like it or not too happy with it? is it too soon to complain because of the swelling is still here? please response
Um, hello. I am a thirteen year old Asian living in the united states. I never understood about double eyelids until I started developing a cosmetic love. I usually use eyelash glue and make a crease myself if I put on cosmetics. I have found this tiring. I would like to have a consultation or get information about consultation. Please respond. Thank you.
at the comments below. i guess there are people arguing for both sides and also when i mentioned the thought to my friends about getting it down.. they were all against it. but then again both my aunt and my mum got theirs done when they were 18 and it looks really natural, pretty and good. yes, there is a risk and pain involved but theres a risk in everything like mentioned below. but if its done well it should look heaps pretty
My mother has a large outside crease and has never had plastic surgery... She's had the same creases when she was a little kid. It doesn't look "unnatural" either.
Both of my parents have deep double eye lids especially my dad (He has huge eyes!). But my brothers and I didn't inherit their eyes but my grandpa's dad, who happens to be Chinese. I'm 95% filipina and 5% chinese. I have monolids but they aren't that small. I love my eyes :)
you think that they could fix my eyelids because i have one eyelid that its crease is low and the other eye i have one that has both high and medium crease and it makes one eye look bigger than the other like O.o
can eyelid surgery be done to CORRECT uneven eyes? i have a high, outside fold on one eye and no fold on the other. i was born with even eyelids but after an injury and after severe swelling, my right eye lost its fold and now my eyes are very uneven.
im not asian and i have hooded eyes, which look very puffy. I believe it makes me look flat-out not feminine and i so desperately wish i had high creases, like jessica alba for exemple.
Yea I look angry all the time. People often says I look tired and depress but I just can't project my happiness through my eyes. It just looks so angry all the time.

I never have double eyelid surgery and I was born with double eyelid naturally but, how come my right eye is a medium crease? and for my left eye its a little high crease? I'm Vietnamese by the way.
I am monolids.... But i dnt need surgery.... i thnk God dat He gave me a tiny eye wit i can see all da beautiful things dat he made......so dear asian frens just be grateful 4 yoa little tiny eye ...dats more worth than anithing else.....remember ders always a side effect later.......be grateful to wat u hve......😄😄😄
I'm half chinese and half british. My sister has big golden brown eyes & I have brown uneven eyes. one is a double and one is a semi-double. Depending on the amount of sleep i get it changes. Can't get too much sleep or too little or one will be much smaller than the other. life sucks.
>:C I have a natural high crease inside fold eyelid. I'm so cool. But aren't everyone but Asians (majority it seems) born with double eyelids? I've noticed a lot of Chinese are born with double eyelids from the ones I've met in the past, and some mixed Asians (ex: Korean/Chinese).
Actually, the high open crease does occur naturally in some Asians. How do I know? I sit next to a girl like that in school. And there's also another girl like that in my Psychology class, too. But I do admit that it is veeeery rare.
I really dislike my single eyelids. there are so many different types of single eyelids.. but the one I have just has so much excess skin/fat idk. It's not only because of beauty that I don't like them. I have other reasons unrelated to beauty. I don't think I can ever get surgery though.
In my family, all of them have double eyelids but me. And my brothers used to bully me for that when I was a kid, damn it got me scarred, I am 20 now and still think that I need double eyelid surgery even the bullying thing has gone. :/ wish I can afford it.
Some asians with monolids are so beautiful. Then some others including me look tired and angry all the time. It ticks me off when people ask me "What's wrong?" or "You look really tired." It also does a number on my morale.
Let's spend all our money doing these procedures on fixing our love for who we are and learn to accept others for what they look like. Look like yourself and be proud of that!
shalom1948hellyeah yup, im considering the surgery cause i have a small double eyelid on one eye, and a weird almost monolid on the other eye, so i just want to even the eyes out. i like my eyes, its just that makeup is impossible and i just think its weird when one of my eyes look significantly smaller than the other.
I think its silly to change your appearance for shallow reasons, if the lids caused trouble as in extremely thick or unbalanced (which I have seen) I could understand but most of the people who do this are doing it for purely cosmetic reasons. I love my singles and I'm sticking with them.
I never thought about eyelid creases, let alone there being insecurities involved (though I guess there is an insecurity for everything). Anyone else check their creases after watching this? xD
@crunkhottie101 We are FAR from "a group" of people. Asians are thousands upon thousands of cultural-linguistic-ethnically unrelated and diverse "groups." And FYI, only about 50% of East Asians are born with a single-lid. I don't agree with changing your face, but I don't think people should judge what others find beautiful. Many people would say Chinese feet binding is "stupid." It's their culture, stop judging.
The people in the video look better with single eyelids. After surgery, they look like a different nationality. Most East Asians are supposed to have single eyelids. This double eyelid surgery trend in Korea is disturbing and sad. I hate it especially when men get it.
@m2mfan4eva I have heard of make-up, braces, jewelery, clothing, what I've never heard of is those things killing someone. Surgery for people who need it is dangerous enough, so why are hundreds of thousands of people having surgery for a reason that equates to putting on lip gloss. You're probably thinking 'oh it's just a little nip,its been done a million times' but what you don't hear is about the infections and blood clots that leave people without their sight and sometimes their lives.
is there an age limit as to when you can get the surgery done?
Can i know around how much should i expect to pay?
very nice orientation for doctor and patients
Is this doctor still active? I would like to reach him for the surgery.

but if its done well it should look heaps pretty
But my eyelid creases don't go away when my eyes are closed, is this a problem or is it just a rare natural thing? ...
I have a question! How much does the medium height incisional procedure cost?
My mother has a large outside crease and has never had plastic surgery... She's had the same creases when she was a little kid. It doesn't look "unnatural" either.

how much does this cost?
What i always wondered was that i have a double lid with an obvious crease, could i still get the surgery to reshape the crease?
you think that they could fix my eyelids because i have one eyelid that its crease is low and the other eye i have one that has both high and medium crease and it makes one eye look bigger than the other like O.o
I have small crease on one and half a crease on the other. My eyes are almond shape, and they're small. Im considering getting this
Also i am not asian, I'm caucasian. Doss that hamper my eligibility
my eyelids are permanantly open, i find it hard to get to sleep.

I'm asian with double eyelid. My brother has single eyelid but i think he looks good with it.
This video is very interesting...
BTW, I have natural double eyelids and my eyes are outside fold. I am glad I have double eyelids. ^^

haha! That would be easily fixable if it was the case. :)
