@@JeromeRufin Gutted to hear you’ve parted ways with Mike, he was amazing (totally get the GolfTech departure though). However, I get the change. Mike has such much to give but he transmits in overly long, fast streams of verbiage. I could see you getting overwhelmed; I was and I wasn’t the one with a club in my hand! Your new instructor’s technique is much better in my view: using minimum words for maximum effect. Looking forward to seeing your next lesson.

Chris is one of the best coaches and mentors that any golfer can have. I have two daughters (13 and 16) who have been working with him for about a year. Their understanding of their golf swing and the mental part of golf have grown so much. My oldest has gone from high 80s/low90s to her best 71 last weekend. With hard work and determination, you will definitely be able to get to scratch with Chris in your corner! Enjoy the journey!

Jérôme for you to be playing without driver up to this point is going to be exactly how you needed to develop. Mike gave you so many fundamentals. Now you need to step back and try to take in the other part of his instruction. Tempo is the perfect meditation for you to slow your judgmental and pressured thoughts.
You brought so many advanced fundamentals to Chris that all he had to do is get you give yourself time to execute and to take a moment to let down at the end of your swing.
Suddenly being a TH-cam star was pressure enough!
Mike rightfully gave you the correct building blocks now tempo and taking a moment at the end of each swing to relax and enjoy!

A nice, easy transition to get the club it the correct place and then exploding once the hands have dropped inside has helped my iron game immensely. Rushing from the top gets my upper body turned too quickly and i end up out over the ball and path is out to in. I always tell myself, "let the club do the work" and it keeps me calm and fluid in my transition. He might be the best instructor I've watched.

I think Mike resonates more with golfers that have been playing for quite some time already and understand the concepts and feel he is talking about generally. Jerome very new to golf so those lessons had way too much information for him. Sort of like overloading his brain with too many things to think about. Even though all the things were absolutely correct. This new coach seems like he will mold his natural swing so small steps to bring it in line with less thought. Great for Jerome I believe and I look forward to seeing this coach in action also. Mike still the goat until proven otherwise but I do look forward to another top tier coach and his thought process on the game.

While there are many professional players that hit a fade, I think they all learned to hit from the inside and hit a draw when they were younger. I think this is what Mike Wydra was trying to get you to do first before moving on to anything else.
I think there is a difference between trying to get a swing motion that you can bring to the golf course, and getting a swing motion that will set you up for long term success. This guy Chris is trying to get you repeatable enough to play on the golf course, but you need to be able to come at it from the inside and compress it for longer term success.
You need to be able to view yourself like an independent observer in this game. You are very up and down with your emotions on whether you hit a good shot or a not so good shot. You played basketball. When a good player misses a free throw do you see them flail around in disgust? No, they ask for the ball again because dammit, they are going to make the next one.
The game cannot be played with hope and fear. You are learning.

yeah, Mike seemed to have a long-term focus that may be difficult to apply in the beginning, and you won’t see quick improvements. I still watch the Mike sessions quite often and try to work on it on the range, especially the hands-forward and punch shots drills. Actually started taking divots on the course where they should be on with my irons. Never had that before. Not sure though if Mike managed to explain his overall approach good enough to show where this is going and if Jermone ever bought fully into it. New coach seems to be good, too, more a quick fix approach.

Chris is a good next step in instruction. Mike was basic and conceptual. More emphasis on the feel of the golf swing. Jerome had a stiff, point to point swing with Mike. It didn’t look fluid. Notice how much Jerome is actually swinging the golf club and hitting balls with Chris and instructing Jerome after each swing. Much more effective style. His game really took off after working with Chris.

You have lot of fundamental issues in your swing that'll make it difficult to find consistency in the long run. You need to learn the proper take away and back swing that gets you on plane and sets you up for the rest of the swing before anything. You're just ingraining poor habits

Same here. That take back is a big problem. It rolling the risk in and opening the face. That backswing will cause inconsistent swing even if you have good tempo. 2 months ago, you had a better good take back with Bill the coach on the other video. So get back to that take back by doing dry drills at home.

Fast - slow - slow - Fast....too many thoughts there. The pupil is way too fast on the backswing. By picking the club up immediately before anything else creates too much misdirected speed. He'd be better off trying the 'Caddie drag' as espoused by Gregg McHatton. This would help develop better tempo and a more one piece take away.
