    I still wonder what made the Caribou at the start of ep 1 get such a fright that they run off the cliff. The hunter was there, it was still light outside and he didn't see an entity chase them right? So I'm thinking it's some sort of frequency. When rose skinned the wolf her radio played up too. Fun live!

    The group that helped Anne K delever the baby in the flashback scene killed the scientists in revenge for her murder. Blair, the red head from the very first episode, also helped because she is staying with her co-worker. She is missing fingers, and so it was her prints they found on the bodies.

      Why wouldn't they be wearing gloves?!? They have unlimited access to them!! Hmmm. I like this revenge theory though.

      but why the scientist and not the mine workers? i understand they fudge the numbers for the mine but ultimately its the mine workers / owner that shoulda been killed by the girls. i dont think this is it anyway. wild theory i've come to believe tho is Peter killed Anne K

    They set up the protest the whole season. Pretty sure I said this on the last episode. Leah attended a pre-protest rally with her girlfriend. A bar fight broke out in episode 1-2 based on the mine. It’s been building in the background for 2 weeks in universe. Like the movie Joker. You slowly see the city unravel until the riot at the end.
    The protest scene was way too fast though and just abruptly ends.
    I think Navarro and Pete live. Danvers has the least to live for. She’s a lot more like Hank. She redeems herself to Leah by solving both cases and taking down the mine, but she does in the process.
    Pete and Kayla definitely get back together and I think Navarro, Q Man and Rose become a big happy family.
    Season ends with Navarro seeing a happy ghost of her sister and mom, and Annie, all proud of her for solving the case. Like the end of Return of the Jedi when Luke sees Ben and Anakin.

    Hello! How are you? Thank you very much for the review! 🙏✨
    First scene, felt super personal like the fire, the cremation. The whole concept of death right there.
    -the scene between kayla and peter felt a little not organic at all. It just doesn't have anything to do with the crime.
    -Hank seems like a really sad person. Until we find out what he does!
    - Leah and Sherry situation was awful to look at. Sherry abandoned Leah right there. Broke my heart.
    - The thing with the avalanche is so false and obvious. The results! Love the conflict of interest between the powerful and the politic game. I think the script is alright.
    - Also, THIS has a lot to do with the " dyatlov pass incident"
    - Hank says a lot he is not a killer in this episode, lol.
    - So we learn where Annie K died, and who moved her body.
    - we learn what the spiral finally means.
    - we can see that Blair has something to do with what is happening! She appears in a scene, walking right at the moment they are explaining what the spiral means-
    - Navarro "real" name might be Sedna maybe. But Idk.
    - Navarro is so crazy rn. Like, how can she walk on ice, at night, in that direction!?
    - navarro has PTSD maybe because she can see a lot of things in the desert.
    - Peter and Liz conversation about the Wheeler case is pretty good.

  • @RealBradMiller
    @RealBradMiller 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    11:45 When we learn about what the spiral is, Blair, the woman that has 'no idea' what the spiral is walks in.... This laundromat is an important thread to the case.

      @@sceneinvaders have you seen the Alien Spacecraft in episode one?
      49:15 , Rose is following Rust's Father's ghost on to the ice...she stumbles a bit then stands up straight and still on the right side of the screen facing forward...
      The camera pans out intentionally , now Rose is right side of the screen because it's intentionally done, leaving the sky to the left the biggest thing on the screen, the spaceship enters from the left, descending from left to right, it's greenish in appearance with lights all the way around the Disc shaped ship in a circle, its only for a second... rewind and pause from 49:00 to 49:16... Don't look at Rose, do this until you cant deny it, won't take much ..I've watched this episode ten times at least and never caught it because I was looking at Rose, don't ..
      It's UNDENIABLE. 💥

    You know what I find interesting? How many of the actors are from the UK/England/Ireland. Christopher Eccleston (Connolly), Fiona Shaw (Rose), Finn Bennett (Pete), Owen McDonnell (Raymond Clark), Dervla Kirwan (Kate McKittrick), even Blair (Kathryn Wilder), and a lot more besides. I guess it was easier/cheaper to fly them into Iceland than from LA. Of course, the Indigenous actors are from N. America or Greenland.

    This was the best episode for so may reasons although there is no way in the real world that a police chief would disclose investigation info to a lay person . Why does Kate have the results of the autopsies/ forensic eval? Maybe, Liz reveals because her boss is there but this scene is totally unrealistic. Of course, this leads to Kate's meeting with Hank which reveals alot about the Annie K case. Also, Connolly totally sabotages Danvers here for his supposed upcoming political career so I guess no more sex with Liz after this mess. I Think this will lead to Liz burning Connolly as well and Kate and Silver Star in the final episode. Looking forward to Episode 6

    Danvers said she's going to call Ted because she's in shock. It's standard procedure. She reverts to knee-jerk standard procedure. She's fundamentally a good cop. She doesn't immediately think of a cover-up. Only when Navarro, who wasn't there came in and pointed out what we think of as obvious, did the pieces start to fall together. Danvers had just seen a man murdered in cold blood by essentially a home invader WHO TOOK HER GUN (you didn't mention that, and that's terrifying for a cop - everything turned very quickly from fishy to deadly), and saw a follow-up of a son shooting his own father in the head. Would you be thinking clearly?

  • @nicholebigley
    @nicholebigley 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I find it interesting that Peter’s son is named Darwin. Could it be a nod to Darwinism “all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce.” The deaths of the newborns, the elk that jumped off the cliff, the scientists looking for the “origin of life.” All these things are hints.

  • @D.BlueGreen
    @D.BlueGreen 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Connelly may be involved with the cover up but he didn't just start sleeping with the Chief-Liz. In an early episode she said they'd been doing this for 19 yrs.

  • @sabineb.5616

    Navarro is probably channeling Sedna, and her sister and her mother did the same. There is a very strong hint which points in that direction: Danvers and Navarro are talking about praying. Navarro says she believes in praying - and then she says that she is listening to prayers. Could this be a hint that she is a goddess or that she is channeling a goddess? If that's indeed the plotline, Navarro/Sedna might return into the sea - just like her sister and her mother.

    Annie K. was killed by the polar bear in the cave, which was the polar bear's den. Annie was in there because she wanted to discover the endangered species and shut down the mine. Kate made Hank move the body. The frozen mishmash of scientists can be explained by them doing a polar bear plunge and being attacked by the polar bear who was now awakened from hibernation and wandering around. They couldn't get out of the water because of the bear and they froze.

  • @debbieebbiebobebbie

    Final Danvers hugs Leah, Pete dies by Navarro, she exposes the mine poisoning water, survives, gets help for her mental illness and marries Qavvik (lol probably not she definitely has a split personality and ki||3d her mom and others as Sedna which will be her Inupiaq name as well.)
    …imho of course.

I figured that Hank was part of the story with Annie K so no surprise there. Way to contrary to always second guess each seen Dude green head phones ?! I feel validated about the water being poisoned. I think Annie found proof in the mines and that's why her video felt like an expose vlog. I assume miners, maybe the scientists were down there or miner henchmen following her and killed her.
    As for the modern day killer, it's a revenge tour. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but the Sedna goddess that's been referenced in nearly every episode is the ruler of the sea and it's animals but also known for revenge because her father killed her in a deplorable way. And I believe that those themes of the myth are planted in the show. I believe it's a group of angry towns people and/or clark who are behind it because they are sick or the black water.

    The series needs to be longer. I want more fleshing out of the characters. Pete’s wife has said less than ten sentences! You can’t get ahold of the characters unless you spend TIME revealing them through dialogue. HBO just doesn’t want to budget for a longer series.

      With today's announcement about the fifth season being handled by the same team, the idea from days ago about the need for another part to conclude the plot properly came true. I'm not thrilled. But hopefully, Lopez won't write most of the episodes alone, as in my opinion, her direction overall isn't bad. She needs support from more writers, as happened in episode 5, which, in my opinion, is the best executed with that final sequence. They can fix many of the problems the fourth season had. Hopefully, they'll resolve the fossil under the ice, Clark and Annie's spirals, the trailer with symbolism, the Tuttles, and the beast drawn in one of the episodes, as I doubt Pizzolatto will return to try to fix what's going to happen... Anyway, we still have season one. Greetings and sorry if the English is odd, I'm not fluent.@@sceneinvaders

    I know America has stopped using "est" due to cultural differences or whatever but if you're trying to compliment something calling it *one of the stronger* things is not the way to do it. That means it's not the strongest scene, or even one of. It's just one of the stronger scenes. Understatement is polite when it's about yourself. It's a put down when directed at others.
