These two songs in particular show the range TW is capable of. QOTMS rocks your face off while Paulina pierces your soul in 23.

23 is a beautiful song. Pau’s ability to convey emotion is astounding.

Yes, the Scream in QOTMS is on the album and is part of the backing track. I believe that was something Dany did (being Dany and playing around trying to be creepy and scary in the dark one night) and they recorded as part of the demo of the song. They couldn't improve on it for the album recording sessions, so they kept it as is and it made it onto the album.
The doll is called Dr Simi. It's considered a gift from the audience respecting an international artist. That's why DPA seem moved when people give them the dolls. The last count I heard they had collected over 50 of them at their concerts in Mexico. I'm sure the upcoming concerts will add to that number.
I expect them to record more live music from the upcoming concerts in Mexico. So, I'm looking forward to whatever they decide to release. I'm also expecting new music, perhaps not a new single this year, but I hope early in 2024 with a new album release to follow later in the year. As you will see whenever you watch the VMA performances, they have developed a new level of confidence in their live performances, and carry themselves with the swagger of Rock Stars in a way they haven't before. That's what happened when they begin to sell out concerts all over your native country and it is also happening wherever they go. Their 2024 World Tour will be spectacular.
Yeah the comments are mentioning Dany being the voice of that scream and my goodness did she nail it. For Real, she is giving Jamie Lee Curtis a run for her money. AHHH right, Dr. Simi, yes I remember. I learned about it during Revenant from that venue, just forgot the name!
From the sounds of it, they are recording a new album now. So, can't wait to see what else they come out with. I'm ready for it.

When you ask us if we've heard something in a recording or performance, the answer is "Yes, we have. Many times." Have you heard the "Air Raid Siren" and the bass harmonics in "Evolve?"
"23" is a ballad but they create so much tension within the song and depth withing the song.
That is a Dr. Simi plushie that is the mascot to a large, popular pharmacy in Mexico. It is traditional to toss them onto the stage during a concert (try doing that in the US!). Lady Gaga said if she was hit by one she would walk off stage. Well, one hit her in the face and she just laughed it off.
I have heard that in Evolve Yes. I think I am just paranoid because I'll record something, then when I go to edit the video, I hear a ton more through my speakers than I do through my headphones. Oh well, I'm going to upgrade to a high quality plug in pair. Thanks for the info on Dr. Simi. That's funny!

Jazz fusion baseline, double kick blast beats, and grungy, growly, melodic vocals all in one song is perfection i never knew I needed until my first listen to QOTMS.
And Pau's vocals rip your heart out in the next song. That slight huskiness with the thin texture on the highs and slightly fast vibrato just lends a fragility that makes her perfect for the deeply vulnerable, emotional lyrics.
Yeah watching those back to back was quite the ride. This band though!! LOVE EM. 🤘⚡Keep on Rockin'⚡🤘
There is a photo of them in their green room after the show sitting on a couch with 20-30 of the dolls on their laps. The shirt you are wearing may be a collectors item. The early printings have Sept 12th as G&R show. In late Aug they changed Sept 12 to say VMA's

The shirt was from their early spring ERROR tour, I got it when I went to their show and they were headlining with Plush and Holy Wars as openers.

They have a quite nice backing track going on in most of the songs, not that the backing track makes the song, they can play without it which they have done but it enhances the song. The good part, they are always in sync and the songs sounds very much that the album, the cons, they always never improvise.
May be later they were playing with some improvising someting at the of the songs or extend some solos but I think is not a problem too

QOTMS is considered their most metal song and in a minor key to give a horror quality to it. Dany said that she recorded the scream in a dark booth in the studio with no light. Pau said 23 can mean either the year 2023 when she turns 21 and can finally drink alcoholic beverages or when she turns 23 - it’s up to the listener.
QOTMS is a very metal song, I mean that whole album rihgt?! Dang. Love it. That scream is spot on, give Jaime Lee Curtis a run for her money. So yeah, in 23 I caught the lyric of her being 23 and being able to drink but it not really amounting to anything. Very cool. ⚡🤘Keep on Rockin'⚡🤘

yes, there's some scream tracks being played in QOTMS... when they recorded them, they put a sign on the door of the studio to please NOT call the popo if you heard them... Dany was in a room with the lights off to record them... Ale and Pau were there but in another room... they mention how scary it all sounded in one of their vlogs and Dany said something to the effect of scaring herself 😹

I remember watching a video of Dany singing QOTMS and she was so happy when she nailed the long scream at the end. Doing it in one breath is hard!

Great vocals by Dany on the Qotms song , and much better than the Lunario concert performance , though the Lunario guitar solo was much better than this one .Regarding the song "23 " one of THE finest singing / drumming performances i have ever seen by anyone , including Pau herself .
Yeah that performance of that song was fantastic. Which is great because they are really growing into their own. And as for 23, I already favored Pau as it was (only because I love drummers) but this one...my goodness.

in *23* i think that "echo" you hear is a long delay of Dany, Pau, or both... i mean you hear it but it also has a long delay for that echo effect like that... plus there's a time or two where you can see that Pau sang that part and you can see Dany is not near the mic when the delayed echo appears... you're not the only one to comment about it, either 😹
to be honest, Pau, Ale, and Dany may be the only ones that know the significance of the song's title, *23* ... like many of their songs, they leave things open to interpretation... some have speculated the title is for "2023" while others have thought it references someone's age... i'm not sure because of the lyrics "barely old enough to drink" because at 23yo, one could have been drinking for 2 (21yo) to 5 (18yo) years already... if we look at DPA's ages, Dany is 23, Pau 21, and Ale 18... hummmmm...
maybe this is a Dany song sung by Pau? or maybe it is about something they might have read or seen in a movie or TV show... after all, their song *Amour* comes from a 15 second clip of a scene in the movie "Ratatouille"... that scene has the camera looking through a knot hole in the wooden floor... there are two characters down there having a fight... maybe a lover's quarrel? i don't remember... anyway, they are arguing, they suddenly hug each other, and it is done; end clip... Pau saw that scene, her mind went "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!", and now you know where DPA/TW's *Amour* comes from 😹

The "Echo" is actually a backing track and not actually a delay, in which it was in the studio. BTW, this was the only time they played 23 because Pau said she doesn't like to play it live. 'cause it is too personal to her.

Pau is the reigning 'Queen of the Rock Ballads'!!😍👍👍 *EDIT:* The doll is a 'Dr. Simi' doll that are made by a local Mexican pharmacy. As always, your reaction to TW's performances is very interesting and entertaining.
"QOTMS" is one of the "hardest" of the girls and with "23" Pau takes us to meet our sensitivity, as usual.
Both songs are yet another TW masterpieces.
