Seth's Bike Hacks oh no that was one of my favorites! Is it still on Patreon? If you’re reading this and have no idea what we are talking about, Seth did an incredible video with Nate Hills where he followed Nate off of what looked like a vertical cliff of death.
i have a really difficult time with depression but I come back to this video now and again because it really makes me happy and inspires me. you're both way stronger riders than I am but I love watching phil clear the couch standing on its end and both your reactions. thanks for your channel, it means a lot to me.
I just wish everyone could put their hands on that bike so that they could fully understand how ridiculous it is to attempt these jumps onit.... Thermo Nuclear nose dive for the win!! Not gonna lie, I was worried about that rotation XD
In the greater scheme of things and considering today's supercross BMX tracks, where they are jumping 20 foot gaps on asphalt, this is not the least bit crazy.
RedLine, Mongoose, Stroker, MotoMag.were the tools of the late 1970’s. We converted everything to BMX. We jumped anything we could but the “goosenecks” and early bars couldn’t take the impacts. What you guys do today is amazing. At 53, and still riding, I have to tell you, you guys are a reminder of my youth. Once I jumped a JC Penney frame I added Skyline plastic mags to over a 1970 Chevelle. We didn’t even know what helmets were back then.
As someone who just got back into BMX this was a very welcomed video. Thanks guys for putting the work in and thrashing that bike in such a short window.
Ronald Tartaglia that' a great idea. The vid is just out but I think it's already an iconic picture. The shabby couch and the grey threatening sky. In fact, the location couldn't have been more suiteable.
Whenever Seth and Phil get together, you know it's gonna be good. The tandem bike video was one of my all time favorites. Which begs the question.. When will we see you guys hitting a ramp on a tandem ? Challenge given.
So I’m a bmx RACER and im not gonna lie I cringed a lot but I laughed too so thank you for making me laugh and showing the world how cool new race bikes are!
This id the kind of stuff i wish youtube consisted seth i started watching you when i wanted to go mtb on my walmart bike i watched your videos and then i went i needed a new bike but it was the most fun thing ive done in a while so as a younger person i bought a bmx and i loved it i learned how to bunny hop from your channel now 8 months since my first mtb experience i have a trek marlin 4 i love it and cant wait to see more content
I've been waiting for a video about bmx Racing for sooo long. I'm am a racer my self and I have been racing for almost 10 years and I'm 12 years old but bmx is almost life. To me, so it's pretty cool seeing something about racing on your channel
Awesome video Seth! You create really good material and even folks who are not into tricks (me) or into riding bikes love your videos. Keep the videos coming. Next time jump your truck! lol
Love your videos keep up the good work p.s that’s the fastest I’ve clicked off a gmbn to go to someone else’s but you’re still my favourite TH-camr though
I couldn't even finish watching without commenting...gotta go back for the ending. THERMONUCLEAR NOSEDIVE !!! Holy crap...that is HILARIOUS stuff!! Man, watching you guys do this and giggle like a couple of 13 year olds made my day. SO MUCH GREATNESS in this video. Your lead in metal power chord was PERFECT. Dude...everyone out there makes great videos, but yours just have more sparkle than the rest. That took me back to being kids in the early 80's and doing nutty stuff like this constantly with my brother on my Torker with Ashtabula cranks and Tuff wheels! Worst crash ever was we built a ramp and were jumping a wagon and a ditch. IT WAS DARK, because...hey, what could possibly go wrong with hitting ramps at the end of your driveway in the dark right? I made my first run in and at the last minute bailed to go around...not enough speed. Only problem was, I forgot that the HANDLE of the wagon was extended out in front of it. I hit that and went full torpedo OTB mode right into the ditch and bunged up just about every joint in my body for a week or two...but nothing broken. Sucked having to explain that to my baseball coaches. :-)
Seth another great video. Thanks for make this one. I am 50 year old and have been a cyclist (Mt biker/Roadie) for 31 year and before the I was a BMXer for 6 year. Thank u for showing wear the roots of cycling/Mt biking come from. I started my son on a BMX bike when he was 3 year old and then a Mt bike at 8 and now at 13 he is on the road with me and my wife on the weekend doing easy 18 mile rides. Thank u again. This is my new favorite video. 👍👍🍀🍀 FIREROADIE
You guys sure do take risks. I mean, sitting on that couch at 6:16...that's too dangerous for my taste. 😂 You keep this up, someone's gonna lose an eye. Stay upright and keep the rubber side down. -Brian
After taking 10 years away from mountain biking this is my first season back, and just recently learned of Phil. The guy is a Animal! even sitting on the couch all chill. lol
I ridden dirt jumps for most of my life and really enjoy every of your videos, I love your personal inputs into the topics. For this type of bmx street demonstration you should use a short back 20” street bike. Racing bikes geometry are made for fast speed with long back and 74.5 TT for max stability. Maybe you could make another video about the differences between bikes use for vert, dirt jumping, and street. Thanks.
The race bike looked way different than I expected. But going back to the 20” roots was great, you should do more videos with it, maybe even make diy spots at that abandoned area from the video.
Seth, I would love to see you and or Phil go to more bmx parks and race tracks. The quality of your videos is so much better than most of the guys in that space. Don’t forget your roots. Bmx is cheaper and more accessible than Mtb. Awesome video gentlemen.
So my friend does bmx races and I went with him last night. I joined a race just for fun on my mountain bike. They put me in the advanced class and it was a real challenge. Still alot of fun though
Great video. Phil is a maniac. Looking at the upright couch from his POV cam, I'm thinking, "no way he clears this", then he makes it look easy. Thanks for the great content.
Any high end bike is a couple grand. A set of carbon road bike wheels alone is roughly $3000. If you want a disk wheel (just the back wheel), its usually $3000 to $5000 for just 1 wheel (not counting cassette). To get Shimano Dura Ace or Red groupset is about $1000 as well. A couple grand for a nice BMX like that doesn't seem like too much if you are racing, comparing to road bikes (or mountain bikes). None of them are cheap on the high end.
Jake Garrett I’m aware of that, some bmx racers use disk brakes to get style points, but it doesn’t really play a factor on racing, unless you wanna stop faster. I run box forks, brake cable, and cranks, it’s pretty good.
I think if you are spending that kind of money on a road bike you better be high end pro or your just a poser. I mt bike with a lot of people who ride super expensive bikes and it seems like they spent a lot of money for nothing. I am not into cheap bikes but at a point you are getting very little benefit for your cash flow. Take care
I don't have carbon wheels (I do have optional disk wheels, made out of the finest cereal boxes and hot glue, spray painted with my University's colors in a spiral pattern). But my road bike is a nice bike because I do enjoy biking a lot, and competing in collegiate races (without the disk wheels, that's just for fun setting personal records around the lake).
here on 2022 looking 2 crazy guys building ramps and sending jumps... but with yellow construction helmets because... safety first !!!! awesome.. made my afternoon
Another great installment of “Seth rides with maniacs who goat him into doing scary stuff on two wheels”
Sadly, I had to take the last one with Nate down. As it turns out we were off trail in a few spots.
Seth's Bike Hacks oh no that was one of my favorites! Is it still on Patreon?
