  • Today we're riding the famous Godzilla Jump trail at Vallee Bras Du Nord - Shannahan. This Video is sponsored by Quebec City Mountain Biking - who brought us out to explore five impressive trail networks. One Region Five centers | Our Itinerary ➡️ www.quebecvelo...
    Vallée Bras Du Nord - Or VBN is the first stop on our trip. VBN has two completely different sectors, Shannahan and Saint Raymond. We only got a chance to ride at the Shannahan sector, but that's also where the most iconic trails are. This Sector can also be broken down into 3 different areas - The Gravity Sector, the Enduro Sector, and the Adventure Sector. In this video we're riding the Gravity Sector but I'll have a video from both the Nelson Nord Loop and Legende Trails coming later.
    For Lodging we were put up at the Roquemont hotel in Saint Raymond. They have restaurant, bike shop and everything you need right there, and that's also where the other trail sector is too.

    As someone who’s a decent jumper and constantly rides black and double black tech……. What’s your advice to get the initiative to send big high speed jumps, drops and bigger jumps with steep lips? I believe a tutorial for what I just described would make for an excellent video just see your thought process and how you get comfortable on those types of features.

      Apart from goat skull and a few other breif sections of trail, I find Killington to be very boring to ride. For such a big established resort its a shame they don't put much effort into making good trails.

    • @nathankovach7414
      @nathankovach7414 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SkillsWithPhil that's true, I remember there was an interview with the Loam Ranger and they had ideas to add more black / prolines in the future, but three years later and it's basically the same exact trails :(

    • @SkillsWithPhil
      @SkillsWithPhil  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@nathankovach7414 I don't really see killington ever changing. Their target clientele is families from New York, CT, New Jersey who want to escape the city/suburbs for the weekend. They also have national and state forest lands that they have to navigate around, which doesn't make things any easier. But there's a reason I don't go to Killington much.

    Those are awesome trails. They look pretty hardtail friendly, too.
    I hate the standard single tracks, with dirt only wide enough for your tire, and with brush overgrowth and branches hanging over it. Minimum 36" trail width (1 meter-ish for you metric types) should be the standard. USA needs trails like the ones in this video.

    • @darylj2617

    • @SsmAnyfeSt
      @SsmAnyfeSt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We only saw the same 3 flowy trails...everything else in the Shannahan area is singletrack, more like xc trails. I wouldn't do the Neilson trails on a hardtail lol The singletracks are probably 2-3' large but the trails on this video are wayyy larger! Those are what you would see in a bike park but its only those 3 trails, otherwise it is wayyy different! If you only like those kinda trails, I wouldn't go to Shannahan, which is more like adventure trail bike with some nice rivers, etc.
