    Love HR. I’ve been in the field for the past 16 years. I’ve worked in HR Business Partner roles, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, HR Operations, Manufacturing HR and currently work in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. There’s never a dull day and I feel I’m in purpose which makes it exciting! Great video!

      Companies are trying to operate in a lean fashion. But they’re not realizing how much they’re cramming into a single position. HR Generalist positions can have various titles and responsibilities so always read the job description carefully. Also, research the company to see how they truly operate because you may need to look elsewhere for opportunities especially if the company has high turnover and unethical practices.

    • @HRGirl411
      @HRGirl411  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are so many options out there when it comes to payroll. It would highly depend on whether the organization is global, multistate or strictly a solo location. The most popular options are ADP, Paychex, Paylocity and Paycom. However there are hundreds of others to consider.

      As you begin working in the field; you will start to to find the things you like and dislike about your responsibilities. There are some tasks that will appear boring but rewarding. The main thing is to do the work first. If you decide to take classes first, then you will be able to get a better idea about the direction of your career as well.

  • @Itsmelaura22

    great video! Question whats the role of a hr associate? Is it closely like a generalist?

    • @HRGirl411
      @HRGirl411  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      An HR Generalist is a step above the HR Associate role. An associate is like an entry level professional who has limited knowledge of HR. However, a generalist is someone who is focused on more than one aspect of the HR function. For example, a generalist can be responsible for benefits, payroll and onboarding tasks. Whereas an associate can provide assistance to onboarding new hires.

    In the DEI section, "Sex, Race, Sexual Origin..." I'm confused - what's Sexual Origin? I am new in HR and just want to be sure. I know what sexual orientation is, and national origin but I do not know what was sexual origin is and how it isn't just sex. Sex and Gender are not the same thing, and I get and understand that. I just want to be sure I am encapsulating everyone as I learn.
