    I find that the best setting for cardstock cutting up to 300gsm (110lb) is adhesive backed cardstock and the pressure on more. With this setting I cut couple of thousands of not so simple favor boxes, for instance, before the blade gets dull.

      I do sometimes need to turn the pressure up. So many options! Will need to look into adhesive cardstock..I'm not sure I've used it before 🤔

    Thanks for this great video! I’m trying to do the same concept but strictly with scoring, not cutting (as I want a deckled edge). For some reason it’s not letting me flatten with this. Therefor it continues to cut my font even though it’s printed. Curious if you may know a workaround?

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're so welcome! What about welding the letters together before flattening? Sometimes I have to undo and play around with the design..almost like design space missed something that I had highlighted

  • @apricotpoodles08
    @apricotpoodles08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you do print then cut at a place like Office Depot? Or only to a home printer from design space?

    To speed up the DS/Cricut part of your work place the score line first and than copy frames. If you print and cut more frames at once, place a joint score line over the frames standing next to each other. That way stylus doesn't have to stop and than continue again every time. It makes a difference when you do a lot of the same items. Also, speed up the cutting for simple shapes.

      Great tip!! I'll have to try that next time. More and more of my clients are wanting place cards so I imagine will be making lots more in the future!

    Hi Carly! Thank you for this video! You mentioned another video that explains how to use the weld feature for fonts around 3:30. I was wondering if you could direct me to those videos. Thank you again!

    ❤️ this video! Oh I was wondering what does flatten mean?

    • @CarlyKeller

      TY!! Flatten is basically flattening everything into a single, printable image ❤️

    Thanks so much for making this video!! How does the Cricut know you only want to cut out the box and not the mr/mrs names instead?

      You are so welcome!! Cricut knows to print + cut once the flatten option is selected :)

    Hi Carly. I am having issues with the correct font downloading to my computer. It only is downloading as 'regular farmhouse'. So essentially when I change the font in design space, I still get the boxes :( Any help would be a huge help.

    How does the page fit 4 full size cards? When I use Print and Cut, I can only use a space 9.25 x 6.25. What are you doing differently?

    • @CarlyKeller

      Hi Jackie! These are each 3x4 so they fit within the perimeters :)

    Hi, love your channel.
    I followed your instructions. I copied from font cloud and I paste it in cricut design space but when I search for the font in cricut design place it could not find the font. I was using Handita. How would I fix this?

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kelsey! Thank you so much 😊 after you download the font file open that and install on your computer. Start Cricut Design Space (restart if it was open) and it should be there!

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure there are ways to DIY the score line without the Cricut! I haven't tried myself

  • @libbyseawright5996

    Okay, I'm doing this exact project for my son's wedding, and I started practicing today. I have 65 pound cardstock, and I'm using a laser printer to print the cards. My names don't look as dark and pretty as yours. But I'm having this weird problem where cricut doesn't like some of the names and just slashes through them diagonally and gouging the card next to them, even. I've calibrated my machine, and done them over, and even if that person is on a different place on the mat the next time it will do it, so it's not a positional thing with cricut. It can be in the top row or the bottom row. It always does one person. One time it even cut around the "d" in "damon" and also slashed his name. Did you have any names with farmhouse that were confusing to the cricut? I don't even know what to do now.

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Libby! The last version of Cricut (before the most recent update) would automatically fill in with grey text. So I would have to change all newly added text to black or the color I wanted! Maybe thats happening with yours? I'm not sure whats happening with the font..I use farmhouse for all types of projects! If you are still having trouble with it there are several similar ones that might work better with your software. Check out my "Fonts for Wedding Signs" part 1-3. So sorry your having a frustrating time!

    Thanks for the video! I did a couple runs the same way you did and when the cricut was cutting, it would cut inward (towards the name washes). It only did this for 4 names specifically. All other names were able to cut the card correctly. I redid everything and same thing happened. Has this ever happened to you? Please help!

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome! I'm sorry thats happening! Sometimes my Cricut will glitch and miss a step but if I go back, re-weld and flatten the text before flattening to the paper it will sometimes correct itself.

    Is it possible to show this same DIY but using the markers on the Cricut?

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd need to use a writing font in Cricut Design Space and most of those are very thin, not filled in like this print and cut text!

  • @acbickes6250
    @acbickes6250 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i have done everything you did in your video and my cricut design space keeps telling me to unload my material after it is done scanning. It doesnt score or cut the project! do you know why this is?

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have the correct scoring stylus in and adjusted the settings for that particular one? Since it auto applies the scoring wheel, if it detects the stylus instead will want you to switch the settings and reload. It happens to me 95% of the time!

    Is it possible to add the tails to the letters if you don't have the font cloud and you just purchased the fonts?

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you would need to use some type of font management tool to access them. You can use any fonts in the font cloud though & its free to use!

    What if I need to do black cards with white letters? I get confused in the print part....I have black card stock but how do I do it....so it won't print out black ink in the black card stock!??

    • @CarlyKeller
      @CarlyKeller  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This works best with light colored paper and dark lettering! You could try a white pen and use the writing feature or use white paper and print the black on it
