      @@corollacross5122 thats so arrogance on point... Indonesia is wonderful but to put others down to make your own on top is very sad.😢

      Pinoys are warming to white people only, try to visit them as another asean folks they give you different treatment. Honestly the kindest people in ASEAN are Thais, Indonesians, and Malaysians. I want to say Vietnamese but too many scammers there.

    Really helpful video, thanks! What would you suggest booking the night buses on?

      Thank you!! In Asia using 12go.asia is quite reliable for online bookings, but typically I wait until I’m actually there to book through a travel agency

    these countries are cheap yes, but it is impossibble to do with this amount of money per month
    and the videos does not show like that
    if u are not planning everything ahead of months, the tickets can be really expensive, also living there and so on

    • @adventuringwithclare
      @adventuringwithclare  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it’s actually not impossible to do with that amount of money because that’s what me and several other long term travelers spend per month…. Nothing I’ve said in the video is untrue, I book accommodations and flights last minute very often, and am still able to stay under $1000 usd per month. It IS very possible to travel on that little, you just have to sacrifice some luxuries. I know people who spend even less per month

    To rent a scooter do you require full licence ??

    • @adventuringwithclare
      @adventuringwithclare  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No they do hot require a license actually! But driving in these countries can feel kind of wild if you’re used to driving in western countries, so many places offer lessons as well which I super recommend!

    Hi Clare, can I just ask, but how old were you when you travelled South-East Asia? I'm asking, as I'd like to do the same, however I also want to go to uni, and I need to decide which to do first between travelling or university. I'm 24 years old now, and I'd be 28 years old after university? Any advice would be really appreciated.

    • @adventuringwithclare
      @adventuringwithclare  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!! I ended up going after I graduated from uni, so I was just about to turn 27 when I started traveling full time. However I wish I would have started sooner! Its quite a challenge trying to manage student loan repayments (depending what county you’re from that may not be an issue!) but also after people graduate they tend to get pushed right into a career which makes it hard to travel! So I say the younger the better while you don’t have as many responsibilities!

    Everyday people watching this need to realize now that without an income abroad its basically impossible for the average joe to do. Nobody will say that because they want you to watch their videos so they make an income, so heres y'all's warning since nobody else will

    I am planning to head travel somewhere as a solo 23-year-old student. I have 1-1.5K euros/month to spend. Maybe even 2K. I want to travel comfortably and treat myself to good authentic food, solid hostels, and safe adventures. I am impulsive and like to take a risk. I am not so sure where to go, so what countries would you suggest and for how long? I do not want to plan out too much, but also know a little but what I could expect and how realistic some plans are. I have travelled quite a bit in my life, but always with someone else and never for too long. I am planning to travel for 4-5 months. Any words from you (or someone in the comments who has done similar travels) as advice would be highly appreciated :) @adventuringwithclare

    • @caro4122
      @caro4122 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think with 2k you will last about 2 months, if you plan low budget with some activities and standard hostels

      Hi! Sorry for the delay. I’d recommend really anywhere in Southeast Asia! Thailand and Vietnam I found were the cheapest, with the Philippines and Indonesia slightly higher, and Singapore much higher. Biggest tip I would say to spend less money is travel slow. You can get monthly discounts on accommodation and bike rentals. You may be able to find some weekly deals in some places as well. I really loved Ubud, there is so much to do right around there. I didn’t really book anything super far in advance, so that I could change up my plans if I wanted to!
