This year for the 2nd time in my life will go to Japan as a tourist not a salary man of a multinational in previous life. So looking forward to simple dishes like kappa maki (cucumber roll) and zero soba (chilled noddles) 😊 plus unagi [grilled eel ] and uni {wow sea urchin not eaten for many a year} plus the fruit luscious peaches and strawberries ripe melons. A train ride local not Shinkansen 😊
looks so serene and relaxing and the hotel you stayed at wow an amazing design and so simply elegant. Yes lot of tourists but tranquil. Wow the bath amazing
This is a very interesting room design. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but it certainly has some esthetics to it. But it is also obvious why many people criticized the renovation. It is different from the historic ambience of the Ginzan onsen town. Still nice, calming and soothing though.

That seems to be a boring area, 4 city blocks long....hearing all that flowing water constantly .NAH ...i've seen vlogs where those shops run out of food, are closed, SNAP RIGHT IN UR FACE...theres no place to go and chill, relax, enjoy. Ppl looking miserable...make sure u dont miss ur bus!!!! At least u booked a ryokan, nice but a bit spooky looking place. And that red bridge....played out. Oh thks for bypassing that green water cave and solitary public restroom😂

何故銀山温泉の雰囲気に合わせてデザインしなかったのでしょう。せっかくのあのレトロな雰囲気がなくなっています。隈研吾さんがデザインしたから良い…は、違いますし、隈研吾さんも銀山温泉を理解されてません。残念です。

しかも、銀山温泉最大料金の13万とろうっていうね…。
動画観てても、悪いけど全然いいとこなかったんだけど。
銀山温泉に実際に行くまでは、景観はそれぞれの宿や店が協力し合って保存されているのかと思っていました。
景観維持を考えない経営者が増えれば銀山温泉はいつか破綻するのでしょうね…。

動画は素晴らしいのに批判コメントが多いのは何でだーって思ったら、改装前と違い過ぎるということなのですね。
数年前の日帰り、先月の宿泊共に藤屋が改装された後の銀山温泉しか行ったことがありませんが、確かに改装前の写真を見ると外装も他の旅館の雰囲気に馴染んでいましたが、今はモダン的過ぎる気がしますね。
隈研吾氏、有名建築家と言え…。
改装、高級化路線で名物女将さんは逃げ出して離婚・帰国されたとか…。
泊まったのは能登屋旅館でしたが、個人的には古いままの方が好きです。
藤屋は外装を大きく改装せず内装を綺麗にするとかは無理だったのかなーと思います。
トイレ開けて見せる❓お茶の葉も見せる❓
銀山温泉に行って 泊まりたいとは思いません。
それでしたら 間違いなく能登屋旅館に泊まります。
外国の方で 和室が苦手という方が 泊まるのかなあ？ でも 自分が外人なら 日本情緒たっぷりの方が 心に残るし 土産話になると思うけど。

The design of the guestroom is terrible. Totally not functional. Sink righ on top of the bed and no mirrors at all. For $880/night I'd be pissed off.
