I've been waiting for this video! Thanks for sharing. I love that you got agressive with your sister. My brother and I have almost gotten thrown out of a go-cart track for aggressive driving. Well filmed and nice edit! - Tony
I should mention that a couple of months after the cruise, I was talking to my sister about all the fun we had on the cruise, and she finally admitted to me that she knew exactly what she was doing to me on the go karts. She knew I was right behind her, knew I would want to pass, and did everything she could to make sure I stayed stuck back there!
Hey Jim! Little tips for go kart racing! 1. On tracks like this it’s best to gas all the way down. Gas off slowly and then brake. This helps you turn better. 2. Since the track is so tight its best to go a tiny higher if your in the middle. 3. The last tip is have fun!
Jim, another wonderfully information video- whilst I love that you are showing us first hand all the cool things on the bliss (we are going in 2 weeks, can't wait) I love that your sister was going too slow- I'm taking my sister with me and she'll do the exact same thing

Building such a construction was a great thing to do but very challenging. I hope people enjoy this very much. Even so it took almost a year to finish the steel construction and the set up on the ship i had no possibiliy to try on my own. The steel construction and the "track" on it were build by different companies and so i never was able to drive a round. If i was able to afford such a travel i would absolutely do it just to drive a few times on that track.
I cruise mostly with Disney. Have yet to have a bad experience with them, and their safety and sanitation records are top notch. I’m thinking of maybe trying other cruise lines in the near future, but for now, I’m sticking with Disney
BWI Aviation: My very first cruise was on the Disney Dream. Loved the cruise and the ship was amazing not to mention castaway key. But due to how pricey Disney is, we tried other cruise lines and so glad we did. Norwegian and Royal Caribbean are a lot of fun for half the price of a Disney cruise. Plus, I do like that on the other lines 75% of the ship is for adults with 25% for kids, unlike Disney which is the other way around. I appreciate their adult only areas but I would rather have most of the ship for adults. My first choice for cruising is Norwegian, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Disney is a great cruise line and you just can not beat their service, but you should think about trying other lines.
I know it looks that way in the video, but actually it's a lot of fun when you're driving it. Some of the people in the video weren't going at full speed. These GoKarts are a nice addition to the ship, and people seem to enjoy them. I know I did.
Yeah they are over hated a bit minus the very little room for passing it still is a fun experince unless you dont get caught up in slower traffic if you want to run fast lap times imo
Looks fun. Did you notice if, due to the presence of the go-karts, did the ship seem to have less of something else (less pools, outdoor dining space)? No cruise for us this summer; heading to Crown Paradise Cancun in a few weeks.
Please tell me what you think about this ship in comparison with the Carnival Vista. I will be going on this ship in December. First time going on a ship that’s not Carnival.
I don't think it's the least bit ridiculous, actually. Let's say there was no charge. It would be utterly jammed with people... you'd have to wait in a line for an hour to get a ride. Let's say your cruise costs $2000. Ride the racetrack four times during the week, and your cruise costs $2028. Insignificant, in the big scheme of things.
You are going to love it. We just got back from a cruise on the Norwegian Joy. It's a great ship! Videos about it will start showing up on my channel over the next few weeks.
I had to use the other hand to keep the camera steady. The go-karts don't seem slow when you ride in them. There were a few clips I used in this video where the drivers did not have the pedal to the metal, and were not driving at the full potential speed the go-karts are capable of. Quite a few people have left comments on this video saying that the go-karts are too slow... but these are all people who have not actually driven the go-karts... only watched a video about them. There was never a point when I was driving the go-karts where I thought to myself that they were just too slow. No, on the contrary, I enjoyed my go-kart rides quite a bit... and I'm looking forward to cruising on the Norwegian Joy a few weeks from now (a sister ship to the Norwegian Bliss, shown in this video) and riding the go-karts on that ship.
They wouldn't let me mount my GoPro on the helmet or on the GoKart. The only way they would allow me to use a GoPro on the GoKart ride was to use a chest mount. However, the vibration of the GoKart caused the GoPro mounted to my chest to bounce up and down, which made my the video look horrible in my first attempt. So, to get good video, I took another run through the GoKart track and stabilized the chest mounted GoPro with one hand and steered with the other. That's why I was awkwardly steering in this video. If I had not been shooting video, I would have steered with two hands like a normal person.
Men they look slow, i know these karts and I know they can go way faster than that, i would bump the speed half more at least. Though i understand the fact it is on a cruise lol
JS1 how long do think go karting has been around. Long before you were an itch in your daddy's pants. Young punks don't know shit because ya'll think you invented shit that has been around for ages. smh
I wouldn't call 30mph slow people! It's a cruise ship. Enjoy it for what it's worth! Question.....how easy are they to get out of? I have a knee that doesn't love being bent in certain ways. Thanks!
They are actually very awkward and tricky to get in and out of. People with mobility issues or who are seriously overweight should probably skip this ride.
I'm not sure what it is now. I was onboard for one of the first cruises. During the first couple of months they experimented with different prices to try to find the right one. I don't know what they finally settled on. I do remember reading that they started also offering an unlimited pass for people that anticipate wanting to ride it a lot. I don't know what the pass costs either. Sorry!

Fun idea, looks slightly slow though
I know that it looks that way in the video, but I assure you that when you are actually driving one it seems fast and very fun!
Thanks for the great informative video & I look forward to more NCL Bliss videos!!
Looks fun it looks like they can go a little faster then people are driving them. Lol
So this is the Monaco Grand Prix on a cruise ship with cars that are super slow, oi Norwegian, maybe trying give them a little bit more speed yeah?
There are literally ten-year-old kids driving. The last thing the cruise line should do is make the cars faster! They would have all sorts of trouble.

Your voice would be perfect for tv doing nascar broadcasting or golf or something you have the perfect voice for that
Great video. I love cruise ships and this is definitely one I am looking forward to going on.
I thought the bumper cars on the anthem were cool, this has to be the greatest feature, which wont be top for years to come. God Bless.
There is no boring in first place, lol. God Bless.
The one thing that might actually convince me to try Norwegian. Thanks for sharing!

I cruise mostly with Disney. Have yet to have a bad experience with them, and their safety and sanitation records are top notch. I’m thinking of maybe trying other cruise lines in the near future, but for now, I’m sticking with Disney

Excellent video Jim. But then again, all your videos are excellent
This guy is a one hand driving legend!!
Thanks for the on board footage! These carts seem like they are way slower than ones fouund locally. How fast were you able to go?
I'm afraid that I don't know!
I've never been on a go-kart track on land, so I can't compare them. But it was a lot of fun!
Jim Zimmerlin glad you had fun! Keep these cruise videos coming. It helps me with my cruising addiction in between cruises.
Awesome and funny video. Thank you. I’ll try not to be ‘that girl’ haha but I’m way too competitive for that :) I’m coming for y’all June 16 :)
This is excellent idea, but what will be more brillant is have an indoor go kart in case it rains outside, especially of it gets dark out. God Bless.
Cool idea but it looks like you only move 5 mph :(

The ship seemed like it had everything needed for fun. In 15 days, I was never bored!

They need to put this in GTA or turn it into a call of duty map

I loved Norwegian Bliss. I think it's one of the best cruise ships of all. Take a look at my full review at www.jimzim.net/NorwegianBliss.html
Wish RCL Oasis Class would add go karts
NCL is giving RCL a run for their money. It's about time.
1. Get drunk
2. Do this.
On Norwegian Cruise Line, it's very easy and inexpensive to get the unlimited beverage package... so, that would be easy to do!
better leave that track open for me and my hubby, lmaoooo
i heard they are charging $7 to ride this, utter ridiculous

I see your numbers but this isnt cedar point amusement park with 30,000 passengers
I agree with Jim. I think that is a very fair price. And I feel 10 minutes is also a good time.

Hmm
Be glad it's $7 and not $20
Should be just fast enough where wrong turn and you go overboard
I would spend all my time on this....the real fun begins when you hit some rough seas.
Totally cool , and worth the price..
My husband actually raced, when he was young.. He would have loved this fun track..
Amazing commentary. Soothing voice. !!!!
Very fun, when i try for the first time when opening in NCL joy&NCL bliss
Thanks for the info for the price for the Go Carts.

ridiculous, this isnt an amusement park with 20,000 folks but i wanna ride so guess ill pay $7 after i've given them $1500.00.
