Is anyone else concerned that newer cruise ships are moving more towards having less free activities and using more and more space for paid extras? What makes cruising so unique is the value of how much is included. But if you get onboard and the only free activities are the pool and the shows (assuming they don't start charging for tickets) then you might as well take a flight somewhere and stay at a cheaper hotel and go explore otherwise you might find yourself paying thousands of dollars for a small room with a not so comfortable bed an always crowded pool and some half decent food... Buyer beware...
Agreed. I booked my first ever cruise a few days ago and what sold me was that food, shows, my room, non-alcoholic drinks, most on board activities except bingo and alcohol tastings and the spa are free. I'm on a smaller, less newer ship and am more than happy with that for the value I'm getting.
Royal has more free activities but expensive drink package, NCL has a cheaper drink package and to pay activities. Ive done 6-7 cruises to compare both cruise line. If I wanna party, NCL cruise is my go to, if I wanna relive my childhood, Royal Caribbean is my go to

@@aristotel3s808 I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean and I love Carnival, I've been on 11 cruises 9 with Carnival and I'm boarding the Carnival Mardi Gras tomorrow for my 10th Carnival Cruise and they too have a ton of free activities and they have the most free food options of any cruise line, I want to try NCL but you should try Carnival, I think you'll enjoy it 👍
Rodrigo is awesome. I met him on the Norwegian Pearl October 2019, my last vacation. Tell him Kathy in China says hi. He often would sing karaoke with me. My older Brother had bought 4 tickets , then got into an arguement with his then Girlfriend and they refused to go to the show with each other. Lol Their loss was my gain at age 17. . What a show. Harlem Globe Trotters--Awesome! Nobody can beat them! Donna Summers, I really like her, got to see her live at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. Everyboby there was up on their feet and dancing and when there is dancing, I am there! The go-carts look like so much fun. I'd race to race with you and you might be surprised, I just might be number 1!
The darts are interactive, not just youre average game of darts. They have certain types of games you play and automatically count scores etc. They have places called flight club where prices are similar so not actually too bad on a cruise, if its able to be split between a party

Depending on the Dart Hall there can be a cover charge or minimum drink purchase, so $40 is not a bad charge. There are currently about 12 different games that can be played with either two people or two teams. The Bull’s Eye is noted as an elevated twist on the classic game of darts featuring a video tracking system that automatically calculates each players score and offers instant game replays, this is all I could find as a description of it.

Between eating,walking the entire ship, shopping, and talking to others while having a drink and a cigar, we found ourselves pretty busy without extras. The Casino Staff are top rate and super attentive. The Local is great. Quick drink service on deck. Indulge Food Hall is epic! We are going again on Prima in March 2024.
I would love to be on that ship. Im sure most of the cool activities aren't accessible but I enjoy watching others participate. The VR, although I have yet to try it, seems really cool.

One of the very first concerts I went to was as a teenager was Donna Summers live in Atlantic City. That Womans voice was amazing!!! It will be hard for anyone to cooy that voice , but I look forward to seeing the show on Prima. I dont go on cruises for Go-Karts, Water Slides, virtual reality games, riding in a vehicle shaking on a deck. If I want that type of vacation Ill go to Disney World. Don't get me wrong for people that enjoy these things its fine. Maybe when I take my Grandchilden Ill feel diffrently. Thank you again for the video.
That's something good that in Seattle did was leaving the food out for the stragglers to come and get something to eat while they get ready for the lunch menu and it cuts down on food waste cuz they would just throw it out if they did not have it out there for people to eat
Looks like a ton of cool things to do on board but it's certainly going to mount up before you realise it, especially if you keep wanting to go back on the daily. I understand that the cruise line wants to make it's money back, for all these cool gadgets but damn, couldn't they just charge a certain prices for a ticket to give you two/ three hours going on anything you want in the place, instead of each item costing $15 for one thing up to $40 it's so confusing and definitely going to be expensive for those with kids and husband's alike 😂. I would probably go broke in know time myself because we're all children at heart when it comes to games like that. 😉
Just been on the Encore which was great, the go karts were fun but not quick never need the brakes, my only complaint would be that with all the space for go karts and laser tag taking the back third then the vibe and haven on the front third you are left with a quite restricted area for the pool deck. We ended up paying for the vibe as finding six beds together wasn't always possible.

I booked the Joy and was looking forward these rides, now I'm told it's going into dry dock for renovations in Jan and they are changing that area into an extension of the spa😢
NcL ships are beautiful but they nickel and dime you for alot of the activities on board. $40, dollars for darts is outrageous! Also mini golf should be free. This is why I sail Royal 90 % of their activities are free and included in the cruise fare. Like bumper cars. Dry slides and mini golf. Zip lines, flow rider , bungee jumping. Rock climbing walls, ice skating. Just to name a few. When I go on a cruise I want everything included in the fare except for speciality dining. NCL needs to stop charging for alot if that stuff. The race cars should be about $10 for 15 minutes.
Cruising Jay tell me if I'm wrong. I know how much the cabins with balconies cost from my Cruising Cousin but then it seems that almost everything you might want to do costs extra. I dropped when my Cousin told me how much it cost per person for a balcony cabin on the Royal Caribbeans which she normally goes on. I think after paying so much for a balcony cabin everything should be free. Have fun and see ya later.

Nice job 👍. Not a fan of people shooting people even if it is a game. They tried it on the Orlando eye and it got a lot of objections. And they are not doing it now. Let’s stick to video games.

I freally your enthusiasm! This is truly not our granparent parents' and grandmothers' cruise any more! (All my grandparents were avid cruisers, but for them the highlight was their bridge came (after the awesome excursions)! I would like to have a go with that boxing game! I have to admit that the room scares me (claustrophobia!) but I know that most people will realliy have fun with it!
Personally, I like the 10-15 minute videos as opposed to an hour long recap. Just my 5 cents. (I can't give you my two cents because we don't use pennies, in Canada, any more.
I avidly watch your channel. however, these last few i can not watch. You see, i will be on board in a few days and i don't want to see the ship thru your eyes. i want to experience the ship on my own. We are doing a back to back and will end it in New York, with the last leg (Southampton to New York ) in the Haven. Rest assured that I will continue to watch your channel after i return. There's probably an age limit on the darks. It can be a dangerous game if not played properly. Also, a little hard to play if your to short to throw the darts. Most Dart Halls have an age limit, most serve alcohol too.

When we sailed Prima in October, the golf and everything was free. It may depend on cabin type,on second thought.

I understand that the cruise line wants to make it's money back, for all these cool gadgets but damn, couldn't they just charge a certain prices for a ticket to give you two/ three hours going on anything you want in the place, instead of each item costing $15 for one thing up to $40 it's so confusing and definitely going to be expensive for those with kids and husband's alike 😂. I would probably go broke in know time myself because we're all children at heart when it comes to games like that. 😉
Just been on the Encore which was great, the go karts were fun but not quick never need the brakes, my only complaint would be that with all the space for go karts and laser tag taking the back third then the vibe and haven on the front third you are left with a quite restricted area for the pool deck. We ended up paying for the vibe as finding six beds together wasn't always possible.
My wife really enjoy the VR on the Carnival ships. She tried it once and now it takes me FOREVER to get her out of the game room.

It is just the kind that shows thing alone the line of a roller coaster. It was on our last cruise on the Legend.

I booked the Joy and was looking forward these rides, now I'm told it's going into dry dock for renovations in Jan and they are changing that area into an extension of the spa😢
NcL ships are beautiful but they nickel and dime you for alot of the activities on board. $40, dollars for darts is outrageous! Also mini golf should be free. This is why I sail Royal 90 % of their activities are free and included in the cruise fare. Like bumper cars. Dry slides and mini golf. Zip lines, flow rider , bungee jumping. Rock climbing walls, ice skating. Just to name a few. When I go on a cruise I want everything included in the fare except for speciality dining. NCL needs to stop charging for alot if that stuff. The race cars should be about $10 for 15 minutes.

Cruising Jay tell me if I'm wrong. I know how much the cabins with balconies cost from my Cruising Cousin but then it seems that almost everything you might want to do costs extra. I dropped when my Cousin told me how much it cost per person for a balcony cabin on the Royal Caribbeans which she normally goes on. I think after paying so much for a balcony cabin everything should be free. Have fun and see ya later.

Nice job 👍. Not a fan of people shooting people even if it is a game. They tried it on the Orlando eye and it got a lot of objections. And they are not doing it now. Let’s stick to video games.

I freally your enthusiasm! This is truly not our granparent parents' and grandmothers' cruise any more! (All my grandparents were avid cruisers, but for them the highlight was their bridge came (after the awesome excursions)! I would like to have a go with that boxing game! I have to admit that the room scares me (claustrophobia!) but I know that most people will realliy have fun with it!

You see, i will be on board in a few days and i don't want to see the ship thru your eyes. i want to experience the ship on my own. How fast was the go-karts? I heard fastest before was Encore @ 30 mph. But that Prima is up to 50 mph? Is this true?

There's probably an age limit on the darks. It can be a dangerous game if not played properly. Also, a little hard to play if your to short to throw the darts. Most Dart Halls have an age limit, most serve alcohol too.
