Scooter has actually copied the Dutch music style of the 90s that literally took over the world. Not the other way around :) It is so nice to see that Joost is doing his Eurovision entry in his own 100% native Dutch mucis style without any compromises. This music is SO DUTCH!!!!

Watch the preparty in Sweden, then one with the part he jumps of stage and he is dancing on the bar. Thats JOOST 🎉. I was a bit surprised, the video, its not festival master Joost. It's Kind of funny but the lyrics are very Serious
😅 you should ; Watch Joost lowlands 2023. His creativiteit with the team is Epic. It's one of the biggest festivals Of The Year
The First song immediately is so rude I can't say the words on TH-cam you will have to watch It😂 But The build up to the song is again a masterpiece so I will Expect Sweden To Be An explosion and Mind Blowing
Joost Wrote this song especially far his father Who was a huge fan of Eurovision and He has been talking about this for years that One day you will be on the stage representing the Netherlands
And watch Florida 2009, englisch subs,
Its about the Dying of his parents in the same Year , he was 12 and 13.
The outro is based on that song. Even If You Don't get the words The Emotions of the huge Crowd Tears Of All The People The Hearts Made with hands iets how much People Here Love Joost❤

Yes/no, scooter simply joined and was after that absolutely part of the movement in the 90s that made it big. cannot imagine the german loveparade in the 90s without him. Iconic. Joost recognises that. Even then there is also a large underground movement under that.

This song has a deeper meaning. 'Papa' is translated 'dad' in dutch. Joost lost his dad to cancer when he was 12 and his mom a year later because of a cardiac arrest. When he was younger he watched the Eurovision with his parents and said “I’m gonna sing at Eurovision one day”. Joost sings that no matter where he goes or what he eats, he can not escape the pain of this loss. In the end he says goodbye to the pain of his loss by burning the photo, without losing the memory. This song is also an ode to Europe. His dad told him that it’s a world without borders, because borders are invented by humans. And that you can create your own world. The dance break is gabber music - a music style that was invented in the Netherlands, and the sub genre is called happy hardcore. Bringing a personal loss, the feeling of Europe and the dutch culture together; that is art.
The lyrics have a lot of layers:
    Europe let’s come together!
    It’s now or never!
    I love you all!
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Visit my friends in France
Or take a long walk to Vienna
I want to leave the Netherlands
    But my passport is gone
    Fortunately don't need a visa
    To be with you
So take the bus to Poland
    Or the train to Berlin
I have no money for Paris
    So use my imagination
Do you have a euro please
    Say "merci" and "please"
    I lost everything
    Except time
    So am travelling every day
    For the world is mine
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
    Eu-ro-pa!
    Ich bin in Deutschland
    Aber Ich bin so allein
    Io sono in Italia
    but still I feel pain
    Am running from myself
Calling for "help!" all day long
Yes I even give people money
But there is no one to help me
    I don't need es-car-gots
    Don't need fish 'n chips
    Don't need paella, no
I don't even really know what that is
    Turn on the radio
    I hear Stromae with "Papaoutai"
    Won't stop until they say
"Yes, yes, he does that very well ey!"
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Welcome to Europe
    Stay here until I die
    Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa
    Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
    Eu-ro-pa!
    Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa….
    Welcome in Europe boy!
At the end of the day
    We are all human beings
    My father once told me
    It's a world without borders
    I miss you every day
    Is what I secretly whisper
    You see dad
    I listened to you
    Is what I secretly whisper
    You see dad
    I listened to you

Mean deeping like others country..jury probably can't vote for him when you have strong singer and better vocal and what singing and popular in Dutch...still he goes around with Kaaria for vote….it is not bad have promotion but what he doing is so discussing

    • @vanyalandos
      @vanyalandos 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@dragonblossom-qw2pl Personally, I would see a chance with a jury. Although the jury prefers high vocals, but in this song we hear the typical Netherlands (national language, musical style) Which for me are also two reasons to approach the jury. The song has a dance mood that has a deep meaning. Joost is a very well known artist in Belgium, but also in Germany (so I hope the voices don't disappoint here) As Joost said, he loves marketing and I have to admit that it works incredibly well. The hype when his song came out was unreal. Fun fact, he sang the first live performance of Europap at his concert where he "banned" any video footage (so fans could enjoy that first moment)
About Käärijä, they are friends. They were having fun before he was chosen to represent the Netherlands. Käärijä himself supports him.
I believe he will put on an amazing show in Malmö.

Great reaction! Do check it out again with subtitles or the lyrics to discover the hidden layers in the song. Fun facts: the people at the "last meal' dinner table are Rene Froger (Eurovision contestant for the Netherlands 2009), S10 (participant 2023), Donnie (dutch rapper) and Emma Wortelboer (who went hysterical after/during Duncan Laurence won for the NL and who gave our points). The guy in the car is DJ Paul Elstak, founder of happy hardcore (Rainbow in the sky) and who also worked on this song. The reference to Stromae is that the song Papaoutai (spelling?) is about missing his father and Joost also misses his father as he died of cancer when Joost was 12 years old.

    Your country is crazy beautiful!!!
    I think I'm in love 🥰
It's so different from the Netherlands. We basically live on Scandinavian boulderclay brought by ancient glaciers. It's a swamp that needs crazy drainage to be livable, and we're slowly drowning 😂
But our language and culture are fairly similar, which isn't surprising because many of us are ethnically Scandinavian.
I enjoyed your reaction video very much.

If you search the personal history of Joost and then put this song and video together, with his story, you will find and understand all the layers:
    - both his parents died in the '90's ( the age of the hardcore etc)
    - he was just a child when that happened ( in an interview about this song and clip he told to never want to loose his inner child, that makes it funny, maybe weird for a lot)
    - his father said the world is without boundaries, but people create boundaries, so you can create the world
    - when he was young, every year he watched the eurovision song festival with his parents and shared his dream with his parents. Which was to also wanted to be there on stage, performing and representing the Netherlands
    - still every where he goes ( in Europe) it doesn't take away the loss and pain
    - the sudden end: from happy hardcore, dancing, smiling, hard!! To....a really abrupt silence, burning his fundament, his family, his house, his home and where he comes from....i think this represents how it was for him to suddenly loose his father...and a year later his mother...from partying and no worries at all....to : wtf...what is happening...a total silence...disbelief and destruction

This song is about Joost's father, whom he lost at age 12 due to cancer. A year later, when he was 13, his mom died of a heart attack. As a child Joost used to watch Eurovision Song Contest with his parents, to whom he said that one day he would be on the show. His father told him that the world is open and at his feet. That is why, in the end he says: "Dad, every day I silently whisper that I still miss you. But I want you to know, that I listened to you." (i.e. by traveling Europe)

Why don't you turn on those subtitles.
It is included in all languages.
Because you are not familiar with the language, you miss the entire essence of this song.
And because of this alone, the non-English songs often lose a lot of points. While they all say that more action should be taken in their own language and culture.
If you turn on subtitles, we give non-English performing groups a fairer chance compared to all those English-speaking groups.
This Song is not only a work of art musically, but also a work of art lyrically.
Showing an entire life with all its wishes and sorrows in three minutes, ultimately ending in a conclusion in which he ends the same past and present by burning it all for a new beginning.
But unfortunately, because of that, this Song will end up with the jury members who have no knowledge of art and forget to include the translation.
