    I came across this generator a few days ago and was really impressed, but haven't played with it much yet. I was surprised when you mentioned that names are generated according to the culture. When I was looking at a few maps, it seemed to me that they were all completely random, or generated by someone banging their head on the keyboard.

    Hey, i was wondering if there is an easy way to add/remove specific relief icons. - I only want mountains, not the tens of thousands of other items it spawns cause it will take an age to manually remove them even with the brush delete because the number of them turns it into a slide show.

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best option is to the use the paintbrush icon on max settings to delete all other icons. I would recommend turning off all layers except for relief to minimize the lag. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a better way.

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you're not getting any land to generate? It is random generation so everyone's maps are gonna look different in shape. There's also plenty of styles under the "options" tab which might make your map appear visually different. It's hard to say, let me know if any of that helps or not.

    Is it possible to give the borders of the landmass and randomize the height map keeping the coast lines?

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no straightforward way to do this but I have some ideas:
      First is to use the templates editor, which takes a bit of technical know-how but may be more accurate to true randomization.
      Second is to paint the outline of your heightmap the normal way and then use the disrupt brush along the interior.
      Third is to use the Taklamakan heightmap preset and then carve your coastline into it.

    do you know if the names that it generates are random names or related to d&d or somthing like tht. i love some of the names and wanna use it for my story but scared that its used in other things.

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The names are generated from Namebases (which you can find under Tools section). They work by taking in input and combining inputted words together to form new ones. So you are free to use all the names you see, even the ones from my videos lol.
      Most of these namebases are historically based, (some are based on the classic fantasy species like Elves, goblins, etc.) The inputs are real names of cities and locations, but they generate completely new and original names from them. For example, the Greek namebase has Macedon and Antioch, and but you'll see on a generated map a name like "Antidon".
      Only thing of note is that I have seen the same names generated before. For example the generator really likes the name "Inzburg" somewhere when using the German namebase. Still, you are perfectly free to use all the names given to you. Apologies for the delay in response!

    is there an eazy way for a state to annex another state without having to redraw the Provinces?

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no direct feature other than state painting. What I normally do is paint over one state entirely with another (excluding the Capital because it won't let you) and then deleting the annexed state. Provinces should be kept in tact and even transferred to another color. The only change you'll need to make is with the former state's Capital Cell.

  • @lujoviste

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Provinces are mostly determined by how many you set in Options, size of a state, and how many burgs it has. It may also be influenced by the government type, populations, or culture?
      Regarding the naming, the generator automatically chooses which form to fit the space for the state. Every state has a long name and short name which you can edit via the States editor. If a state is smaller, it will more likely use the short-form name, but you can edit what it uses and override this.

      Have you tried placing it anywhere on your map? There can sometimes be limitations, such as you cannot place a new country in the same cell as another country's capital, and you cannot place a country where there is no culture or population present.

    • @IsBepis

      That one's still a bit of a mystery. Definitely has something to do with your browser version and browser ram. I've started using Opera because I can mitigate ram directly and it seems to have helped a little bit. Lag might also be attributed to which layers you have turned on (at the moment, relief icons and labels tend to generate the most lag). Try using more cells with no layers on and see the threshold you can handle.
      Part of it is also just having to put up with some of the lag unfortunately.

      From the menu go to Tools and then "States" near the top. From there, click the colored boxes next to each state and you can customize the colors!

    Why does it lag if i generate on my phone? Also on my pc it lags

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certain features like points number, relief icons, and certain styles will all generate considerable lag. Also, I do not believe this generator was designed with mobile in mind, would not recommend using your phone

    Can you export this to unreal engine or unity?

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it is technically feasible using the GeoJSON data export. I saw a user import their entire map into Unreal a while ago. It will take a good bit of adjustment and work on the Unreal / Unity side of things, however. It's not exactly my area of expertise unfortunately. If you're looking for help I recommend asking around in the Discord

    I know I late but how do I load a map I saved to my iPhone, I tried but it doesn’t work 😢😢😢

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately I don't know much about the mobile version. I know it is not recommended to use. However, you could try checking your phone's interior files to find the .map file that was saved. If you saved to browser, then it relies on your browser memory which may behave differently on iPhone

    Why is it so laggy?(for me). Btw great video

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certain things like Relief Features, Points Number, and some style configurations will lag the program. If it still lags on 10k points and Relief off, it could be browser-related

    • @matthewparker9276
      @matthewparker9276 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The program does run on your browser, and will use a fair bit of memory and CPU resources. If it's laggy, it may be because it is exceeding memory allocation for the browser.

    • @IsBepis
      @IsBepis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It could be the layers, relief and labels (when there are a lot) can generate a lot of lag. Also try different browsers. Chrome can tend to suck at its ram allocation. If it still persists, try asking in the discord

      @@RayedShahin Lmao it's interesting to me that you share a rather unique name with the creator. Basically a guy who also goes by Azgaar made a program which randomly generated fantasy world maps which you can edit however you want. I just made a tutorial on this software, I have nothing to do with the creation of the thing.
