Wow, that is some cold I'm glad you got to keep a few Redwoods when it gets cold and the wind howls; bundle up well and watch us it's always above freezing here. I see why you love it the white snow on the Trees against the Blue Sky is beautiful.
Thanks Patricia! I am jealous of your warm down there!! LOL The snow is beautiful though. Have to appreciate it for what it is. Take joy from the things around us, no matter where we are.☺
This morning is definitely a tea type of morning here too. -27C/-17F with the windchill, feels like -41C/-42F. It has warmed up to -16C/3F 2pm as I type this. We need some true winter cold. It hasn't stayed cold long enough to kill the hibernating bugs. I haven't been able to go hiking in a couple years. Hopefully this Feb. 2 or 3 weeks of good cold.
We have a generator that can power the fridges, freezers, or a room heater and aquariums etc. In the main building. Just not the well pump or things that are hard wired to the panel. I have a small generator for camping that could handle the heater for the trees, but it was stored in the camper and I was not able to get to it. I have since taken preventative measures to stop that door from freezing closed. I wasn't super worried. It has been very mild this winter so far.
Nice to get some repotting in. Root system looks good and the bigger pot will help to get these off to a good start.
Good idea to pile the snow around the trailer. That will keep the temperature steady at 32F/0C.

Stay warm
We have a temperature this morning of 15F/-9.4C with a windchill of 2F/-16.7C. Definitely an evening cup of tea is in order.

You might need a back up generator in case the power goes out so that you do not freeze. At least the wood stove gave you some heat.

You have a winter wonderland. Any chestnuts roasting on an open fire for you? Did you ever find any sapsicles?
No sapsicles. I completely forgot to go look after the wind storms!
@@FrostBiteBonsai Still time. Winter still here. Maybe next time you go for a walk.
What about a fan to circulate the air in the trailer to distribute the heat? Just a thought.
I don't want to run a second extension cord. That's why I'm looking at solar or wind options.
