The song is actually a Visayan lullaby... but during the Japanese occupation there was a dark story the actual translation was "Little one, little one, sleep now Your mother is not here, She went to buy some bread Little one, little one, sleep now." bread is so rare in the Philippines in that context its impossible for the mother to gind and buy one metaphorically that time that signifies that the mother will not comming back home because she was taken by the Japanese to be their salaves or sex slaves that is why there are comfort women. And it was said that the mother died singing that song for her baby longing for the baby.. That is why some Filipinos where scared when they here the song cause it was like a song singing by a vengeful spirit of a mother that was taken away from her baby...

There's nothing she can teach that you couldn't learn on your own. Singing is like talking. Babies have to learn to talk because they don't inherently know where in their mouths each sound is made, and don't know how to transition from one to the other. But they learn by listening to others talk, and by imitating them. Singing is similar. Your brain does not inherently know how to produce any pitch, how to transition between them, and how to efficiently use the volume of air in your lungs. A few tips Get comfy with annoying your neighbors. High notes need more air than you think they do. That doesn't mean you have to yell, but you do have to push air through on purpose, you can't just be exhaling like you do when you breathe normally. I do find them easier the louder I get tho. Also, open your mouth. For real. If I can't see your tonsils you are shooting yourself in the foot. Watch Freddie Mercury sing on stage and do that. He's cheating cos he had 4 extra teeth and more space in his mouth for notes to resonate than you do, but you'll get by. Pay attention to how it feels. Record yourself. You'll get used to the way your voice sounds. If you can, stand up. It's easier. Air should feel like it's coming from the bottom of your ribcage when you are trying to use your chest voice. I was so confused why I couldn’t hear it in tagalog but then I realized its another language from the philippines
Its an official Filipino Language called Hiligaynon. Hiligaynon is not just a mere dialect but its a language
@@pwat6311 ah ok thank you also why isn’t it just considered a dialect but it’s a language?? I thought cebuano, ilonggo like that they’re dialects and Filipino is the umbrella language?
@@R1l3y_129 hello! dialects are the different variations of a language (ie. manila tagalog, batangas tagalog etc.). bisaya, ilonggo, and others like waray, ilokano, bikolano, and pangasinense are their own languages
"She went to buy some *bread* " it's like the mother version of your father "he went to get some *milk* "
Darn it you beat me to it.
you are actually right. This song is about taking care of somebody's kid after they died.
It’s a lulluby. If you sang a lulluby from another country in the same location and in the same style, you would still scare a lot of people.
I'm Filipino, but this lullaby has always given me the heebie jeebies. 😭 I had to stop midway. There's a creature well-known in Filipino lore that scares me the most, and lullabies remind me of that. There are scary movies Filipino millennials grew up with that focused on this creature, and they just cultivated that phobia for me.
I'm a Filipino and your voice is amazing !! this song reminded me of my grandma singing this song to me when I was a toddler, it's very sad that I cannot meet her again I really love this lullaby !! It's heavenly !! 💗💗
It's so beautiful and scary at the same time😁❤️
So true. ♥️
yeah the song is about the white lady of balete drive which is actually a true happening... if you see a woman wearing white you need to stop for her people in philippines only take Balete drive in the morning and avoid it at night the woman haunts the entire road
ID RUN SO FAST HEARING THIS LOLLL
That's a sweet lullaby, please don't make it what it's not.
As a Filipino I love this song it's beautiful and so wholesome 😭😭
Remember how my mother sing this to lullaby to make us sleep when we're li'l.It made me cry😥😥😥.(only Ilonggos can understand this song)
This is a Filipino lullaby that lulled to sleep millions of babies. Not at all creepy/scary. Unless you want it to be so. It is also obvious she doesn't understand what she is singing. ❤❤❤🕊️🇵🇭
Hauntingly beautiful
