I ran my first marathon in the SB 1. I couldn't be happier. The awesome thing was I recovered so much faster post marathon. I was ready to back to running about 3 days later.
Glad you liked them Neil. Perfect long run and mara prep shoe. Don't forget they are higher stack height wise (than NB racers). Lightest super trainers going around. Give them 300Ks, you'll be in love 🫶
@@runwithwoody We've got 150 pairs of PARIS SB2's arriving this week...and about 35 pairs remaining SB1 - Threads & Treads, Greenwich, CT - Online store is open - We ship nationwide
I haven’t quite gelled with the shoe myself. Finding it clunky. I am running quick in it on easy runs, but it’s not enjoyable for me. I like the squishy and softness when I’m training tempo - easy pace. But then i tried this shoe for threshold pace, and found the sb2 not enjoyable for that too, so its sort of an awkward in between shoe for me. Yeah you can do a bunch in it, but it isn’t that great for anything. It’s an all round shoe in that it’s pretty good at most jobs.
Hey mate, pretty much agree with everything you say. But I have found this shoe gets better the more Ks you put into it. I probably wouldn't use it for speed sessions, but definitely good for those tempo runs. I'm loving it as my long run shoe. I've got a 200k update dropping tomorrow. 👍
Wow there was some impressive times run at that event. Did you feel it was fast and flat? My Age group of 40-44 a lot of runners in the 2.10-2.20 mark bloody crazy
There was a headwind for the last few km that felt tougher than the hills, probably because you're still fresh for the hills. I managed a good PB and came 9th in the 40-44 mens catagory, super stoked.
Ran Stockholm marathon in VF3, ruined feet after 26-28K. Ran a new marathon 20 days later, much more hilly, in almost new NB4, no problems, 12 min faster. Ran 90K the week after. Then I was very Lucky to grab a pair of SB2 on launchday, early July. Liking them instantly. Then after attending a 3 hour Springsteen concert in Bergen, while pouring down 33mm/13 inches, my shape have been tumbling down a drain. So at the Drammen 1/2 marathon where I ran a PB (1:30:05) last year (in Endorphin speed 3 Runshield❤) 2 days ago, I choose to be kind with my feet, aiming for a 1:35, wearing my SB2 Paris edition. Just like you, I got tired but managed 1:35:xx, and a few hours later my feet felt good as new, doing a 6K cooldown with ease. And yesterday and today I've been doing recoveries and strides, not having any soreness or difficulties, so yes, these shoes deserve the hype and the price!
There's no doubt shoes make an enormous difference on recovery. The midsoles are just so damn good now that they really take a bit of the stress out of the legs. Sounds like you are running pretty well. Keep up the good work. 👍
I think the stack height is above legal standard set by World Athletics, but really only affects those runners at the pointy end of races/age categories etc. I'm sure thousands of runners have used illegal shoes in races. 👍

Great to hear, mate. They are definitely a bit kinder on the legs than some carbon plated shoes. 👍
Good one Woody!
Thanks mate 👍
Go woody love ya channel mate keep em coming ya ledgend 👍👍👍
Cheers mate, appreciate your support 👍

Thanks Bartek, already enjoying them after about 80k. I actually don't mind the extra stack height. 👍
Loved the superblast one. Blast 2 is always sold out in my size. Got them on preorder finally.
I missed v1, tried for months to get a pair and finally gave up. Enjoying the 2s. 👍

Do you recon you could use them at easier paces? ( For me thats 5:45 to around 6:30 per k)
Absolutely. A great shoe for those easier paces, but one that you can pick up the pace in as well.👍

It's a great course. I ran 85 minutes 2 years ago. Once you get the Hills out of the way, it's pretty much flat. 👍

So how much time advantage do these shoes give you vs. running in a regular trainer in a half marathon?
Really gets down to the individual. For me, I would say marginal. 👍
would you run a marathon in the superblast 2??
Yes.👍

Why some people say… The Superblast is one if the illegal shoes for marathon race day.
