The Staffordshire Hoard in England likely deposited between 650-675 CE. (1373 years ago) turned up 5.1 kg of gold, and 1.4 kg of silver. And 131 gold coins from Anglo-Saxon England, buried around AD 600, was found in 2021 in West Norfolk, England. 1 kg or gold today traded at £49,005.85 / $60,000.

There was a documented incident where a few American soldiers actually plundered gold from a german royal family in Barvarea. The Germans stored the gold & precious jewels in a fake wall in the basement behind a wine cellar. A US soldier shipped the gold bars, a little bit at a time, back home to his family.

I know of a location where there are 30+ WW2 German fighters still sitting in a bunker in Bavaria, Germany, booby trapped with large aerial bombs, and has a possibility of holding treasure.
