Germany did not get away too easy at all. All of the German people were not guilty and yet all of them paid a huge price (millions dead, complete destruction of their cities, economy, huge loss of territory, including some of it to another equally guilty aggressor, etc.). There were individual Germans who were guilty of serious crimes and no amount of punishment would be enough for them to pay for their crimes but ALL Germans? Nope. In war, the innocent are punished and the guilty are never punished enough.
Btw, your comment that ALL Germans should be punished for the crimes of some, is the same tactic the Nazis used against Jews and other groups they despised. For example, they would justify the killing of Jewish children because of the behavior of some adult Jews and all Jews are all the same and all equally guilty. Do you see how atrocities start?
