always nice to see people discovering japanese fusion, i discovered it for about a year ago and never got tired of Casiopea, also a great performance is Casiopea - Domino line
Oh my goodness, yes. I have re-listened to this many times after the reaction. Killer track! My Tom MacDonald and Opeth reactions are getting the most traction, but I would like to go back to Casiopea one of these days.
Since the 70s and during the 80s and 90s in Japan there was some very popular jazz fusion bands like Casiopea and T-Square (and many other), many video game composers in Japan grew up listening to that style of music which is why later when composing video game music a lot of their inspiration came from that especially since most popular video games came from Japan so many who hear these songs now think it sounds like video games music when its the opposite, it's video game music that sounds like them lol. Maybe do some live performances of theirs, they are amazing
If you really want to get into fusion there's this fantastic vocal jazz fusion group called Groove For Thought. A good starting tune by them would probably be 'Teach Me Tonight'
I’m glad you liked the song. Since you mentioned video game music I took a chance. You also mentioned you’re into metal. So keeping with the slightly obscure theme, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard’s “Gila Monster” would be a good one to check out . If you’ve already heard it, I have plenty of other obscure tracks across all genres I’m ready to suggest.
Switching genres again, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ song “Hot! Heat! Wow! Hot!” would make a cool reaction to turn people on to more stuff that isn’t really in the mainstream.

@@RightManWrongPlace no problem brother your on the right path for finding great music, also Masayoshi Takanaka has a great legacy
My favourite track off this album, that guitar solo is killer but man the rhythm section

It blows my mind that I didn't know this stuff. Thanks so much! I will return to Casiopea when I can!

I have already heard Gila Monster, and a lot of KGLW. That whole Dragon album would be fun!

Never heard of them. Pretty much up for anything as long as the song itself isn't super vulgar.
