    Big Meeks said what I've been saying for a year and a half now. The worst thing they did was to get rid of Bielsa! Not only did they get rid of Bielsa, but all of his coaches as well. The only thing Leeds had going for it was their fitness. They were the most fit team in the Prem at one point! Granted, it wore most players out and caused injuries, but still, everyone gave their everything. That's all we like to see. Even worse is getting rid of Marsch. At least he kept the team attacking and going forward. He got them up and running early in the season at least. The transfers were really poor though. Pretty much every signing is a flop under Marsch besides Gnonto. Every single defender they have brought in is not up to the task. I thought Kristensen was a good signing at first, but no, Ayling is better as a right back.

    • @TheRealAhoy
      @TheRealAhoy ปีที่แล้ว +20

      No, getting rid of Bielsa. You knew what you were getting with him, expansive football and a haphazard defense. Obviously they thought the cons were beginning to outweigh the pros but at least you had an identity. They just chucked that which worked out initially but getting an identity in a team is really hard. Bielsa is one of the few who can do that, most hires out there are a shot in the dark, which Marsch certainly was. If they got relegated under Bielsa I have no doubt they'd be promoted this season if they kept the faith.

    • @TheRealAhoy

    Leeds recruitment has some major failings over the last couple of years because the owners felt they had enough already and they didn't - Bielsa made average players so much better and without that they've been exposed. Get a decent manager in, Rogers, Viera, Potter even, get rid of 60% of the first team, but some seasoned championship quality and blend that with the good youth players and Leeds would have a great chance next season.

And looking back to when we had Bielsa getting us promoted then next season we were getting wins left right and center including the likes of Man City. Then we appointed Marsch who opted a different style of play and we weren't our usual selves

    Leeds should finish in top 6. Insane amount of loanees they had in championship and all did well and their teams finished high.
    Gelhardt reached the play-offs with Sunderland
    Drameh got promoted with Luton
    Cresswell and Shackleton almost got into play-offs with Millwall
    McCalmont got promoted with Carlisle
    Jenkins made it to play-offs with Salford
    Hjelde had a good season at Rotherham
    McKinstry played a lot for Motherwell
    Daniel James hope he stays
    If they manage to keep Sinisterra, Summerville, Gnonto, Harrison, Wober, Koch, Kristensen they’ll be 100% promotion favourites. Or at least 2-3 of these.
    All 3 should be pushing for top 6 and to get promoted in 1-3 seasons, they’ll benefit from parachute payments which will give them advantage and profit like Burnley and Sheffield United did.

    Bielsa comes with a reputation, one of working players hard, accusations of burning players out, so if you know that before you hire him, you can't complain when the 'project' hits the wall and you can't blame Bielsa if there isn't a plan B to refresh the squad just ahead of the burnout or while it's happening.
    Likewise, you can't hire a manager back him to the hilt with signings and loans, then sack the manager and have half the team not suited to the caretaker manager, or the caretakers replacement. And the final ludicrous decision in hiring Big Sam who can't relate to young players, especially foreign youngsters and his 'I know as much as Klopp and Pep' statement which must have driven McKennie, Gnonto, Aaronson, Rodrigo and Rutter to Google to read about the glory days at wait for it,,,, Bolton, they must have been impressed!
