~12 year vegan here ! The key is easing yourself into vegetarian / vegan eating-almost like you are tapering off of a med. Not ignoring the icky feelings around animals being hurt is crucial to being successful-we all have cognitive dissonance and it is uncomfortable but looking at it is the only way to make lasting change. Also cows & pigs can definitely develop strong relationships with humans, & vice versa. Most of our views about farming are just from propaganda from the meat & dairy industry and marketing. There are major loopholes around what can legally be called cage-free, etc. Farms are not nice for the animals-they get recurring infections, usually are not able to roam, and separated from their babies (which, as it might be for a dog or horse, is very distressing to them). What we see painted on milk cartons are unfortunately no where near the reality for 99% of farming. Often, animals are hung upside down in a line and… you know… And they see it happening to everyone ahead of them. I also think that intelligence is a faulty way of determining who deserves to be hurt or not-I mean human babies are not smart, but… lol. Also, how we as humans measure intelligence is different from how a chimp would because they have strengths that we do not-if that makes sense. Just because a cow can’t talk, does not mean they do not deserve safety or whatever, just like dogs & cats. I hope that makes sense.
For sure. The cognitive dissonance people need to have is the one thing that really gets in the way. Most people aren't sociopathic, heartless people.. They don't WANT animals to suffer (most people.. Not all). When they see documentaries, they're horrified and then they learn to either increase the cognitive dissonance or refuse to ever watch one again. We need to be real with the fact that we are doing this to innocent animals and that horrible feeling we get when seeing them suffer should be leaned into so we morally can't continue to consume animals.
@@Naejakire3it’s not cognitive dissonance. It’s a way of life. The majority of my traditional food has animal products. I follow my ancestors. I think it’s good to cut down on meat( I try to eat it about once a week) but I don’t think it’s inherently wrong to eat meat.
sorry i’m not upto this part yet so maybe they’ve said but what do you mean by improving your health? i thought we needed to eat red meat/iron ? i understand the moral /making a change for our planet part i’m just confused about the health aspect..
Red meat is best for health. Full of vitamins, nutrients, protein. I used to be plant based for years and my hair fell out. Putting meat back into my diet saved my health.
did you know that the amount of carbon emissions you save by not eating meat in your entire lifetime, is used up by leonardo di caprio in just ONE of his 3day super yacht trips with models.

Ethan, you're such a king for speaking about the farm animals. Not many people extend this level of empathy towards them. Shoutout from a vegetarian of 12 years. 💛
Low key appreciate the animal talk, sometimes I feel like I’m crazy cause I feel very strongly about all animals and that they all have feelings and emotions, and I feel like the only one, especially coming from men it’s nice to hear other ppl get it. ❤
One thing Joe Rogan is right about in my opinion is that if you're going to eat meat, the most ethical way is hunting. Animals get to live their lives in their natural habitat and die in a way where they suffer less than they would any other way. I eat meat but I definitely get where vegetarians are coming from.
totally agree! i know someone who only eats meat that he hunts… not only does he have so much meat that he can provide to others, but all with one animal at a time. and its not part of some greater system of animal exploitation. it’s funny, because i feel like i couldnt stomach hunting, but ofc i can eat the meat at a restaurant or grocery store bc i can ignore what life for that animal was like. sheeesh 😓
@@dylan15243 I agree. I think because I grew up on a farm I didn’t have this disconnect to my food. I knew exactly where my food came from and what it was. I never had that shock moment where I realized the steak wrapped in plastic was a living animal before because I already had awareness of the reality since I can remember. The way Ethan described it was exactly how I was raised. Growing up on a farm we think practically. We have to utilize what’s around us and yes animals are resources for us too.

Do you have any tips on building muscle without meat? I hate meat but the only reason I eat it is because of the protein
@@sara.othman nuts, quinoa, chickpeas, lentils, seeds etc etc etc etc contains in some cases more protein than meat.
8 year vegan here 🥕 family
@@Naejakire3it’s not cognitive dissonance. It’s a way of life. The majority of my traditional food has animal products. I follow my ancestors. I think it’s good to cut down on meat( I try to eat it about once a week) but I don’t think it’s inherently wrong to eat meat.
Every time the camera cuts to Tom it’s like a little treat
He’s SO HANDSOME lol
Reducing your beef intake is the easiest way to cut your carbon emissions (and improve your health) if you don't want to give up meat!
sorry i’m not upto this part yet so maybe they’ve said but what do you mean by improving your health? i thought we needed to eat red meat/iron ? i understand the moral /making a change for our planet part i’m just confused about the health aspect..
Red meat is best for health. Full of vitamins, nutrients, protein. I used to be plant based for years and my hair fell out. Putting meat back into my diet saved my health.
@@cafelatt333 then you had a shitty plant based diet. You can be healthy without meat, it just takes more brain power to finess your meals.
sure but there is another great way to cut carbon emissions: organize and lobby for climate action! Individual actions alone will not work
did you know that the amount of carbon emissions you save by not eating meat in your entire lifetime, is used up by leonardo di caprio in just ONE of his 3day super yacht trips with models.
The second they’re not live I start watching
Tom reacting to absurd videos should be a recurrent segment
Love calling out Ethan about the lunch thing was so fucking funny
Literally laughed out loud when Ethan said “no body cares about that loser Dan and then cut to Dan” brilliant camera work Nate 👏
I was told there would be charades…but still a quality episode, so all is forgiven. But next time, I’ll leave a strongly worded comment 😁
That was in the last one, Gabe’s birthday episode
@@ladylonglove6740they said in the beginning of this episode they were doing it again today
@@pondy1 oh you’re right
not kidding the animal talk for the first time gave me that switch in my brain to try at least attempting a pescatarian diet.
Good for you thank you and the animals lives you save thank you
@@JohnnyFaithlmfao
You can do it! Once you get the hang of it it's way easier than you think! I haven't eaten animals in 17 yrs and have been vegan for 9 yrs. It's easy pea-sy! 🫛 lol
Give it a try, I went pescatarian first before fully becoming vegetarian!
So easily influenced lmfao
AMEN.. I’m tired of people putting themselves into echo chambers (on both sides). you can be kind and even sometimes be friends with people who disagree with you.. it’s healthy
KSI, Logan and Jimmy create a black hole of charisma should be the title of Mondays episode
It’s nice hearing Ethan talk about being a bit more understanding with peoples different views and not just shutting them out as a ‘bad person’. Though tbh I’m just here for the goofs and the gaffs. More of both please.
Ethan: So rate my poker level after losing every single time so far.
David: Yeah id say solid 7, you just got unlucky.
LOLOLOL okay david
Here for Ethan's vegetarian/vegan arc 🔥
try guys bits were funny, trying to lighten up the show, but like couldnt care less if they were on the show or not. I dont think they fit well with a good portion of your audience
Their show is kinda goofy and cringe but the try guys themselves are pretty funny. I like Keith

Ethan, you're such a king for speaking about the farm animals. Not many people extend this level of empathy towards them. Shoutout from a vegetarian of 12 years. 💛

LOGAN PAUL IS GROSS. NEED KARMA TO ACT RIGHT AND FAST 😊😊
One thing Joe Rogan is right about in my opinion is that if you're going to eat meat, the most ethical way is hunting. Animals get to live their lives in their natural habitat and die in a way where they suffer less than they would any other way. I eat meat but I definitely get where vegetarians are coming from.
totally agree! i know someone who only eats meat that he hunts… not only does he have so much meat that he can provide to others, but all with one animal at a time. and its not part of some greater system of animal exploitation. it’s funny, because i feel like i couldnt stomach hunting, but ofc i can eat the meat at a restaurant or grocery store bc i can ignore what life for that animal was like. sheeesh 😓
Never seen such a drop in views, it’s a shame.
Ethan is having the awareness I had 2 years ago! I’m now vegetarian 🥗
gross
Lol the realization that these meats are not magically appearing in stores pre wrapped? Welcome to the real world.
@@tonypringles2285 bro again?! 😭
@@faitch5127 yes. fun times right?
@@dylan15243 I agree. I think because I grew up on a farm I didn’t have this disconnect to my food. I knew exactly where my food came from and what it was. I never had that shock moment where I realized the steak wrapped in plastic was a living animal before because I already had awareness of the reality since I can remember. The way Ethan described it was exactly how I was raised. Growing up on a farm we think practically. We have to utilize what’s around us and yes animals are resources for us too.
I always cringe when they ask Nate anything regarding Mexico or things in Spanish...
Saaame. Dan’s spanish is exponentially better than Nate’s. Not being able to say Xochimilco is very telling damn
Haha why?
@@alexstoyanoff7434 he knows little to nothing regarding either topic. It became very apparent a while back when he couldn't properly translate a super chatter's Spanish comment. Also Xochimilco is a fairly well-known area in Mexico. I understand he never put himself in that position but Ethan using him as a source for any insight into the topic since he's the only one there he could ask is what gets me lol

I love this show I love the crew I love Ethan and Hila I love Gabe and all the crazy characters, Bren, Jeff, Martin, the queen and everyone in-between.
Hard times are upon us and we are so divided. I do miss when this show was good times only and goofs and gaffs. But I hate how divided we have become. I hate how we've let ourselves become so angry that anything said that's not agreed with causes explosive and sometimes ignorant reactions.
But most of all I hate that we have forgotten we're all FAMILY I know I'm not the only person who's had this podcast help them through the worst times and saved them from loneliness.
Cheers my dudes, and with peace and love, I miss Hila.

I definitely don't think that every single meal needs to have meat. It's disgusting to me personally that many people eat literal pounds of meat every day. But it's just not something I'd personally do. I feel like it'd make a huge difference if more people ate meat in moderation like what's natural to do. My husband will sit and eat two or even three steaks or a families worth of bacon. I think yall have given me the motivation to start cooking vegetarian more often like I used to.
Pounds of meat everyday? Wtf
