Thank you so much for joining me through this trilogy! I loved it SO MUCH and am sad that it’s already over!
We have more Nolan films coming up next with either The Prestige or Momento on March 20th!
Keep an eye on the community tab for a poll on which one you’d like to see first!
Thank you all for the support with this trilogy! I hope you enjoyed the content!
Damn choosing between The Prestige and Memento is gonna be hard 😂😭
Like I said: The only Christopher Nolan movies I seen is The Dark Knight trilogy. So, hard pass but thanks anyway.
nolan loves to do practical stunts. so it was probably 90 percent real
I highly recommend the DC animated movies. They are amazing.
You should watch both Prestige and Memento, but i recommend to start with Prestige. It is my absolute fav movie ever.
That ending with Bruce and Alfred discreetly acknowledging each other was the perfect ending.
It made no sense. Batman would NEVER fake his death and just go live a "normal" life.
@@ItApproaches It made perfect sense in the context of the Nolan films. This is not comic Batman.
Alfred was imagining it, Bruce Wayne actually died.
@@hadoken95nope, Nolan actually wanted Batman to die. He made this ending because of Warner Bros cried about Batman passing on. This ending leaves it up to the viewer to decide if Batman lived or not. I’m on the side that Batman did not survive and that Alfred was imagining seeing him. Bruce Wayne is a famous rich famous billionaire, he would have been spotted by the paparazzi at that restaurant and reported alive. Think about it.
2nd the mothers pearls at the end of the scene I believe that represents Wayne joining his parents in the after life.
>Hey Selina, I have a great plan to let Alfred know I'm okay. We need to go to the café he frequents and sit in a place he'll see us, and I'll give him a nod. ...No, I don't know what café it is. He never told me the name. No, I also don't know where he usually sits - could be anywhere in the restaurant. He never told me when he frequents it either, so we're pretty much gonna be hopping from café to café full-time and hope nobody recognizes me as Bruce Wayne, one of the most powerful and rich men in the world who just passed away and whose face is no doubt on every Gotham newspaper. Why are you laughing?
Bravo, Nolan.
Glad I'm not the only one bawling at the end of Alfred apologizing at the Wayne grave - just kills me, Michael Caine, such a great actor.
Fun fact, Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer and Michael Caine have been part of every movie I’ve reacted to so far 🤣
Your reactions to the Dark Knight Trilogy have been golden. I look forward to your future reactions.
So glad you’ve liked them 😊😊
the best creation of DC and a detail the statue they created for Batman at the end. It's so appropriate that, unlike a hero, whom you imagine posing proudly and looking up, you see a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders, weighed down by darkness. "Because those who rise highest are those who start from the bottom"
@@LiteWeightReactingType in Batman can't stop thinking about sex and watch that it's making fun of this movie.
Bane basically gives away the twist during his monologue in the sewers fighting Batman the first time. He mentions that he was born in darkness and didn’t see light until he was a man. So he couldn’t have been the child who climbed out of the pit.
Good point! I missed that!
Well it does sound like he was talking figuratively so it wasn't too obvious.
@@LiteWeightReacting I think everyone did on the first pass - the movie kind of leads you into thinking that way from the get go.
The pit was dug in ancient times, and so it’s possible that Bane’s mother was also like Talia’s mother. So he could have literally been “born in it, molded by it.”
18:02 It's a combination of the Lazarus Pit and Pena Duro, the prison Bane grew up in in the comics.
That’s just phenomenal! I really love that!
@@LiteWeightReactingI love how you hang on to every bit of dialogue hoping to expand your Batman lore your channel ❤
That's odd because the words Pena and Peña are both female in Spanish. It should be Pena or Peña Dura.
2 things:
1- That chanting in the soundtrack was crowd sourced by Hans Zimmer. He invited people from all over the world to contribute via online. It was pretty awesome.
2- I drove to Pittsburgh with friends to be extras at Heinz Field. It was so awesome. There were like 10,000 of us there wearing black and yellow for the Gotham Rogues football team.
My wife and I were at Heinz Field as extras too! It was a HOT day!
Hardy played an incredible bane. A beast
Totally agree! Loved his take on Bane!
Disagree, this isn't Bane at all.
@@ItApproaches I agree with you it would of been way cooler if they used the mountain (thor bjornsson) off game of thrones and used tom hardy as a voice actor
@@andrewbragg504 That would have been interesting.
@@LiteWeightReactingI love how you totally got the tie ins and the metaphors these movies were made by a film maker who truly loves the Batman lore. It's so obvious when super hero films are made from a corporation like Disney who has no clue. Marvel was awesome until Disney ruined it.
'Do you feel in charge?'... So badass! 😂
When alfred cried we all cried with him 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I know I did!!
@@LiteWeightReacting me to and the movie came out over ten years ago and that scene is still sad 😢
Just great acting by Michael Caine
Smh, ain't that the damn truth!
I can’t handle it bro his acting was too good gets me all the time
A neat detail in the scene at the masquerade charity event is that Bruce is the only person without an actual mask. As any DC fan already knows, Bruce Wayne *IS* the mask and Batman is who he really is.
Another cool thing is the comparison between Batman and Bane's first fight and their second fight. In their first one, Batman tries fighting him with overwhelming brute force and all the scare tactics he has used against every other criminal he has fought in the past, but its doing absolutely nothing to Bane as it is literally like hitting a boulder. In their second fight, Batman instead uses precision strikes at key areas over brute force, opting to continuously punch Bane in the face where his mask is which is where his major vulnerability is. Its very subtle, but still a cool character development on Batman's part where just like with the Joker in The Dark Knight, he realizes brute force can't do the job here either.
Bane was actually born in the prison in this movie. The only difference is that Talia is the one that escaped before she came back and rescued them. Great reaction btw
It's so refreshing to see a reactor who picks up on so many details. Subscribed!
The idea with John Blake's first name being Robin was more of an Easter Egg rather than setting him up as Robin or Nightwing; it was Nolan's way of nodding at the various Robins from the comics without directly adapting any of them.
But the implication at the end is that Blake becomes the next Batman, which is one of the reasons the title is "The Dark Knight Rises" and the last shot is him rising on that platform in the Batcave. It's also why he says in his first scene with Bruce that he knows he's Batman because he felt the same way Bruce did growing up angry and alone after losing his parents, it's to establish he has similar motivations to carry on in Bruce's footsteps.
It basically brings everything full circle back to Batman Begins; where Ra's talks about how a symbol can be immortal, and Bruce creates Batman as a symbol that can outlive him - "As a man, I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, I can be destroyed; but as a symbol, I can be incorruptible, I can be everlasting." What he's basically saying there is Batman can outlive him as long as there's someone else to take over when the time comes, and that's what we finally see at the end of the trilogy.
Alfred is the highlight of this movie, together with the soundtrack. When you started tearing up in the beginning, I was too
There are plenty of people who have reacted to these films knowing nothing of Batman, your video game knowledge provided you with a unique perspective to these films, which I appreciated.
Thank you!!! I really really enjoyed having this perspective. If I’m being honest I was a little worried how it would be received since I had some prior knowledge so I’m glad it translated well!
Yes the plane scene in the beginning was filmed using practical effects. If there's one thing to learn about Christopher Nolan is that he despises CGI
Nolan is just the king of practical effects!
Yes, Nolan despises CGI so much even in Interstellar he flew Dr Brand and Copper to an actual Black Hole to film the scenes, that is why the scenes with Gargantua looked so real.
@@mukundyadav6913 clm down, you get the point
Nolan may despise CGI, but that doesn't mean he won't use it. And for some scenes, it's unavoidable.
@@mukundyadav6913 lol yea people love to blow it out of proportion. He wants to make a realistic movie and prefers being practical where...practical. He has an excellent relationship with his visual effects teams which he employs all the time just like every other successful modern filmmaker. People need to get off the CGI hate bandwagon. Bad, cheap, rushed CGI is bad, not all CGI.
Some people misinterpreted the scene between Blake and Gordon. The "plunge their hands into the filth so you can keep yours clean" line is a reference to Batman taking the fall for Gordon in the last movie.
When Blake says "your hands look plenty filthy to me, Commissioner", he's not insulting him, he's complimenting him, acknowledging that's an excellent cop, Gordon has made plenty of heroic sacrifices for the good of Gotham.
Wish more reactorsunderstood the dialogue in that scene, because Blake isn't speaking literally, he's speaking symbolically, and he's not saying Gordon is a dirty cop, he's telling Gordon "you and Batman both went through hell for Gothamto survive."
“Victory has defeated you.”
" You merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding! The shadows betray you because they belong to me. ”
Dialogues in this movie are just 🤌🏻❤
Unrelated Fun Fact: Pirates would wear an eye patch so they always had one eye accustomed to the dark for going below deck, they would move the patch to the other eye while they were below.
16th century night vision 👍🏽
this well known man....
Blake isn't becoming Robin, he becomes Batman, that's why Wayne gave him the coordinates to the Batcave, and placed a new bat signal on the MCU rooftop.
Giving John Blake the middle name of "Robin" was Christopher Nolan's compromise. WB insisted that Robin be in the movie but Nolan hated the idea of a sidekick. So his compromise was to create a character based on the original Robin (Dick Grayson), making him a policeman who becomes a detective, and he even gets called a "hot head" like in the comics, but he's never a sidekick, instead he's picked by Batman to take his place.
Batman is "dead". Blake became Nightwing, not some brand-new Batman.
Amazing reaction as always ❤
And yes, Alfred apologizing to Thomas and Martha's graves at the end always fucking wrecks me. ALWAYS.
The end of an era... thank you for posting reactions to these nolan masterpieces.
Thank you!!! But the best is yet to come 😉
Tom Hardy had to re-record a lot of his lines as in the test screening we couldn't understand him.
Wait really?! Did you see the test screening?
@@LiteWeightReacting I was one of the lucky ones to be asked if I wanted to view an unreleased movie. It was my second test screening, the first was for Wedding Crashers.
Even in the initial theater release, the audio mixing wasn't great and he was hard to understand
@@LiteWeightReacting I'm pretty sure they released 5 minutes of the movie in a scene/trailer situation. It was the plane scene in the beginning and lots of people had trouble understanding Bane. You can find it on youtube. Just search "original bane voice trailer"
@@ThePolymathlete YES. That's my one main peeve with this movie.
your reaction to knowing that was Teal'c was awesome and wanting him to say "indeed" hilarious
Don't know this person's content other then these few reacts but also was like nice, a stargate fan.
Indeed would have been great, a "jaffa joke" would of been even better.
very surprised she spotted him!
Fun fact from the novelization of the movie, after losing Rachel, Bruce went around and put sub dermal trackers in all of the people important to him so he can find them if they go missing. Which is why he was able to find Blake as quick as he did before he was executed.
Honestly first time i actually watch a video reaction all the way to the end.. i cant tell it is awesome watching a movie with u.. because u do get invested in yhe movie story. Thank you.🙏🏽💪🏽
Blake rising at the end with the movie title popping and the music hitting = perfection
So good!!!
I love how sentimental and emotionally intuitive you are. It was a real pleasure to see you react the same way I do about films like this.
You've watched Christian Bale play 'Batman' ... Now watch him play 'Bateman' in the classic movie "American Psycho."
Bateman Begins

The Machinist too

So glad to see more folks who appreciate part 3 as much as I do!! I love the entire Nolan Batman Trilogy.
Great reaction! Loved the pit section especially and the call back to why we fall, and of course everything you were feeling at the end was beautiful. ❤
Liteweight: does he become like Nightwing
Me: goddamn it💀💀
Masterful editing to the "Make the Climb" scene!
Well thank you! 🤣
And when he is climbing, the bats flying around him is so much symbolichal.

It’s amazing how u got the big twist halfway throughout this movie! Really enjoy your thoutfull reactions! ❤
I really like how you appreciate the music in these movies, other reactors be sleeping on how epic it is really brings out the gamer in you!

@@LiteWeightReacting The best!!!
Great reaction. And I love that you’re so into the story that it brings tears. Many of us feel that way, too. Nice call on the “Lazarus Pit” giving Bruce his rebirth - I never caught that. Your take on that is brilliant!
You’re the first person I’ve ever seen recognize him as teal’c, made me so happy.
Indeed!
"Let's not stand on ceremony here, Mr Wayne!" Love that f*cking line! But glad you FINALLY watched this amazing trilogy Lite👊🏾.
The what in the french revolution had me hollering - that was so apt hahaha
🤣🤣
A wonderful reaction again, really love how you take the knowledge you have and use it to fully understand the film on a much deeper level than many "seasoned" fans. And yes, we all cried our eyes out along with Alfred. I also did at the little kid saying "Thats Batman" as he flies out over the ocean.
36:50 this.
the "why do we fall" moment and the way you got emotional by it. This is why I love this movie, and there´s only a few reactors that appreciate or even include that moment in their videos.
Thank you!
Fun fact: John Stewart (the actor that plays Bane's main henchman) did the voice of the robot CASE in Interstellar!
That "henchman" was actually Deadshot
The prisoner who helps Bruce with his back is also the same guy who played Einstein in Oppenheimer
@@SteveNathn Oh shitttt true!!!
Blake was basically Robin throughout the movie, the ending is Robin becoming Nightwing and taking over. Also if you noticed when Batman's statue was revealed, the shot from above showed a smile which is an homage to Heath Ledger's Joker apparently :).
The whole "robin" thing makes no damn sense. That wasn't Nightwing, it was some non-existent Robin. How do you have a Robin with no Batman to train him lol. Just one of the many messy plot points in the movie.
Nolan said the name reveal's just a nod to Robin. He becomes Batman in the end. He's not really any Robin from the comics.
EDIT: I remembered it was Christopher Nolan who said it. It was Jonathan Nolan. Writer of the movie.
@@ItApproachesJesus is there anything you don't moan about?
I think they should have named him Tim Drake as in comics I believe that he deduced that Bruce was Batman and Dick was the original Robin (I know that we didn’t get a Robin) just my opinion 🤷♂️
@@leemcqueen500 Plenty.
I think, while obviously not as sttong as "The Dark Knight", what Nolan did, to tell a self contained story within the Batman Universe, that ends with Bruce getting out of all of this and living a happy life somewhere else, healed of his demons, the Batman gone, is immensly satisfying.
Usually you don't get this kind of story in these universes, because in serialized comics you always want to sell next month's issue. So the hero can never die and never retire. But when it finally happens, all is right.
Haha made me a good laugh when you homegrown said 'what she steal?' :D
Bruce wayne genuinely Batman as his real identity so when he says "bruce wayne eccentric billionaire" to Catwomen he means it.
Yes! Best day of the week! We need Arrival next
I see you don’t worry! I gotta finish up my Nolan binge but I will 100% react to Arrival!

the best trilogy ever made all times .
Great reaction as usual. You're becoming my favourite reaction channel.
I watched all your reactions in one sitting and then I was waiting for this one all hyped up ! I was checking everyday if your next batman reaction is already up. Loved watching you react to this trilogy. Perfectly edited and you did an amazing job of allowing viewers to be a part of your experience. And MAN, are you Beautiful!!! Thanks so much and looking forward to the next series of movies!
I laughed out loud when you advised the guys to make like a starfish on the ice. And then your "What in the French Revolution is happening?!" line. You brought it on this video. Great work!
Such a fun journey & I love that all Alfred wants is for Bruce to be happy they tied it all together really well & it’s so quotable & Bane was scary 😂. All the characters had such a different perspective to them just loved how everyone was written in how they did things.
The pit being Roland's version of the lazerious pit? That's a wonderful take. Thank you for that peespective!
Thank you! I thought it was a good connection to make!
You pointing out that the prison is supposed to be symbolic of the Lazarus Pit made this one of my favorite TH-cam reactions to this trilogy, a small amount of fans have made this theory over the years, and seeing someone who knows Batman lore but never saw these films makes your reactions so unique.

There's a genuineness in your face,,,,,authentic. 👍👍👍
Great reaction. 💥😎
Great reaction/insight. I've seen this movie several times and never thought about the pit that way before.
I love so much watching you sharing your emotions. I know it's hard to know people through any device, but I feel this show how genuine you are. Yeah, I would put it below The Dark Knight, just because of Heath Ledger's performance (anyone would actually). You're so right about how they managed to show Bane stature. I never really thought about it, so it probably means they did a good job in hiding it, especially when Bats and Bane fight side by side, Bale being a tad over 6 ft and Hardy being just 5ft-9in. Thank you for this reaction. I enjoyed it so much!

"Who's That?"
That character's name is Roland Dagget, just like the character of Carmine Falcone in "Batman Begins", he's another staple character in Batman's Rogues Gallery
"What in the French Revolution?"
Nolan said that this script was based on 'A Tale of Two Cities', and Gordon is reading from that very book at the end. It's the hero's final speech before he is executed by guillotine.
im so happy you recognized tealc INSTANTLY haha, love this movie and the first time i definitely didnt expect random chris judge to show up. my vote goes for the prestige next :)
Just noticed you've gone over 15k subscribers! Congratulations!!! And you are just getting started here!
Great reaction. With your knowledge of Batman mythology; you made my day figuring out the twist with Talia. Makings of a true Batman fan.
I was puffy until the next day from crying so much, the ending was such an emotional roller-coaster. So happy I'm not the only one
Truly what a remarkable trilogy. Christopher Nolan is truly one of a kind when it comes to filmmaking!

42:59 When I first saw this in the cinema back in 2012 a kid sitting behind me said "It's Talia" right when this scene happened.
Can't believe you made me cry at the end there. Great watchalong with you.
Glad you enjoyed it!!! That’s the awesome thing about reactions! They can make you feel like you’re seeing the movie all over again!
“Gleeful” is one of the best parts of what you were during this reaction 😂 Loved It

You're slowly becoming one of my fav reactors! Keep up the good work, looking forward to more of your reactions!
Wow, thank you!
I love your reaction. You did great.😊
I love your reactions, thanks for showing your true feelings while you react to the movies
Awesome reaction video! This movie is underrated and is the perfect conclusion to Nolan's trilogy. My friend and I attended a midnight screening of Dark Knight Rises and it was packed and ir was fantastic!
Awesome reaction! I think you are spot on about the Lazarus Pit. Plus, it is quite literally a leap of faith.
To me, the main theme of this movie is knowing when to quit. It also ties really well with my favorite line from the previous one - you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Ok - how did it take til today for me to realise you had a movie react channel too? This morning was spent with the Batman Trilogy, and was a joy to watch - I'm as soft as you tho, so when you cry, I cry too! Great Detective work on Talia (I believe that was a twist meant to be solved by the fans!) and, it's probably been said elsewhere, but Heath Ledger was expecting the hospital Pyro to go off, but kept acting when it didn't, so that was genuine surprise at the BOOM!
Looking forward to more fun here!
Love from your latest subscriber!
When this came out, our theater showed the entire trilogy back to back to back with this one at midnight. It was a phenomenal experience.
The guy Catwoman was talking to on the rooftop played in STAR WARS ROUGH ONE as the Director in the white Cape
The last scene with the batcave opening was awesome ❤
You're the only reactor to notice the pearls! Love you and this!
39:37 YES!!! You recognized Teal'c! Not many people recognize him, especially as Teal'c but it is such a good character and such a good show! SG-1 was probably the first Sci-fi show I watched growing up so that gives it an extra special place in my life.
The rest of your reaction was also good too lol (although as I am typing this I am still in the middle of watching it 😜). Love all the throwbacks to different movies and all the twists and emotions!
Totally agree with your take on the alternate Lazarus pit! I like that Nolan tried to adapt comic things while trying to avoid the supernatural. I think he did a great job with Bane, Ras, and the Pit.
The fact that you had more familiarity with Batman is why you enjoyed this film as much as you did and why it brought out those emotions.
I've been a Batman fan since I was a small child watching the animated series, so when Batman seemingly sacrificed himself, it wrecked me. Combined with the Talia and Robin reveals (and bringing back Crane), this film took me on a ride.
I knew that Talia existed in the lore, but I was still surprised by the reveal when I watched this film. I only knew her from Arkham City, and it had been some time between me playing the game and seeing the film, so I kind of forgot about her, until her name was said in the movie and my jaw dropped. It also helped that I had never seen that movie where the little girl is from, so I just believed what the movie wanted me to believe.
I love your reactions. Two weeks is a long time to go without a reaction
Every time i hear talias story with the music it makes me cry my favorite scene in this movie
Thank you for reacting to this trilogy. It made me so happy to hear you say: 'Teal'c? That's Teal'c!'. It seems to be rare these days to find someone that has also seen Stargate SG-1. Glad to see you enjoyed the Dark Knight movies and although your knowledge about Batman and the child actress spoiled the Talia reveal a bit, at least the Robin reveal seemed a surprise.
The Robin bit was definitely a surprise! Would’ve been cool to see where they went with that! But Teal’c… INDEED
Im glad i went into these movies without an extensive knowledge of the batman lore. Definitely hit way harder not knowing. That being said you knew and your reaction was just about the same as mine lol. Nolan is literally legendary.
I always thought that it was subtly heroic when that one board member refuses to put someone else in his place and volunteers..
You know I never clocked the metaphor of the hole being the Lazarus pit until you said it. Its so obvious too cos like you mentioned he was literally destroyed by bane then healed in the pit (if you can call a punch in the spine healing). -His escape is his rebirth. Bahhh! How did I not realise this! Also how dope is your sound quality? Like on this end the sounds and your voice were perfectly balanced and crystal clear! Anyway rewatching this trilogy with u has been a blast. You're really killing it mate! Now remember whenever you get upset or down, just remember the pit chant; "Woo woo dishwasher!" Peace!
