Good information for youngsters, newly marrieds. Whenever i buy new set of clay agal for karthi, i always buy it a week before and immerse it in water for a day and then set it out for drying. This will prevent the agal from absorbing too much of oil. New agal absorbs lots of oil.

Mam I have the same vilakku akasa vilakku /kambi vilakku but it only has only 5 sides then how can we light it as akasa deepam which needs 8 sides

This lighting of at least 2 vilakku, is it for every day or just in Karthigai month? I had 2 separate vilakku: 1 Kamatchi vilakku in the Sami medai and another small round vilakku in front of Shirdi Sai Baba that I had kept on a separate table. I remembered someone saying there must be only one lamp lit in the house so recently I shifted Baba's picture to inside the Sami medai and now light only the Kamatchi vilakku. Please tell me if I did right or wrong? Sorry for the long message. TQ 🙏
