Just finished this episode, and at the end, your invitation to the table brought tears to my eyes. This is such a hard time of the year for so many of us and that little grace speaks volumes. ❤❤❤
My 9yo son and I loved your Tannenbaum classification system. He is now deciding which categories all his favorite movies belong in. My husband and I have a non-traditional Christmas Eve movie tradition. He is not a fan of the holidays at all and by Christmas Eve, he’s just ready for it all to be over. So to revive his wilting spirits, we watch the most non-Christmas movie there is: Jaws. And we eat seafood gumbo. We’re going on 15 years of this tradition and it’s now one of my favorites! Merry Christmas, Christopher and family!
Oh my gosh... the stars! YES!!!! My 5 year old watched Jingle Jangle earlier this month as a "Christmas movie" and literally said "mommy, where's Christmas. This isn't about Christmas." Love The Holiday and Love Actually but totally agree!
Love this way of categorizing holiday media!! The first time I watched Jingle Jangle I was so upset that it wasn’t more Christmasy. Then I went to describe the plot to someone - a child helps an elderly inventor rediscover the magic he used to find in building toys - and I saw how it was actually very Christmasy. Still belongs in the star category but it has its layers!
I loved everything about this episode Christopher! Just wonderful! As a French Canadian growing up near Montreal, every year for the past 40 years there has been something called Ciné-Cadeau (Cinema gift): during every day of the 2 weeks long school break, one family movie is shown on public tv. Some of those movies have been shown every single year and have become Christmas favorites even if they don’t have anything to do with the season! Asterix et Cléopatre, an animated movie from an iconic and well loved comics series, has become a true classic and everyone I know from 5-75 years old waits each year to watch it during the holidays! It probably belongs near the top of the tree. Also, La Guerre des Tuques ( War of the hats)- though the English title is The Dog Who Stopped the War though it was originally made in French in 1984)is a classic Christmas movie for us. It probably belongs near the bottom of the tree 🌲. The made an animated version in 2015 which I think is called Snowtime in English. But it will never equal the original version in my heart: kids on holiday, snow forts, snowball fights…. It’s my 70s childhood! 😊Thanks for featuring so many incredible dyers and businesses! I am going to check them out and give some love to some of them when I can. What incredible people there are in this community! Happy holidays to you and everyone at your table! 🥰🎄
Howl is living her best life. She reminds me of all the barn cats we've had - coming to the house and leaving when they want. I can see a post Christmas shopping spree coming on. You'll have to show us what you collect and create. I've been working on an Anthropology felt holiday garland for two years now. It takes a while because it's literally hundreds of 1" x 6" pieces of felt tied in the middle and strung on cotton thread. I make a lot of my own ornaments. I'd love to have a whole knitted tree. Christmas cookies... yum.... I've had a few but haven't baked a single cookie. My grandsons and I have had fun, though. We painted my french doors with snowmen and Christmas tree, made lots of crafts, wrapped packages, put together a building brick Christmas tree (not Legos, but like Legos) and started painting a ceramic Christmas tree. (Five Below for $5! I was surprised any were left!) I could easily watch several hours of you discussing Holiday Movies. And most of my faves are in category three - I love Meet Me in St. Louis, but as much as I love the Christmas scenes, my fave is the Halloween scenes. I watched one on Netflix called The Noel Diary that had nothing to do with Christmas about a woman seeking her bio mom. Holidate is another good one on Netflix. Just a couple who decide to go to each other's events as a 'date' so people would stop asking about SOs. And yes, White Christmas is also an amazing movie not about Christmas. Another movie that really has Christmas as complete set dressing is 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Many people have a crisis throughout the year. And most of the movie takes place at other times of the year. What a wonderful review of yarns and only two that I am familiar with!
Thank you for new yarn makers! Some I had known about and love but as always we want to have more independent makers. Enjoy your holidays and be well and enjoy yourself!!❤
Christopher, you are a breath of fresh air. I love the 12 days of yarn. What a great way to recognize other makers. And your ending makes me tear up every time. Merry Christmas!!
I wanted to share that I loved watching this video and most importantly your closing message truly deeply moved me and I (like other viewers) teared up and even across the cold square metal and glass that is my tv, I wanted to let you know I felt the warmth of your embrace and the profound kindness of the open invitation to sit with you. ❤
Christopher - scotcheroos ?! I've never heard of these. Once again, here you are serving us up another recipe to bring to the potluck! 🤣 I saved this episode right for when I would need it and I'm glad I did. It's so nice to knit with someone far away and listen to them chatting away. The Holiday movie chart HAD me rolling! Thank you for that. So many lovely yarn companies here doing amazing things (not just yarn!) Thanks for sharing them with us.
This was just another fantastic video. You provide so much fun and comfort. Some of the color combos gave me some soap design ideas. We find inspiration in so many places. Happy New Year!
Marianthi was my introduction into the world of hand dyed yarns, and sock knitting! I bought confetti on sock last January to learn to knit socks and they are my favorite pair I’ve made :)
OMG!!! A confetti fisherman's sweater! squealing!!! I so can't wait to see!! I think I'm more excited than you... well maybe not but almost! LOL Amazing yarny goodness!!!
My 13 y.o. and I were discussing your Tannenbaum classification and enjoying ourselves. I would say most of what I (we) watch over December are movies that are all layers except hardly the bottom one: maybe set at Christmas (or not), they were shown on TV or at the theaters at Christmastime when I was young (and streaming today), and have become tradition (It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, The Holiday, Home Alone, and so on)--all completely possible without it being Christmas. The 1966 animated "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is really the main movie that falls at that bottom layer (that I can think of) that I watch consistently. Thanks for saving a seat for me at the table! Merry Christmas!
“Sleepless in Seattle “ is one of my go-to Christmastime movies. “Christmas in Connecticut “ is also fun. The DVD it’s on includes a short movie called “Star in the Night” that’s well-done. It would definitely be all about Christmas. The prior two are probably higher on the Graduated Tannenbaum scale. Oh, and “The Blue Carbuncle” is a Sherlock Holmes episode with Jeremy Brett that is set at Christmas! Fun episode! Thank you! ❤
Christopher, I have absolutely loved watching the relationship blossom between you and Howl; it's better than a rom-com. I cried seeing Howl under your tree. For our family, it's not a full Christmas until we've watched Elf, The Muppets Christmas Carol, The Christmas Story and the Harry Potter Series. Thank you for bringing us into your life; you are a bright comforting presence. Merry Christmas!
Literally broke into tears when you said we have a spot at your table it’s a hard time of year for myself and so many others . Loved seeing howl under the tree , she’s pretty special.
Okay, your stash wins hands down. So beautiful and impressive!! Thank you for sharing all the fine yarn producing folks. Thanks also for a very lovely podcast and I am looking forward to all the things you make in 2024! By the way, my husband of 43 years and I always watch Love Actually on either Christmas Eve or Christmas day. It's definitely a Christmas movie in my house!!
I certainly think it is a Christmas movie! It's just one of those delightfully weird ones like It's A Wonderful Life where you ask, "Ok.... but it this a fully Christmas movie??" lol I hope you've had a wonderful holiday!
Your words at the end are so heart-warming. Thank you for that. I have gone through hard months and I am still not at the end of the tunnel . Have beautiful holidays with your dear family. Best wishes from Germany.
I'm so sorry to read about your difficult spell. If it helps: I know for certain you are in extraordinary company this year. I've never experienced so many of my friends and colleagues undergoing one of the hardest years in recent memory all at once. I hope the new year brings warmth, comfort, and (most of all) easy resolution for you!
I’m so behind on your podcasts as you can see, but I’m so glad I watched this one just for the a Christmas movie breakdown on its own. If you lived closer to me, we would so be friends. 😂
Laura, of @alwaysbekindyarn, is ABSOLUTELY amazing. She is one of my favorite people on the planet even if we've never met. She is such a beautiful soul and beautiful woman. I love her so much
Lmaoooooo it's true! I made it to fifty.... seven this year? I think 57. And if you can believe it, there's a whole stack of DVDs that were left untouched, waiting to be watched.
I love Christmas cookies, but I really don't love baking when busy. So i make my favourite cookies in November, freeze them (baked or unbaked depends on your recipe) and bake them as the cravings hit :)
I just love your joy, passion & enthusiasm about yarn & life….thank you for letting us into your world it’s been so enjoyable. Wishing you & your family a happy time over this period & will look forward to what happens next year 🩷👏🏻
I think we need to create a new Christmas holiday tradition Chris, a story narrated by you! ( your last was so good!) Comfy PJ’s, hot cocoa, crackling log fire and twinkly lights, all snuggled up for a moment’s peace and joy!
I truly meant to have one happen this year but I got a bit over extended and ran out of time.... but that just means I can put it on the list for next year!
Very very merry and happy holidays, Christopher! I'm a new knitting podcaster myself (started in Sept this year) and I can completely relate to the intense joy of being included in the international knitting community. I am an ally to many friends and family in the queer community and I thank you so much for being such an authentic and generous safe space for them. You have a beautiful soul. Cheers, Nicole (aka Knicoleknits) 🥰 P.S. Thanks so much for the yarn review. There were several that are going on my "tasting" list for 2024!
Ok, THANK YOU. Hahaha it's like... Yeah, ok, it takes place at Christmas and I suppose it has some periodic Christmas things in it but.... Is it really a *Christmas* movie??
Thanks for another fine episode, Christopher. This year is the first year, I've been watching Christmas movies as a "thing". I've only watched four - nothing compared to you. 'Love actually' is on top of the list 🙂. I wish you a very happy New Year, and thank you so much for your humanity and empathy. I'm so happy, I found your podcast.
Another very enjoyable episode. Your ranking system was so much fun. My “Must watch” every December 24th is the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge. The incomparable Alistair Sim as Scrooge, there are several British character actors as supporting cast.
Hi, Christopher! I loved this episode--start to finish! Your voice is like hot, buttered rum and the content is ah-mazing. Re: Christmas movies. So, I learned that an old classic (I'd not watched, but did this year) is a "Christmas movie" and I would place it at (starting from the bottom) Level 2: "The Apartment". Glad I watched it, but I don't see how it could get made in this day and age--SO much inappropriateness! One my husband and I found on Netflix and really liked is "The Feast of the Seven Fishes"--which would straddle the line between Level 1 and Level 2. I can now say everything I know about Italians is from this movie and "Moonstruck". Love, love, love. This year we did not watch some of our usuals, but in 2024 we hope to watch some classics that we just somehow never have seen. Cheers and Happy New Year!
I'd argue that "It's A Wonderful Life" is a "star tier" Christmas movie. Would it stand alone without the Christmas scenes/songs, etc at the end? I say it would.
Im rewatching your video and just had a thought. Christmas starts really early for knitters because yarn Advents are introduced around April, thats really early!!!
Love your podcasts; you’ve got such a lovely and chill energy 🥰 Regarding the children on the scene, it’s actually a nativity play with primary school children performing with their families watching them in the audience. It’s a classic Christmas feature in the UK, and not necessarily a pageant 😊
Im Finnish and Ive never used Lankavas yarn, because I am now loving the hand dyed yarns and not have had those yarns in my local stores, but because you in the States are loving it I might have to try some. 🤭
Adding some Marianthi love! What a fun yarn to work with. I made cowls for my kiddos with kaleidoscope, and wish I had some left over to make myself one! Can’t wait to see your sweater!
Wonderful episode. I am a baby boomer, not sure what else to call myself. Lol anyway I grew up in the sixties and the Wizard of Oz was only on tv once a year. And it was at Thanksgiving. Now it comes on all year long. To this day when I think of Thanksgiving, I think of Oz. Oh and to this day I still cry in the end when Dorothy says goodbye to the Scarecrow. As for Christmas, I guess my must see isn’t a movie but the cartoon show of Rudolph. I have been watching that since I can remember.
See, I love stuff like this! The days before everything was immediately available, traditions, etc. were formed in unique ways around when media was available. It's just... so interesting!
THANK YOU for bringing up "My Favorite Things" .... this has bugged me for years! There is nothing in it related to Christmas, there is nothing in the movie related to Christmas; yet, we hear it in so many Christmas playlists! Also, when you held up the #12 yarn and compared it to darker versions of it.... the 4 together would make a smashing sweater together! Looking forward to seeing what you will make with all of them!
UGH. I wish they were the same weight!! They WOULD make a lovely sweater but I'd need a million skeins of the lighter ones to make up for the difference in weight!
During one of your upcoming videos could you show us how you organize your stash? Mine is chaotic, and I need to see how others organize. So much precious yarn deserves for me to know exactly where it is when I'm ready for it.
Perfect timing! I'm going to be in Madison, WI next week -- It sounds like I have a yarn shop to check out! As always, this video was a complete joy. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and happy new year -- thank you for sharing your time and energy with us.
Love your podcasts! A Christmas movie that I love that most people I mention it to haven't heard of is One Magic Christmas. Give it a try if you have not already.
Almost crying at your heartfelt expression of gratitude, thank YOU for creating such a calm and compassionate space and the 12 yarns of Christmas was a welcome break from the year in review FO parade ❤️ happy holidays! @millie.knits
Happy Christmas, Christopher, to you and all your loved ones. I spent my afternoon with you before making Christmas dinner. That hour provided such a lovely antidote to the busy-ness of the day… Thank you!
I will wait until later tonight after I calm down from a tremendous day at work to relax and enjoy the evening with you! I just cannot convey how much true joy you bring! Thank you so very much and here’s wishing you a very Merry and yarny Christmas!
Happy holidays to you! The Christmas movie debate is always a joy to listen to. My mom and I started our own tradition of watching "Young Frankenstein" while putting up the tree and decorations. Thus, it's OUR Xmas movie ^_^
@FlannelandPurls Another favorite of ours is "The Hogfather" movie. It's a two part movie adaption of the book from Terry Pratchett, and follows Death's granddaughter as she is tasked with saving Hogswatch when the Hogfather goes missing.
The joy you give me every time you put out a new episode is amazing, it's like sitting down with a friend I've not seen in a hot minute and chatting til our face hurts. I love love this idea of 12 yarns of Christmas (I might, upon the soft launch of my own TH-cam, ask to borrow this) and I love you way of categorised Christmas movies. Our traditional, has nothing to do with Christmas movie is any of the Wallace and Gromit movies, but especially The Wrong Trousers. 😂 Amazing. Also you've encouraged me to branch out a little with my yarn choices and I'm going to see if anyone has some BFL or non superwash I can squish and give a try.
I love Christmas, last couple Christmas I was not in a good place as my brother pasted two years ago before Christmas so depression has been a close friend. This year though I’m getting back to being me (of course never will be the same) but I made cookies, rice Krispy treats, and yesterday I made cornbread dressing which is very much a tradition. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas 🎄
I'm so sorry to read about your loss but am thrilled to hear that you've found a way to include healing as a part of your experience in the holidays. There's a particular sting to navigating this season while trying to reconcile loss and I hope that you are finding time to care for yourself in the middle it all.
as soon as you described the fourth movie category I KNEW you were gonna say the Holiday😂 Great episode! Also, I have to say, I have been living for all your updates on sweet Howl this year. I am so invested in this cat 💕
Speaking of films (more like films for TV) of the third category, in the late 90's one the french broadcast used to air Lamberto Bava's The Cave of the Golden Rose, an Italian fantasy romance adventure. It's incredible (and camp). And I believe they still rerun the Asterix animation films.
You are so fluffy ❤️ and thank you for a place at your table. 🐺❤️ Merry Christmas for you, your friends & fans and a happy jump into the next year!👉🏿🍾🥂 Das Wölfchen
Oh, I'm so glad to have you here! Thanks for dropping in and staying a while! Yessss we love Canadian dyers in this house. Or, rather, Canadian dyers seem to love me. I think the romance started with them hahaha I'm going to blame it on the flannels.
Merry Christmas and Happy Winter to you! Thank you so much for putting such a fun episode out into the world. Your Christmas movie classification system is fantastic! My oddball Christmas movies, which probably belong at the star tier but you tell me, are While You Were Sleeping, Bridget Jones Diary, and Hook. While You Were Sleeping and that beautiful wintery Chicago, yes please! Bridget Jones with Colin Firth in the Christmas sweaters, be still my heart!
Thanks for the episode Christopher, sitting and spinning some beautiful peacock Corriedale yarn. Since you started the purlcast I have increased my spinning skills and as you say, practice truly makes progress! Merry Christmas from the UK.
Merry Christmas!! And "peacock Corriedale" sounds gorrrge. Congrats on improving your skills!! I'm anxiously awaiting my wheel to be delivered so I can begin that journey myself...
Wow, I didn't know that Mustang driver that wakes me up every morning drove by your house (probably not true, but gee whiz do they sound the same) Those are some lovely yarns, which is sort of a problem because so many beautiful yarns, not nearly enough projects planned, but I'm hoping they are all doing really well so that by the time I can get through all the wonderful yarns, they'll still be around to provide fibers for. Have a peaceful and rewarding winter season.
That is SO. TRUE. The costumes are insanely good. I just....... oy. I wish the script was better? And the direction? I dunno... it's one of those movies that has brilliance hiding inside it. They just weren't able to get it over the finish line. Half of me wonders if it was originally much longer and the damage comes from editing for the sake of being a children's movie.
I might add to your christmas movie tree some personal decoration, for me Harry Potter are classic christmas movie, as Jane Austen movie or Little Women ( few mentions of christmas in the movie though) and LOTR of course
Thank you for the fun episode! I worked on crocheting Christmas decorations, so your company was very welcome! Thank you for your friendship and I look forward to your next episode...don't stay away so long. Merry Christmas and all the best in 2024!!!
Oh, goodness, thank you! I had no intention of staying away for so long. Unfortunately, my camera broke hahaha it spent most of December in the repair shop. Oy!
Love the Christmas Vacation nod with the music for the numbers! I was thinking about your chart, and now I think my favorite Christmas movie, It's a Wonderful Life, is actually at the top of the chart. It has Christmas in it, but does it need to? Are angels just a Christmas thing? It's my go to Christmas Eve watch though, so it will always be a Christmas movie to me. Also, thank you for highlighting Always Be Kind yarn, I've met Laura in person and she is so sweet and her yarns are so much fun to knit with. Lovely episode!
Thank you for another great episode. Thanks for sharing so many amazing dyers , especially the non-superwash and different breeds. Always love your energy and inclusiveness. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hi Chris, Loved this episode and all your ‘purls’ of wisdom with the Christmas movie run down. Your editing was so well done. Down here in Aus we’ll most likely be at the beach over Christmas and plenty of BBQ’s. I’m just finishing up a pair of silk and merino socks for my very knitworthy bestie in a beautiful pearly dusty pink. Have a lovely relaxing Christmas and a well deserved break. Thanks for making my day.🇦🇺🤗
Christopher, thank you so much for a lovely, fun and informative episode. I loved learning about all the new to me yarns and your masterclass on Christmas movies was great! Wishing you and your love a wonderful joyous holiday weekend and sending you my best wishes for 2024 from Vermont, Susannah
Yes to the funfetti sweater! I just finished a funfetti sweater vest for my partner. It was with Neon Lights from Yarn Loving Lady Lisa. You can be twinsies.
One of my friends is convinced that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is a Christmas movie! Specifically the first one, none of the others. I can kinda see it, since growing up ABC would have those Harry Potter Movie marathons during the holiday breaks. I personally don’t see it specifically as a Christmas movie, but she and her family does and it’s their tradition to watch it every year!
This was an absolute delight. Thank you so much for sharing yourself, all your yarny loves, and your absolute christmas movie prowess. Have a great holiday!
When I heard you say that you're making a Funfetti Fisherman's Sweater my jaw DROPPED. I've literally never wanted to see something more than that. I was doing my makeup and I dropped my brush. I am SO here for this!!!
I'm SO. EXCITED. about the funfetti fisherman's sweater. When I saw that yarn for the first time I knew IMMEDIATELY what it needed to become and I've been waiting for the day....
Loved this episode! Not sure if anyone shared the sad news though that Fiddlesticks in Madison is actually Closing at the end of the year! 😭😭 Anyone who can should give them love until then because they have always been such a fun and safe place to visit!
It's not that I dislike The Holiday. Quite the opposite, actually! I love it. But every time I'm like... "Why is this massive, sold out event... Happening... On Christmas Eve???"
Just finished this episode, and at the end, your invitation to the table brought tears to my eyes. This is such a hard time of the year for so many of us and that little grace speaks volumes. ❤❤❤
🥰🥰🥰🥰 I'm so glad to have you all here with me!
My vision went a little blurry at the end too! ❤
I was just about to post something just like this. Happy ugly crying right now. 😂
I've never felt more thrilled to be first in my life.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Merry Christmas from Olympia, WA! Thanks so much. Pure joy to hang with you here.

“Release you back to your day”! Beautiful.❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm a huge fan of Laura's and Always Be Kind yarn, too! 🥰
Thank you!
I love her so much
Thank you so much, 🩷🩷
IMO watching 75 “X-mas” movies qualifies you for just about anything.
And YAY to the Aran sweater in the fun confetti yarn! 😂
I have to watch While You Were Sleeping every Christmas. Thanks for a great episode. Happy Healthy New Year to you.
Oh, an EXCELLENT choice!
This is so nice and your Christmas cat sqewter us everything ❤ and the 12 yarns and the closing message i just loce
Cheers, Nicole (aka Knicoleknits) 🥰
P.S. Thanks so much for the yarn review. There were several that are going on my "tasting" list for 2024!
Oh yay!! I'm excited to hear how you like them!!
I totally agree about Love Actually! I was so confused at first when people referred to it as a Christmas movie!
Thank you Christopher! Love to Howl!
I'd argue that "It's A Wonderful Life" is a "star tier" Christmas movie. Would it stand alone without the Christmas scenes/songs, etc at the end? I say it would.
So nice to see Howl at the beginning of the podcast! She's so beautiful, glad you two found each other.
She truly is the prettiest lil thing. If only she would calm down and stop being so spicy when we close the door hahaha
I am from Michigan and love North Bay Fiber and Coyote Run. I have a design from each company that I am working on to release in 2024. So exciting!
Funfetti Waffle style sweater! That is going to be awesome. Hope you had a lovely Christmas!!!
Im rewatching your video and just had a thought. Christmas starts really early for knitters because yarn Advents are introduced around April, thats really early!!!
The pattern Musselburgh might be a project to consider for your 4 crows yarn.
Love your podcasts; you’ve got such a lovely and chill energy 🥰 Regarding the children on the scene, it’s actually a nativity play with primary school children performing with their families watching them in the audience. It’s a classic Christmas feature in the UK, and not necessarily a pageant 😊
Thank you and YES. So true! One of the few truly Christmas moments in the movie. They got by on that one hahaha
Such a pleasure to watch. thank you for the lovely ending.
This episode was brilliant. It really lifted my spirits. Thank you for putting your good vibes out into the world!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Oh, thank you! I hope you have a wonderful season!
This was lovely, thank you for sharing. Merry whatever and happy always!
You are wonderful. Sending you hugs, love and wishes for a very healthy and happy new year! 😘
Almost crying at your heartfelt expression of gratitude, thank YOU for creating such a calm and compassionate space and the 12 yarns of Christmas was a welcome break from the year in review FO parade ❤️ happy holidays! @millie.knits
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I'm so glad to have you here! I hope you have a wonderful end of the year and the one ahead is filled with nothing but warmth!
Happy Christmas, Christopher, to you and all your loved ones. I spent my afternoon with you before making Christmas dinner. That hour provided such a lovely antidote to the busy-ness of the day… Thank you!
Oh, the happiest of holidays to you as well!!
Your fisherman’s Aran sweater will be fabulous love the speckles it’ll be a pride fisherman sweater 🏳️🌈❤😊
I will wait until later tonight after I calm down from a tremendous day at work to relax and enjoy the evening with you! I just cannot convey how much true joy you bring! Thank you so very much and here’s wishing you a very Merry and yarny Christmas!
🥰🥰🥰🥰 Happy holidays to you as well!
Happy holidays to you! The Christmas movie debate is always a joy to listen to. My mom and I started our own tradition of watching "Young Frankenstein" while putting up the tree and decorations. Thus, it's OUR Xmas movie ^_^
Omg I looooove this addition. 10/10
@FlannelandPurls Another favorite of ours is "The Hogfather" movie. It's a two part movie adaption of the book from Terry Pratchett, and follows Death's granddaughter as she is tasked with saving Hogswatch when the Hogfather goes missing.
It’s joyful to have found you this year. Thank you for being my friend, cyber though it is at this point. Happy holidays to you and yours.
I'm so happy to have you here!! Thank you for dropping in and staying a little while with me. I hope the new year is kind to you! 💕
Oh, please do borrow! 😊 And yessss I insist you track down some non-superwash!!
Love The Holiday, but up to the top of the tree it goes. Loooolll I'll let Howl know you said hello... If she ever pops by today.
Perfect company as I embark onto sleeve island with my Stego Sweater!
I absolutely believe you will make it off in no time!
Great podcast and loved y our 12 yarns!! Going to check some of them out that are new to me. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
Speaking of films (more like films for TV) of the third category, in the late 90's one the french broadcast used to air Lamberto Bava's The Cave of the Golden Rose, an Italian fantasy romance adventure. It's incredible (and camp). And I believe they still rerun the Asterix animation films.
Oh I need to see this... Off I go to find it!
yeah! Meet Me In St. Louis. Love, but, agree with you. Also, White Christmas. I finished my first sweater with its ginormous sleaves.
Lol yay for being off Ginormous Sleeve Island!
Cats under the Christmas tree is the best thing 😭
Lol okay I've watched further now and see the cat Christmas sweater. My comment stands 😅
Also love the shoutouts for the Alberta yarn companies!
Also sorry/not sorry for basically live tweeting along as I watch.
Omg I love the love tweeting. More love tweeting
You are so fluffy ❤️ and thank you for a place at your table. 🐺❤️
Merry Christmas for you, your friends & fans and a happy jump into the next year!👉🏿🍾🥂
Das Wölfchen
Thank you so much!! ❤️
first time watching your podcast, new to knitting and so glad to see all this love for canadian dyers
These absolutely belong on the tree!
Super fun episode! Love your yarn recommendations, especially for the great causes 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much!! 💕
I honestly feel this pain so deeply because I have absolutely no idea when I'll actually get around to using all of this gorgeous fiber!
This was lovely, as is all of your videos. I really enjoyed this video and your invitation to the table really warmed my heart 💙
Oh thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoyed it and chose to drop in for a while!
There's some beautiful knitting in Jingle Jangle, though! Where I live they show the 80ies version of Ivanhoe every year at Christmas🤷
That is SO.
I love these additions! Particularly a Jane Austen
Oy!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Christopher! And Happy Holidays to all the F & P peeps. 🎄🎅🎄
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Thank you! Happy holidays to you as well!
Great podcast…very enjoyable, calm and informative! Thank you!
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love the Christmas Vacation nod with the music for the numbers! I was thinking about your chart, and now I think my favorite Christmas movie, It's a Wonderful Life, is actually at the top of the chart. It has Christmas in it, but does it need to? Are angels just a Christmas thing? It's my go to Christmas Eve watch though, so it will always be a Christmas movie to me. Also, thank you for highlighting Always Be Kind yarn, I've met Laura in person and she is so sweet and her yarns are so much fun to knit with. Lovely episode!
I was hoping someone would notice the music cue on that!!! UGH. You have no idea how long it took me to hunt that sound down!
Thank you for another great episode. Thanks for sharing so many amazing dyers , especially the non-superwash and different breeds. Always love your energy and inclusiveness. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you so much and yay for the non-superwash love! I'm all about it these days!
I loved this video so much! I needed a little relax Thank you ❤️
I just found you and love your podcast…now I’ll have to go back and watch more.
Thanks for making my day.🇦🇺🤗
PURLS OF WISDOM.
Oh you can consider that permanently borrowed. 😂
Thank you so much, Susannah!! I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season!
Yes to the funfetti sweater! I just finished a funfetti sweater vest for my partner. It was with Neon Lights from Yarn Loving Lady Lisa. You can be twinsies.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
One of my friends is convinced that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is a Christmas movie! Specifically the first one, none of the others.
I can kinda see it, since growing up ABC would have those Harry Potter Movie marathons during the holiday breaks. I personally don’t see it specifically as a Christmas movie, but she and her family does and it’s their tradition to watch it every year!
Oh, totally! My partner says the same thing.
This was an absolute delight. Thank you so much for sharing yourself, all your yarny loves, and your absolute christmas movie prowess. Have a great holiday!
Thank you so much!! 💕
YES! I love that you included Showgirls!! THank you, I feel seen.
LMAOOOOOO Showgirls 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 Christmas 👏🏻 movie 👏🏻
Frog island = lilypad
You've just been chillin' on a lily pad 😅
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
@woolneedeshands would be tickled to hear about your franken cardigan. She is going on another journey with her franken sweater!
Loved this episode! Not sure if anyone shared the sad news though that Fiddlesticks in Madison is actually
Closing at the end of the year! 😭😭 Anyone who can should give them love until then because they have always been such a fun and safe place to visit!
I know... I found out literally as I was editing this. I'm so angry on their behalf...
Have a wonderful Christmas with your family ❤ this podcast is just so soothing for the soul and wholesome xx
Thank you so much!! 😊
When you mentioned the Star tier, the first movie I thought about was "The Holiday". And I agree on Love Actually.
It's not that I dislike The Holiday. Quite the opposite, actually! I love it. But every time I'm like... "Why is this massive, sold out event... Happening... On Christmas Eve???"
@@FlannelandPurls Exactly! I also liked the movie. Still do
